Henkjan Honing - article deleted - possible copyright violation[edit]

Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia: If you submitted work to Wikipedia which you had previously published (especially online), and your submission was marked as a potential infringement of copyright, stating that you are the copyright holder of the work on the article's talk page helps, but will not likely prevent deletion. It is sufficient to:

Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication. Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.

Or resubmit article in other words.--File Éireann 21:58, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for any inconvenience caused, but you just can't copy directly from a website without first proving to Wikipedia your right to do so. Thanks, and happy Wiki-ing!--File Éireann 22:01, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your creation of the article, Christopher Longuet-Higgins, but we cannot accept copyrighted text borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Please see Wikipedia:Copyright problems for more information on this topic, or generally, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. Please do not remove the copyright violation notice placed in the article or repost the suspected infringing text. However, if you would like to rewrite the article in your own words, follow the link in the posted notice to create a temporary subpage. If your new article is appropriate, and not a further copyright violation, the reviewing administrator will move that new article into place once the copyright status of the original has been resolved. Happy editing! —Caesura(t) 23:21, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware you had done this. I created the article on him a month ago using H. Christopher Longuet-Higgins, which is how he was listed at International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science. I have now created your link as a redirect. It would be nice if we could get a photograph of him. --Bduke 20:44, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Longuet-Higgins.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Longuet-Higgins.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:06, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Self-information surprise link[edit]

In 2006, you submitted an external link in the self-information article. The link goes to "Honing, H. (2006) Computational modeling of music cognition: a case study on model selection. Music Perception 23(5), 365-376." This article has little to do with self-information. However, the title of the link is "Towards a measure of surprise". I was unable to find an article with a similar title within the list of publications on the same website.

I am removing the link because it is off-topic and I cannot find what it might have been intended to point to. BrotherE (talk) 17:31, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:HenkjanHoning.jpg[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:HenkjanHoning.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. File permission problem with File:Henkjan-Honing.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Henkjan-Honing.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
