Possible Conflict of Interest

Hallo, I notice that you have been adding references, quotations, and mentions of Hollis Taylor to multiple articles such as Birds in music, Bird, and Bird vocalization. Your username makes it appear that you may be this person or a close associate. As an experienced editor you will be aware that Wikipedia takes Conflict of Interest extremely seriously. While citing oneself is not absolutely forbidden, it inevitably makes it likely that editors will be torn between their responsibilities to the encyclopedia and their concerns in the world outside.

I looked over the text you paraphrased and everything looks ok. All we need to do now is to have you modify the draft text so that it includes the references using Wiki markup. I went ahead and did this for you in the first paragraph, which is labeled "the lede". This can be found in the same place under "extended content" on the Jon Rose talk page. If you're able to finish the rest of the draft's paragraphs, making sure to include the references just how they're included in the first paragraph, then we can work on moving it into the article. Rose was born in England and began playing violin at age 7 after winning a music scholarship to King's School in Rochester. GA nomination

I have decided to put the Jon Rose article that I helped you put together as COI review editor last year up for nomination as a Wikipedia Good Article (GA). A GA is a special set of articles which meet a core set of editorial standards.

Articles selected for GA status are ones which are well written, contain factually accurate and verifiable information, and are broad in coverage, neutral in point of view, stable, and illustrated, where possible, by relevant images with suitable copyright licenses. GA's do not have to be as comprehensive as featured articles (FA), which is the highest recognition an article may receive in Wikipedia. I believe that the Jon Rose article counts as a GA, and should be recognized as such.

Any editor, preferably one who has contributed to it, may nominate an article for GA status. Once this occurs, another impartial editor will then review the article after selecting it from a queue of good article nominations and evaluating it against the good article criteria. If it is accepted by the reviewer, the nominated article is added to the list of good articles, and the article receives a GA Icon displayed in the upper right hand corner of the article.

In the past, I have participated in 6 successful GA nominations as either nominator or reviewer. In my experience the review process can take as little as 7 days or as long as a few months to complete. This is not counting the time that the article may spend waiting on the queue to be selected for review, which can take up to one year.

As I have begun this process as nominator, your participation is not required, although I would like to be able to message you here on your talk page should any questions arise during the review process. The GA review was recently conducted for the Jon Rose article — unfortunately the article did not pass the review. Helpful suggestions were left by the reviewer; these may be found on the article's talk page.

The other issues raised in the review regarding the article's formatting are for me to correct, and ought not to be your concern.
