Welcome![edit]

Hello, HimarshaV, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Himarsha Venkatsamy, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Follow-up to COI concerns[edit]

Hi, I wanted to follow up with the templated message I left above. I was concerned about the edits you made to Himarsha Venkatsamy. Specifically, you mentioned that "Text inserted on behalf of paid editor User:Popcornandink". Where was this request made? Also, a request to add information from a user should not be used as a reference. Instead, text added to articles should be verifiable and referenced to reliable sources. If you have any questions, please ask below or go to the WP:TEAHOUSE or WP:HELPDESK. Thanks. Z1720 (talk) 14:12, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For user: Z1720 (talk) 14:12, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Hope you're doing well.

This is regarding my account being blocked and hence I'm unable to follow instruction set by you to resolve the issue at hand. The username is: HimarshaV and I am Giselle Figueiredo her representative. The "text inserted..." was a guideline that I read were I had to cite that if information mentioned is being added by source.

The issue: The page on Himarsha Venkatsamy has inaccurate information. I was tasked with rectifying that, hence I did so following the guidelines set by wikipedia as per my understanding, however, I was notified of errors by editors. I would like to rectify those errors and have the accurate information published on the page as soon as possible as the matter is urgent.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused, that was not the intention. I have the content at the ready just require an editor to review it and guide me as to how I can have the accurate information edited onto the page adhering to all guidelines set by wikipedia.

I would also sincerely appreciate it if you could guide me how to have this account unblocked.

Kind regards, Giselle Figueiredo.

There are a number of issues to address here:
  1. You have self-identified as Giselle Figueiredo from this account, and from the account Popcornandink [1]. Operating two accounts for inappropriate uses is called sockpuppetry, and is a serious offense. You must choose which account to keep; the other will be blocked forever.
  2. Should you choose this account, you cannot retain this account name. Choosing an account name that is the same as a notable, living person is impersonation. In your unblock request, you will have to request a new username that represents you as an individual, not as the person who employs you.
  3. You will have to review and understand Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure policy, which includes putting a clear and visible statement on your userpage of what articles you are being paid to edit, and who is paying you.
  4. Please realize that even with this disclosure, you should not edit articles related to your employer directly. You should request edits on the article talk page, where they can be reviewed by uninvolved editors. Your request must cite information from reliable, independent sources and not your employer's own primary or self-published sources (like social media, interviews, press releases, or unpublished personal knowledge).
  5. Though we strive for accuracy and fairness, please realize that an article's subject or their representatives have no right of ownership or control over its contents. Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy ensures that the article can contain both positive and negative information about a subject, as long as it is written in a plainly factual and balanced way.

June 2021[edit]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, HimarshaV, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username.

If you choose to keep your current username, please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org including your real name and your Wikipedia username to receive instructions from our volunteer response team about account verification. Please do not send documentation without being requested to do so.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our username policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice. Orange Mike | Talk 00:58, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
