Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Bell X1 (band) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Bell X1 (band) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/pg/bellx1/about/?ref=page_internal) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.

Disambiguation link notification for April 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Josh Kaufman (musician), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Thomas Bartlett (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2018 election voter message[edit]

Hello, Hilwhite. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. File permission problem with File:Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett.jpg, which you've attributed to Barque LLC. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 02:24, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am not a paid advertising or promotional user. I liaise with official management to ensure accuracy of content and attain copyright for images that I use. Review of my activity will indicate that everything is cited thoroughly with no spin or misinfomration

Decline reason:

"I liaise with official management" that makes you a paid editor; see WP:PAID. Additionally, you clearly have a conflict of interest and edits like this one are obvious violations of WP:PROMO. "Central to what the band has achieved has been the unusual consistency of their studio output over the course of three albums in five years. The release of 3 in February 2019 saw many reviewers acknowledge the album as the final instalment in a triptych of recordings that was unique in the landscapes of both traditional Irish music but also contemporary classical and chamber music. " Comments like that have no place in a neutral encyclopedia, that'd be more suited to marketing material. You will not be unblocked to write about any subject area for which you have a conflict of interest. Yamla (talk) 13:01, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Gloaming 3, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Orphaned non-free image File:The Gloaming 3.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:The Gloaming 3.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:57, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, I am passionate about music and arts, and I believe in supporting acts I love. Pages I have worked on for Wikipedia have been deleted and my account blocked. I understand why this was, and I am accepting my failings. My only purpose in contacting the management of the acts I was creating pages about was to attain accurate and informative facts rather than borrowing information from secondary and tertiary sources which I could not verify (even if those sources had most likely attained their information from band press releases). I accept that my enthusiasm sounded like promotion but I am appealing to you to review the conciseness of my work and to note that I am passionate about these things and always include a very large array of citations to back up anything I purport. I would thus appeal to you to consider unblocking me. I vow that if you do, I will familiarise myself better with the content requirements of Wikipedia (which I have already done) and cool down any flourishes of language in the pages that I work on which have been interpreted as promotion. I was naive and did not understand the delicacies of what you require. If unblocked, I would like to edit/rewrite those pages that have been deleted, and then move on to other pages so that they meet with Wikipedia requirements. As a lover of music and arts, I want fellow fans around the world to have a concise and accurate introduction to the things I love. I abhor seeing lazy Wikipedia pages with few citations and information pasted in from other sources. Not only do the site's users deserve better, it is increasingly important these days that we strive for accuracy. I use Wikipedia regularly so I also want to be able to flag misinformation when I come across it to improve the resource. I do not believe my blocking is in error. As part of full disclosure, I forwarded correspondence with the management of one of the acts I was writing about on a Wikipedia page. This was interpreted as me being in the employ of the band which is not true. It was just me assuming that the best place to get verified facts was from the subject source so that I could deliver accuracy where gaps in the story of the band existed or permission was needed for an image. I also assumed that as long as all information was backed up with citations (as all of mine are), there was no issue. Finally, I ask during this appeal that you consider my affinity with Wikipedia, how I have donated to it over the years (long before I ever edited any page on the site) as indication of my belief in it as an important and democratic information source.. I feel I have something to offer it, as I hope the research, attention and detail of those pages I have done displays. I take research seriously and always cite, something I see lacking in so many music artist pages. I apologise for my naivety and gung-ho attitude and if unblocked, will never assume to pour my own personal enthusiasm into the content of an artist page. Thank you. Hilwhite (talk) 07:43, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you. You " liaise with official management to ensure accuracy of content"? Then WP:COI applies. Why you would do all this without any recompense is beyond me. I think you need to state all the recipients of your altruism. So, indeed, you still need to heed WP:PAID. (rant follows) We have no interest in being part of the ad campaign of the "acts" you follow. We are an encyclopedia. Please see WP:42. Donated money? Sorry, no. That does not mean you may not follow the rules set by this community. (Frankly, I'm insulted by this perception. The Foundation which owns this project and reaps the fruits of the unpaid labor of this project is doing quite well, thank you.) As you seem to be unaware of the promotional nature of your editing ,and because of the seeming impossibility of you following the Second Pillar of Wikipedia, I'm afraid you cannot be unblocked to edit Wikipedia. -- Deepfriedokra 14:58, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
