It does seem as though I have to repeat virtually everything @ least thirty times in order to correct; my major point is that each of these are policy issues, discrimination issues. Well perhaps if you could prepare a page explaining more the deeper issues that you are encountering? Things on Wikipedia are deleted from time to time, this isn't usually an act of "handicappism" but simply users cleaning up things they don't find helpful or worthy of inclusion. Some people see things differently than others. Hi Hopiahuta, I've removed the {{editprotected}} tags from your user page and talk page, as they are meant only for article talk pages on articles that are already protected. Having them on your pages puts them in Category:Wikipedia protected edit requests, which is disruptive for those like myself who work at fulfilling protected page edit requests. Did it really have to come to this? The user needed an administrator to protect his talk page. Why is this so hard? It appears to be a very simple request. Past discussions on this subject opined that Hopiakuta was using a screen reader. Other editors came here and complained about the formatting, and Anthony.bradbury's comments, while well intentioned, did not help matters. So Hopiakuta did what he could and requested protection to prevent other editors from making these comments. Can someone please see this from Hopiakuta's POV and change the block level? What we really need here is not an indefinite block, but representatives from Wikipedia:WikiProject Accessibility who are willing to work with this user. Lily Elsie[edit]

I'm sorry, but you can't cram a little article full of pictures. Also, WP:IUP and the MOS have guidelines on image size. I did not include this photo in the article because it is used in the Merry Widow article, and we already have another article of Elsie in a Merry Widow costume. If we have all these photos, we don't need the Dollar Princess image, which is just an illustration anyhow. Cramming it in makes the text look terrible. I'm happy to discuss this further, but please try to be sensitive to making sure the article looks OK and is easy to read. I fixed the spelling error (did you equipment prevent you from doing so?). I'm not sure what the "Being Erica" links were all about, that is perhaps why the individual was confused and reverted your edit. Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington. In April, we met with some local Wikipedians to learn what they would like to know about other editors’ history and activities (within Wikipedia) when interacting with them on talk pages. The goal of those sessions was to gather feedback to help design an embedded application that could quickly communicate useful information about other Wikipedians. We have now created a few images that we feel represent some of what our participants thought was important. We would appreciate it if you took a few minutes of your time to complete an online survey that investigates whether or not these images would be useful to you. Your quick contribution would be very valuable to our research group and ultimately to Wikipedia. I am the wikipedian of ill repute, demanding disability-access in most of my messages; very few of us have a worse repute than I do. I do try to avoid coming to this page, in order that I would not have to see the sabotage, vandalism here, which is what I do, frequently, find, here.

I do wish that I could figure why biliary fever, Billary Clinton had chosen Chappaqua when it had been only one senator short of being Chappaquadick. When they would need a buddy, they would frequently locate one; then, suddenly, Socks Clinton |Sox Clinton, Buddy Clinton, would,..... Oblivion.


These messages should have archived months ago. There are many problems with wiki software; however, it is the best that I can think of.

The regulations of wikipedia & wiktionary are extremely egregious. The wiki version of wetpaint is nowhere near as good as is the mediawiki version; wetpaint is virtually impossible.

I do not ever recall attempting pmwiki, twiki, et al.

If you do absolutely demand a commonnoun, then, I would suggest that we, each, would be more sincere, you call me something that is more direct, "fraud". &, therefore, I would act in kind, regarding more than eighty percent of the category that is wikipedian, & wikimedian, mediawikian.

Possibly you could comprehend why if I am in a credit-card fugitive mood, I might not sign my messages as frequently.

Then, there are hundreds of my edits that I do want to retrieve, @ least to move them to my userpage circusarena, if you would feel that anyplace else would be excessively confusing.

However, several have been deleted from today.

The first one that had been deleted had been simply about my efforts to edit other pages; many of you are annoyed any time that I would express a problem w/ an edit that I am merely simply meditating about, & have not figured how to proceed on.

I am reticent about making an edit that would worsen a page, rather than improve it, unless, I suppose, if the intent were some sort of practical-joke vandalism.

I do not want the sumtotal to be worse than what I would otherwise perceive.

After what has occurred today, with that vicious edit, & the "vandal" label, & the "disruptive" label, I do reiterate my hearing demand.

With these threats, it does seem like only two remaining paths: credit-card fugitive, or the hearing. I would certainly prefer the hearing, & disability-access-barrier-modification.

I've restored those two pages. Know that the administrators who deleted the pages merely misunderstand you. The formatting that is often applied to your messages makes it hard to read the underlying message and sometimes appears to be vandalism. Try to be concise; as you have been above.

Hello Hopiakuta. I'm mostly working on the French Wikipedia, and as Xeno told you already, I'm trying to make Wikipedia accessible to people with disabilities. I've been looking trough some of your edits for about an hour, trying to get as much information on the situation as possible. Despite of that, I only managed to find very few information.
Here is what I understand : You like Wikipedia a lot. You created an account in 2006, and tried to contact Jimbo Wales, in purpose to ask him to improve the Web accessibility of Wikipedia. But this method was, to say the least, not successful until now. Misunderstandings with other users, who mistook your edits in unconventional formatting for vandalism, made il difficult to interact with the community. You haven't received a work from the Wikimedia Foundation as well. You may see it as a sign of handicappism. To me it is rather a sign of very deep ignorance.
For example, I discovered about one year ago that people with disabilities could have access to the Internet, for example with a screen reader, or other appropriate tool. Before that, I had no idea of it. A few months later, I started being interested with accessibility. One of the best French accessibility expert introduced me with accessibility, and taught me the basics of it. Then it took me an insane amount of time to learn the appropriate techniques to make a website accessible, and to be able to use the techniques for accessibility on W3C's website.
Most of the people, and the Wikimedia Foundation as well, doesn't know anything about accessibility. In fact, they don't even know how to make a high-quality Website (I hope they won't get mad at me for saying that). Wikipedia is not user-friendly, it uses an outdated design, it is very hard to use for everyone. Compared to many other Websites, Wikipedia is technically outdated.
The approach we should try, is to explain to the users. The users are the one who will convince the Wikimedia Foundation to get interested in accessibility. So please, give us as much as feedback as you can. Detailed feedback, on what you can do, and what you can't do. For example, take an important page, like the home page, and please help us improve it. We'll use it to increase public awareness of accessibility issues. I would like to learn more about your disability and the difficulties you are encountering every day. I'd also like to know what assistive technology you are using.
The local chapter Wikimedia France has taken a deep interest into accessibility. In two weeks, we will have a meeting about that. Some french users will also attend a conference about the accessibility of Wikipedia, what needs to be fixed, and how. After that conference, Wikimedia France will try to convince the Wikimedia Foundation to take a deep interest of accessibility.
In conclusion : we may be at some turning point. I hope you will participate in the great improvements that are to come.   • Screenname: Many people on this website have a signature which is vastly different than their screenname, which could mean several hours figuring the historylog. I do want a policy that there should be a minimum of four common characters common to each.

The wiki - programming has many excellent features.

  • Actual name, or a papername, or an official name: This is what a bank would call us, or a courtroom, a motor vehicle bureau. A person is fully entitled to file documents w/ these agencies in order to alter the spelling of this name. Mine has been announced hundreds of times over. It was announced in my first several edits.

Many people call this "legal name"; however, this is not @ all accurate, as a screenname is, in fact, a legal name, a nickname is a legal name. A name that is not a legal name, would, naturally, be a name that is prohibitted.

Would a legal secretary imply that another secretary does not exist? Would a legal document claim that another document is prohibitted? I do prefer an ill eagle profession, rather than a legal profession.

On this website, people do hide behind their screenname; but, you do know my actual name.
