Thanks![edit]

For cleaning up after the miss I dumped on Dead Rising, I had to run spontaneously but TTN's delete via un-merged merging lost information that would be useful... Kyaa the Catlord (talk) 05:54, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Centralized TV Episode Discussion[edit]

Over the past months, TV episodes have been reverted by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. --Maniwar (talk) 23:34, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

John C. West InfoBox[edit]

The InfoBox you recently added to the John C. West article contains inaccurate information. I tried to fix it myself, but I kept getting error messages every time I hit the "show preview' button. If possible, could you please correct the InfoBox? --TommyBoy (talk) 08:19, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just got your message and checked the article to see if your attempt at correcting the InfoBox worked, however it appears that your attempt was unsuccessful as well. The InfoBox now lists August 27, 1922 as both his birthdate and deathdate. --TommyBoy (talk) 23:05, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Avatar[edit]

Thank You, i did not know that. But i am happy that Avatar is taking a break, it allows us to improve the articles with out having to do numerous reverts throughout the process. During the break the Aang article made it to GA, the season articles are at B, and Aang is currently being prepped for FC while Azula is being prepped for GA. We Are Wizards[edit]

I read about it on AICN. :-) I think the place it would work best would be in Harry Potter fandom, though I'm not an editor of that page. It could probably do with its own article as well, once more information is known about it. Serendipodous 13:12, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Shadow move[edit]

I noticed your comments; I'll take care of the requested move for you. Please check to make sure that the redirects are the way you want them. If you have any questions or problems, let me know. Accounting4Taste:talk 03:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to be of assistance, and thanks for taking care of changing over the redirects so that they're not "double" (redirecting from "whatever" to "(fictional character)" to "The Shadow"), as I understand that's a bad thing ;-). If you ever run into this situation in the future, let me know, I'm happy to help on any kind of media franchise topics (as long as I know what I'm doing). Oops on Bridge[edit]

Go ahead and continue formatting again. I was trying to fix an inaccuracy in the article, and we had been editing at the same time. I thought I had merged your edits into the new revision, but I must have missed a few. Sorry about that. Duuude007 (talk) 17:11, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GWB not GBW. George Walker Bush, current President of the USA and whose wikipedia page is notorious site of edit wars. Re: Shaman King[edit]

That could be explained in the plot section but it needs some fixes. See the Rurouni Kenshin plot section as an example.Tintor2 (talk) 15:33, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I meant about how the plot should be written. For the end it could be something like "when Yoh and his friends arrive the 5th, the manga ended, but the plot continues during the kanzenban rerelease".Tintor2 (talk) 23:36, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That is explained in the manga section from Shaman King. By what Takei wrote in an interview from the kanzenban, he was too exhausted to continue writting the manga, and had problems with writting the ending. I was going to add a production section in the Shaman King article, but due to the few things I found, I m going to wait a bit. I also found that in Shonen Jump, there are two interviews with Takei, and I asked an user who has an interview to write it. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 15:23, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Asakura Hao[edit]

Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you but I wish to know why the Asakura Hao page along with his template link and his little bit of info on the character list was removed? Since your a participant of WikiProject Anime and Manga I thought I might ask you. I checked the article's talk page and I saw no discussions about its removal, furthermore no one has bothered to fill out his info on the character list or even the Hao's follower section, would you mind telling me what exactly happened? -24.55.173.212 (talk) 18:44, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for contacting me. Based on the edit history of the Hao Asakura article, it looks like some editors closed it because it only consisted of a retelling of the plot of Shaman King. They redirected the article to point to the Hao section of the List of Shaman King Characters, but it looks like the Hao section was deleted after that occurred.
Typically an article having to do with fictional subjects or stories should try to demonstrate real world information related to the subject in addition to giving an account of the plot of that story. I try to add information to the main Shaman King article that discusses the production of the series whenever I find it, in an effort to show real world relevance. In the case of the Hao article, there may not have been enough information about Hao outside of the series for the article to stand on it's own (how he was created, what critics think of him, etc). It does however surprise me that his section was removed from the list of characters. If I have some free time I'll see if I can replace what was removed or add something new to that article. There should be 3 by my recollection. Was one removed in the remodeling? Hewinsj (talk) 16:54, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
it actually was not removed, it is now located in the Learning Center, a group of old 1950s classrooms on the north side of the school that were not removed during the renovation, but are now marooned on the oppisite side of the bus parking lot. they are used for computer labs and special ed. i know this because i'm a student, but im sure it will be impossible to find any sources about this.Bajor9 (talk) 00:42, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Gungrave-screen01.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Gungrave-screen01.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:42, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Shaman King[edit]

Because most of those statements were unsourced. The fact Viz only published the tankobon volumes already tells that they did not publish the kanzenban chapters. Any mention regarding the plot has to be mention in the plot section of the article. Creating these subection would imply we make more and more (like "Japanese publication", "English publication", etc) and reading it would be very confusing when it can be all summarized in two paragraphs.Tintor2 (talk) 16:21, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As long as it backed up by WP:Reliable sources it is okay.Tintor2 (talk) 16:51, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to wp:verifiability, everything needs to be sourced. In this case, the sentence "Called Shaman King Kanzen-Ban, or Perfect Edition, this release reprinted the entire series in 27 volumes, concluding with the never-before-published "true ending" to the series." already states that the original's story did not end and it's sourced.Tintor2 (talk) 17:08, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FM3[edit]

greetings! christiaan here from fm3. thanks for your help to prevent the deletion of the FM3 page... i would like to get it back up. There have been articles as well in Wall Street Journal about the Buddha machine and many other major media. i think the WSJ and Wire and other articles are behind a paywall, though... i dont think there is much of an argument that the band is not significant. in china we were the first live electronic band and we remain one of the top selling chinese acts of all time... what can we do to get the page back? Mandopop (talk) 07:47, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FM3 new items[edit]

thanks for getting back to me! the louvre thing was in 2004, and the french really didnt get all their media online until recently. we did a very big interview with Liberation recently, but all the big papers there are still behind paywalls! i have a lot of print clippings from france about the louvre project, in which we made a soundtrack for the classic french film la Croisière jaune and performed it live in the louvre auditorium in june 2004... but not to worry. ive added about 8 sources for some basic band info, and currently every sentence in the short bio is sourced to a mainstream media report... ill slowly build up links to published articles over the next weeks and then perhaps things can be fleshed out by our overseas fans... i can also compile a list of links and send to you if you wish to add... im a bit slow cos im behind the Great Firewall and also just very busy with a new compiliation album and film soundtrack we are working on... slowly slowly... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandopop (talkcontribs) 19:09, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

here is a link to an article about the band which appeared in the July 2006 edition of the the Wire magazine. there are a few errors, but the basic band history is accurate. http://marcusboon.com/node/78 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandopop (talkcontribs) 19:25, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gungrave[edit]

Hmmmm. You look too experienced to suggest a "disambiguation" page. In any case, I've written a response to you at Talk:Gungrave.
ProResearcher (talk) 18:20, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just read the article "Wikipedia:Disambiguation". The result--in the case of Gungrave, I think a "franchise" page is correct.

Here's a good example for you . . .

On a "franchise" page, I would include:

  • "Godfather" books by Mario Puzo
  • Godfather movies based on the books
  • Godfather games based on the books / movies

On a "disambiguation" page, I would include:

  • all items from the above "franchise" page plus
  • a general article about the concept of a mafia Godfather
  • a general article about the concept of a familial godfather

Do you see the difference?

Thus, I truly believe that your Gungrave disambiguation page should be renamed to a franchise page. Sorry.
ProResearcher (talk) 15:06, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Last explanation :-)

A "series" article is a subset of a "franchise" article (e.g. a series of video games is a subset of "The Godfather" franchise)

A "franchise" article is a subset of a "disambiguation" page (e.g. "The Godfather" franchise is a subset of all Wiki articles related to the word godfather)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Etrigan batman tas.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Etrigan batman tas.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
