Hi, thank you! I've already went through some of the tutorial pages, but I'll try hard to make my style perfect :) I wonder how the relativity intro article evolves, but from my point of view, the current intro is not good - too complicated and long. Well, if it is intended for average people just curious what SR is about.

My first question is: If I think that some article is bad and there's some other article which could replace it, should I just replace it? Or what is the correct thing to do on Wiki to make the things moving?

One of the guidelines of wikipedia is Wikipedia:Be bold in updating pages. Which means that if you spot some errors, or find some information or articles missing, you should go ahead and fix it. But in your case, the situation is somewhat different. …but don't be reckless!. The current intro article is a really well-developed article with a lot of effort made. When proposing major changes to any article it is always the best path to leave a message on the talk pages of articles. Well I just doubt, that the current intro still servers as an introduction for people famailiar only with basics of math and physics. I didn't want to disrupt the curent intro, so I set up another article. But now it seems to me, that instead of deciding "which of these articles is a better introduction to the topic?" it's "will the new one be deleted?". I'd like to start a discussion if the current intro is really an intro for general audience or if a completely new text should be used. Without any edit wars. Can the two "candidates" be evaluated by people new to the SR?--Herr.Schultze 15:35, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a complicated situation. The comment that I have left at the physics project and which you have left on the other article is bound to get some reply in a day or two. So my suggestion to you would be to wait for 2 days. If this article goes through WP:AFD, I predict that the result would be to merge the two articles. Merging means that the contents of both articles combined into one. Wikipedia:Merging and moving pages. So "will the new one be deleted" may not be the only alternative. People work across various time-zones here. You are most likely to get a response in 12-24 hours. Deletion of article[edit]

As I had explained to you earlier the article will have to go through a 5 days process. They may vote to keep the article. If you have some valid points please raise them at the discussion page. I will add a link to the discussion here soon. And yes, I am not an administrator here and can't delete an article. Also, even if the article gets deleted, don't loose hope in wikipedia. Hi EMS, to be honest, I don't have any plans to change the intro anymore. From my point of view, the current version is a useless piece of crap, but majority of the editors are happy with it. Otherwise it would be already deleted to encourage others to write something meaningful. This difference is so big, that I'm probably not able to produce an article, that would be accepted by others.--Herr.Schultze 09:02, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
