AfD Nomination: Induced dyslexia[edit]

Since it does not seem to me that Induced dyslexia meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

I received your message on my user page. I didn't delete your entry, but I did vote for its deletion. It's very simple--Wikipedia isn't a journal for reporting new research, it's an encyclopedia. "No original research" means that Wikipedia isn't the place for you to publish your own research. You could create a website or blog and include your research there, but Wikipedia is for research that has already been published in reputable journals. Hello Hold2file, thanks for your message. Like Jmh123 I only voted for the articles deletion. As you are new to Wikipedia I need to point out to you that your multiple posts to all those who voted for the deletion of Induced Dyslexia are inappropriate - there is a policy here about canvassing which bascially says you shouldn't do that. Since you're new you shouldn't get into any trouble for it but please be aware of this in the future.
In answer to your comments on my page - we're all the same on wikipedia, admins just have the power/responsibility to delete/undelete articles and block/unblock users. You should spend sometime looking at policy and joining in talkpage discussions to find out more about the community.
If you can source (using relibale & notable references) Induced dyslexia you could create a temporary userspace page for it. Please note that if the content is original research it CANNOT be posted anywhere in wikipedia - the info must be attribuatle (see policy on attribution and on original research).

Induced dyslexia[edit]

First of all, I'm glad to see that you kept a level head even after the article was deleted. I thought the text was an interesting read -- but in the state it was in, it wasn't good Wikipedia material, given the lack of sources and use of first person. You do seem to be a fairly new user, and I'm glad that you're asking for help.

Also, WP:V and WP:REF should be of use as far as citing sources, and as far as what kinds of sources are "good"; WP:NPOV can also be helpful in illustrating how to maintain a neutral point of view. If you need any other help, you can try typing {{helpme}} on your talk page -- that's the page you're looking at right now.

By the way, it's probably not a good idea to include your phone number, full name, or e-mail address on Wikpedia, even on a talk page, as millions of others could see it. Ten Pound Hammer • ^{(((Actions • Words)))} 18:30, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with what Ten Pound Hammer has said above. My reason for voting to delete Induced dyslexia was that it was unsourced and not in an encyclopedic tone - not because I felt it was unworthy of being in Wikipedia. I would be glad to help you find sources and rewrite the article if you wish, or you can type {{helpme}} on your talk page. If you wish to have a place where you can work on your article, before posting it to the main Wikipeda Article Space, you could use a user subpage. I think the editors above has accurately presented the procedures on documentation of sources in Wikipedia's style.
