Exodus as history[edit]

I see you've stepped into the same discussion about putting documentation that shows the Exodus as fact that I stepped into about 16 months ago. Finally gave up because "the community" wouldn't accept any of my sources. None of the magazine articles were in "credible" magazines, mainstream sources, or peer reviewed articles and the books were never good enough ("I think this was self-printed"). Hope you have better luck. Ckruschke (talk) 18:21, 30 November 2011 (UTC)Ckruschke[reply]

Thanks for this. The article itself says: "most archaeologists have abandoned the archaeological investigation of Moses and the Exodus as "a fruitless pursuit." But it only quotes Dever. Something has to change with re to the overgeneralizations. There is a term for this in Wikipedia which now escapes me. Historyprofrd (talk) 09:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exodus[edit]

I noticed that you had made some earlier edits to the exodus but had them reverted. I recently had the same issue. It would seem that two users are enforcing their own view of what "mainstream scholarly opinion" is on the article. The reason your edits, and mine, were reverted is not that they were wrong or that they didn't represent "mainstream opinion", but that these two users are enforcing a POV on the article. I assure you, your edits and mine were closer to "mainstream scholarly opinion" than the reversions were. If you are willing, we can work together on the article to bring some balance.Quarkgluonsoup (talk) 15:15, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like I got a discussion going on the problems with the exodus. Please stop by to contribution to the discussion when you have a chance.Quarkgluonsoup (talk) 06:20, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
