Q on my talk (since reverted)

I did revdel after you left that comment (but before I saw it). The interface wasn't letting me for some reason, so I did the rest that it would and reloaded. After the reload it let me. --TheSandDoctor Talk 04:43, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

@TheSandDoctor: Got it. But note that revdel may still be seen by other admins. Hhkohh (talk) 04:51, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
I do realize that, it is alright. The text of the deleted page which had its summary hidden (summary was just a page move log) was just a redirect and the page content was not oversighted. --TheSandDoctor Talk 04:57, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Guideline and policy news

  • An RfC about the deletion of drafts closed with a consensus to change the wording of WP:NMFD. Specifically, a draft that has been repeatedly resubmitted and declined at AfC without any substantial improvement may be deleted at MfD if consensus determines that it is unlikely to ever meet the requirements for mainspace and it otherwise meets one of the reasons for deletion outlined in the deletion policy.
  • A request for comment closed with a consensus that the {{promising draft}} template cannot be used to indefinitely prevent a WP:G13 speedy deletion nomination.

Technical news

  • Starting on July 9, the WMF Security team, Trust & Safety, and the broader technical community will be seeking input on an upcoming change that will restrict editing of site-wide JavaScript and CSS to a new technical administrators user group. Bureaucrats and stewards will be able to grant this right per a community-defined process. The intention is to reduce the number of accounts who can edit frontend code to those who actually need to, which in turn lessens the risk of malicious code being added that compromises the security and privacy of everyone who accesses Wikipedia. For more information, please review the FAQ.
  • Syntax highlighting has been graduated from a Beta feature on the English Wikipedia. To enable this feature, click the highlighter icon () in your editing toolbar (or under the hamburger menu in the 2017 wikitext editor). This feature can help prevent you from making mistakes when editing complex templates.
  • IP-based cookie blocks should be deployed to English Wikipedia in July (previously scheduled for June). This will cause the block of a logged-out user to be reloaded if they change IPs. This means in most cases, you may no longer need to do /64 range blocks on residential IPv6 addresses in order to effectively block the end user. It will also help combat abuse from IP hoppers in general. For the time being, it only affects users of the desktop interface.

Miscellaneous

  • Currently around 20% of admins have enabled two-factor authentication, up from 17% a year ago. If you haven't already enabled it, please consider doing so. Regardless if you use 2FA, please practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.

XXXTentacion's ?

I wanted to add this sentence to the chart section:

"Following XXXTentacion's death, ? reached new peaks in the Netherlands (No. 1), New Zealand (No. 1) source, Switzerland (No. 4) source and Austria (No. 10) source."

Is that OK? --2A02:B98:473F:B20C:35AC:E352:66D4:CC4D (talk) 10:05, 4 July 2018 (UTC)

Your recent interaction with another editor

Recently, you had reported User:Nerg for disruptive editing. Now he appears to be continuing this type of editing on the page for Black Panther (film) and its current GA review page as well. Another editor User:Adam has mentioned that his timing appears to be 'suspect' after making back-to-back edits with another editor here: [1]. Could you comment on this either here or on the Talk page there. JohnWickTwo (talk) 14:56, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

@JohnWickTwo: I am not familiar with Film project, but seems he did some bad faith edits and you can consider report him in WP:ANI and warn him. Hhkohh (talk) 15:11, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Deletion Sorting

Hello, you have recently added some AfD's via the "delsort" process to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Albums and songs and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Bands and musicians. Several of those are fictional characters who are not musicians and have not released albums: Deacon Claybourne, Gunnar Scott, Avery Barkley. It may not seem like a big deal, but those project pages (especially Bands and Musicians) are already overloaded with nominations for articles that are about actual musicians and actual albums, creating more work for editors who would like to clean up Wikipedia's coverage of those precise topic areas. Please "delsort" sparingly. Thanks. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:44, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Delsort: You’re doing it wrong

So, after speaking with you at the Mr. Roboto Project AFD, I removed it from the California delsort list as it manifestly is not an article about anything in California. I noticed also what you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of most popular websites and realized someone needs to have a talk with you about this. You added this AFD to 27 delsort lists. Deletion sorting is supposed to be done by the primary topic of the page being considered for deletion, and there is no way one article has 27 primary topics. Your approach to delsort needs to be a lot more reasonable than it currently is. Don’t just look for any possibility to find some tangential link to as many topics as possible, that’s not helpful and could be seen as canvassing in that your are basically spamming the discussion to as many places as possible. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:15, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Beeblebrox I am sorry to hear that but those countries are all mentioned in the article, so what is your idea? Hhkohh (talk) 01:08, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

I’m not at all sure from your replies if you understand what was flawed with your approach. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:41, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
@Beeblebrox: Again, these countries are mentioned in the list, any questions? Hhkohh (talk) 04:20, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, my question would be if you understand that being mentioned is passing in an article does not make something the primary topic, and that only the primary topic or topics of an article should be used to determine delsort listings? Because it seems like you have completely failed to grasp what I’m trying to tell you. Beeblebrox (talk) 04:53, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

@Beeblebrox: So what is your proposal? And is it necessary to request other people comment in WT:DELSORT? Hhkohh (talk) 13:45, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Voluntary six month topic ban

Since you !voted in support of the proposed six-month topic ban against you, I have closed the AN/I discussion with a voluntary six-month topic ban, during which time you are banned from adding any deletion discussion to any deletion sorting list. Since there was, in my opinion, sufficient community support for the topic ban before you added your support !vote, I've logged it here as being enforceable by blocks.

I want to be sure you understand that I am not an administrator, and the closure of the discussion, and the logging of the topic ban, were non-administrator actions. Nothwithstanding that, you would best consider the topic ban as being binding on you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:32, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Warning

This edit, asking another user to do delsort fo you, is still a violation of the topic ban. Just leave delsort alone until you actually understand how it works. Continuing to violate the ban will lead to you being blocked.

That you added that the reason you couldn’t do it yourself was that “someone complained” would seem to indicate that despite the fact that you yourself voted in favor of it you still don’t have the faintest idea what the issue actually is. So again, just stay away from deletion sorting as that is the whole point of the topic ban. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:15, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Closing deletion debates

Hi, you recently closed two TfD debates at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2018 July 24, one as "delete" and one as "relist". I have reverted those closes for the following reasons: Relisting a debate is not a closing action; feel free to relist but don't use XfD closer to do so, as that closes/archives the discussion (so it is the opposite of relisting). As for the "delete" close, since non-admins can't delete pages, we can't make those closes. You'll need to wait for an admin to do it. --bonadea contributions talk 19:48, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

@Bonadea: See WP:NACD Hhkohh (talk) 19:50, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
On that page, NAC can close TfD as delete. Hhkohh (talk) 19:51, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
If result is delete, templates will list in WP:TFDH Hhkohh (talk) 19:53, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Only if it is an orphan, according to that page. But I'm not going to argue with you or revert you back. Why did you close the other discussion as "relist" again? --bonadea contributions talk 19:58, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
@Bonadea: I saw no one comment in the relisted discussion, if you think it is unsuitable, I can undo relist Hhkohh (talk) 20:01, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
And discussion is now at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2018 August 1 Hhkohh (talk) 20:02, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Fine, whatever. --bonadea contributions talk 20:03, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

It’s really not fine. Once again we see this user operating in areas where they seem to be a bit out of their depth, and making poorly reasoned counter arguments when challenged. The very policy they linked is quite clear: Non-administrators should limit their closes to outcomes they have the technical ability to implement; for example, non-admins should not close a discussion as delete, because only admins can delete pages. I really am not comfortable with this user determining consensus as I’m not at all convinced they have a solid grasp on the English language to begin with and take a very simplistic approach to everything. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:06, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

@Beeblebrox: See WP:NACD and WP:NAC#Templates for discussion Hhkohh (talk) 20:09, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
It says:As the result of a 2015 request for comment,[4] consensus allows for non-administrators to close discussions at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion as delete. Non-administrators should follow the same steps as administrators, found at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Administrator instructions, with the exception of the final step of proposing speedy deletion using {{db-xfd}}. and Exception: a non-administrator may close a TfD as orphan. Hhkohh (talk) 20:12, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Whilst BBrox is wrong as to the extent of NACs in TfDs, I would also request you to gain more experience in weighing arguments at deletion discussions, prior to making closes. I've reviewed some of your recent closes and am quite uncomfortable with your reading of consensus, apart from a nose-count.WBGconverse 10:07, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – August 2018

News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2018).

Administrator changes

added Sro23

Guideline and policy news

  • After a discussion at Meta, a new user group called "interface administrators" (formerly "technical administrator") has been created. Come the end of August, interface admins will be the only users able to edit site-wide JavaScript and CSS pages like MediaWiki:Common.js and MediaWiki:Common.css, or edit other user's personal JavaScript and CSS. The intention is to improve security and privacy by reducing the number of accounts which could be used to compromise the site or another user's account through malicious code. The new user group can be assigned and revoked by bureaucrats. Discussion is ongoing to establish details for implementing the group on the English Wikipedia.
  • Following a request for comment, the WP:SISTER style guideline now states that in the mainspace, interwiki links to Wikinews should only be made as per the external links guideline. This generally means that within the body of an article, you should not link to Wikinews about a particular event that is only a part of the larger topic. Wikinews links in "external links" sections can be used where helpful, but not automatically if an equivalent article from a reliable news outlet could be linked in the same manner.

New style for 2018 Liga 1 foreign players

Hi Hhkohh, I just made a new style for 2018 Liga 1 foreign players like the one in 2018 Thai League 1 foreign players. You can check on my sandbox for foreign players and tell me what do you think. Thanks. Regards, Wira rhea (talk) 01:16, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

@Wira rhea: Never mind. But why do you use: upward-facing green arrowdownward-facing red arrow: foreign players who already registered and made at least one appearance but then replaced by another foreign players. Hhkohh (talk) 06:44, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
And also you can consider using {{nowrap}} if you think it is necessary Hhkohh (talk) 06:49, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
Because, I think it just important to mentioned someone who already registered and has played some matches but then get replaced, and I don't know what icon should be use. Maybe you have better ideas? Also maybe I'll use {{nowrap}} to wrap a long name. Wira rhea (talk) 06:54, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
@Wira rhea: Do you mean that Ivan Carlos França Coelho registered in mid-season and got replaced in mid-season? Hhkohh (talk) 07:02, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
Yes, he registered to replace Addison Alves, play for three matches (against PSM Makassar, Sriwijaya F.C., and Bali United F.C.) before replaced by Renan Silva. He even got sanctioned by Komdis PSSI for spitting to Wawan Hendrawan's face. Wira rhea (talk) 07:38, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

How did you come to the conclusion that Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2018_July_9#Template:Anarion_family_tree there was a consensus to delete? -- PBS (talk) 11:08, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

@Primefac: What is your opinion? If you agree to relist, please restore and relist, thanks Hhkohh (talk) 11:14, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Please answer my question. There is no need for a resisting if you are not sure why you closed it for deletion. I can be closed as no consensus. One IP address listed the template for discussion without stating that they wanted it deleted and the other IP address said delete per nominator both are confused entries by entities that are not usually considered to "responsible Wikipedians" (WP:NHC). Only two named editors expressed an opinion and they were contrary to each other. In my case as a source has been provided it comes under WP:PRESERVE -- but you must know that. What is the policy of guideline that covers "delete [because] unused"? -- PBS (talk) 18:40, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
@PBS: So when I am reviewing this discussion yesterday, I think I did a wrong close at that time and prefer to restoring and relisting this discussion. Since I am not an admin, I cannot restore and reopen this discussion. So I am waiting admin Primefac to help me to do this Hhkohh (talk) 04:08, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

AFC Champions League clubs performance comparison

Please be much more careful with things like this. Cut-and-paste moves from userspace are not at all inappropriate, except in the rare case when someone else edited the userpage: they don't leave behind an inconvenient redirect, and the userspace page has not had any authors whose names are omitted from the history of the mainspace page. Guideline and policy news

  • Following a "stop-gap" discussion, six users have temporarily been made interface administrators while discussion is ongoing for a more permanent process for assigning the permission. Interface administrators are now the only editors allowed to edit sitewide CSS and JavaScript pages, as well as CSS/JS pages in another user's userspace. Previously, all administrators had this ability. The right can be granted and revoked by bureaucrats.

Technical news

  • Because of a data centre test you will be able to read but not edit the wikis for up to an hour on 12 September and 10 October. This will start at 14:00 (UTC). You might lose edits if you try to save during this time. The time when you can't edit might be shorter than an hour.
  • Some abuse filter variables have changed. They are now easier to understand for non-experts. The old variables will still work but filter editors are encouraged to replace them with the new ones. You can find the list of changed variables on mediawiki.org. They have a note which says Deprecated. Use ... instead. An example is article_text which is now page_title.
  • Abuse filters can now use how old a page is. The variable is page_age.

Arbitration

  • The Arbitration Committee has resolved to perform a round of Checkuser and Oversight appointments. The usernames of all applicants will be shared with the Functionaries team, and they will be requested to assist in the vetting process. The deadline to submit an application is 23:59 UTC, 12 September, and the candidates that move forward will be published on-wiki for community comments on 18 September.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Reasons of "revert; change my mind" is not an acceptable reason. -- AlexTW 04:24, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

AlexTheWhovian Thank you for notifying. I will keep in mind Hhkohh (talk) 08:40, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

I don't appreciate your overly aggressive tone towards me- I did not vandalize any page. That was an addition that had to do with the image and the article. You should think about what you type before you type it. --Hmdwgf (talk) 01:20, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

PS TIRA

Do you even speak Indonesian? In the article it is clearly stated that PT Cilangkap TNI Jaya is the owner/operator of PS TIRA. Why it is not constructive? 114.124.210.239 (talk) 11:07, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Even if you don't speak Indonesian you could use Google Translate or other machine translations to verify my edit. Why don't you assume good faith? 114.124.210.239 (talk) 11:08, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
Do you know in Indonesia the owner of the football club must be a corporation (PT Blahblahblah)? I added the owner parameter to most recent legal corporation that operates/owns the football club. Clean sheets

Hi, I just wanna ask about 2018 Liga 1 clean sheets. User Flix11 put {{subst:Failed verification}} on it because there's no statistics for clean sheets in soccerway references which is true because I did the count myself based on matches and looking in soccerway. Should I remove the clean sheets section? Wira rhea (talk) 10:58, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

@Wira rhea: I am so curious that why you do not use official website source in statistics section? Does official website not provide? I check almost top league in Asia just now. Some were written but unsourced, some were not written, others were written and provide their official website Hhkohh (talk) 11:39, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
@Hhkohh: I want to use official website even from last year. At first, the site provide goalscorers and assist, but for the assist it shown only player that has mentioned in top scorer section. For example, it mentioned Sylvano Comvalius 37 goals and 9 assist. Where actually Boaz Solossa was the top assist with 14. But it didn't show it because he not in top 10 goalscorers. And this season, top assist didn't mentioned at all on the site. So I went through another league season page and found soccerway provide complete statistics of a league. So I put it in Liga 1 seasons. Wira rhea (talk) 13:01, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
I just went to [5], can you translate to English, Wira rhea? Hhkohh (talk) 13:08, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
Of course. From left to right, top to bottom, there are club statistics with most goals, most shots, most passes, most tackles, and most saves. Same statistics are applied to player statistics below it. Except for most goals, all statistics for clubs is not right. Wira rhea (talk) 13:26, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
@Wira rhea: So I suggest that we will not write clean sheet from next season. But this year is not a big matter. We can either keep it or remove as unsourced/unclear sourced. Hhkohh (talk) 13:34, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
Okay then. Better remove it. Thanks. Wira rhea (talk) 13:37, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

Guideline and policy news

Technical news

  • Partial blocks should be available for testing in October on the Test Wikipedia and the Beta-Cluster. This new feature allows admins to block users from editing specific pages and in the near-future, namespaces and uploading files. You can expect more updates and an invitation to help with testing once it is available.
  • The Foundations' Anti-Harassment Tools team is currently looking for input on how to measure the effectiveness of blocks. This is in particular related to how they will measure the success of the aforementioned partial blocks.
  • Because of a data centre test, you will be able to read but not edit the Wikimedia projects for up to an hour on 10 October. This will start at 14:00 (UTC). You might lose edits if you try to save during this time.

Arbitration

  • The Arbitration Committee has, by motion, amended the procedure on functionary inactivity.
  • The community consultation for 2018 CheckUser and Oversight appointments has concluded. Appointments will be made by October 11.
  • Following a request for comment, the size of the Arbitration Committee will be decreased to 13 arbitrators, starting in 2019. Additionally, the minimum support percentage required to be appointed to a two-year term on ArbCom has been increased to 60%. ArbCom candidates who receive between 50% and 60% support will be appointed to one-year terms instead.
  • Nominations for the 2018 Arbitration Committee Electoral Commission are being accepted until 12 October. These are the editors who help run the ArbCom election smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering for this role, please consider nominating yourself.

AFC and OFC group templates

I suggest deleting these templates (and all similar ones for 2018 AFC Champions League and 2018 AFC Cup):

If any page are linking to them, just change to {{2018 OFC Champions League group tables|Qualifying stage}} etc. Chanheigeorge (talk) 18:25, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Chanheigeorge, since we have merged these old templates to new template, so we need to keep page history. It is better to redirect to new templates or do a histmerge then delete 00:41, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:August 2019 events in Asia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Good. The last thing I have done before Template:New unreviewed article is deleted after nine years of seeing it everywhere on Wikipedia is went to User talk:MusikAnimal and asked for Template:New unreviewed article to be removed from the Twinkle tag function. After that, all that is left to do is to delete Template:New unreviewed article but I won't tag it for speedy deletion until it is removed from Twinkle's tag function. The documentation page is already nominated for speedy deletion. Thanks. Pkbwcgs (talk) 17:21, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Hhkohh. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Hi, can you please check my page here: User:Wira rhea/Template:Liga 1 table for the qualification to AFC Competition. Is that correct? Wira rhea (talk) 03:20, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

Checking... Hhkohh (talk) 05:14, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
@Wira rhea: Currently, the first team (league champions) will go to ACL PR1 (if loses qualifying play-offs, team will transfer to ACC group stage. The second team (cup winners) will go to ACC PO. The third team (league runners-up) is a standby team. However, sometimes some team do not want to play AFC Cup like 2019 AFC Cup or a team both win Cup and League, so we should adjust qualification after Cup competition and 2020 AFC Cup group stage draw separately Hhkohh (talk) 06:02, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
