Agunah[edit]

You made a major edit to Agunah, and it was reverted. Per WP:BRD and common sense, please discuss your proposed changes on the talkpage of that article and pobtain consensus before re-instating your edit. Debresser (talk) 21:21, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This page was so obviously written by an Orthodox man possibly rabbi with an apologetic/halakhic POV that sees halakha as God's word. It lacks all objectivity about the actual human suffering of the agunah issue. The agunah problem is one in which a set of religious laws systematically oppresses women, and it works because people like Debresser see only a narrow POV, literally think that they speak for God ("Hashem" according to his profile), and refuse to recognize women's suffering. In addition, the page dismisses the vital work of many, many religious agunah activists around the world who actually share the POV that halakha is worthwhile but are still able to see agunot as human beings. In addition, as a matter of fact, you seem to be not aware of the fact that the number of men who can not obtain a divorce because of their wives refusing to accept a get is virtually equal to the number of women who can not obtain a divorce because their husbands refuse to give them a get. In general, your edit repeated the usual feminist rhetoric, which is very biased. As such, your edit does not comply with WP:NPOV, which is a core Wikipedia policy.
