Deleting page[edit]

Deletion of new article about "Helmholtz Institute Ulm"

Dear Diana,

yesterday you placed a tag for deletion of a freshly created page about the "Helmholtz Institute Ulm (HIU)". There were some concerns about copyright and a justification why this article should be published in Wikipedia. Before I had any opportunity to react, the page was deleted and the whole work was in vain. I would have replied the following: 1. Copyright: in fact, there are passages which wre taken from the website of the institute in a slightly modified form. However, as I am the Exxecutive Director of the institute, there are no issues with copyright. I am the owner of the content. 2. Relevance: the HIU is a unique battery research institute in Europe, there is no comparable institute of that size, following such a strict interdisciplinary approach in the development of novel battery concepts. From the current 5 alternative concepts to Li ion batteries, 2 have been developed and presented by HIU. In two other concepts, HIU has recently achieved world records in the performance of these systems.

It would be great if these arguments would be accepted by Wiki and if there would be the opportunity to continue with the article.

Kind Regards Maximilian Fichtner alias BattMan

@BattMan: hey there, I can only presume that because the last time I checked my name wasn't Diana X) and I have not edited "Helmholtz Institute Ulm" what so ever that that message was not meant for me. Best Regards :). Hot Pork Pie (talk) 15:40, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tahuichi Academy[edit]

Hi, just to let you know I have declined a speedy deletion nomination you made on Tahuichi Academy. WP:A1 says "If any information in the title or on the page, including links, allows an editor, possibly with the aid of a web search, to find further information on the subject in an attempt to expand or edit it, A1 is not appropriate". As the name of the academy is given along with several links it is clear that A1 is not applicable to this article. Nthep (talk) 19:44, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Nthep: okay, cheers for letting me know of my error. please could you tell me the best place to get more familiar with speedy deletion process. Best Regards. Hot Pork Pie (talk) 20:00, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
sure. The best page is WP:CSD where all the criteria are detailed. You need to understand that they are deliberately tightly defined so their use is also tight. For example there is no CSD criterion for software but people try and use the A7 web content tag instead and then wonder why the nomination was declined. CSD is about getting rid of that content that frankly will never be encyclopedic, if there is the slightest hint that the article could (note could not is) become encyclopedic then CSD probably isn't appropriate. The next time you feel you want to place a CSD tag on an article, just check against the criteria and if the one you choose isn't fully met then don't tag it. That doesn't stop you PRODING or sending the article to WP:AFD it just says not suitable for speedy deletion. Nthep (talk) 23:47, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Nthep: thanks again, I will make sure I read up on those suggested places.Hot Pork Pie (talk) 11:41, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem. Patrolling pages is important but equally important is that it gets done correctly and we all make mistakes so no-one is going to be too bothered about getting the odd one wrong. I'm not saying this applies to you but one thing that can annoy experienced editors is new editors being trigger happy and not thinking before applying finger to keyboard. YG TEDDIE LEE[edit]

Hello I was wondering how was naming Teddie Lee's real name and where he came from unconstructive and disruptive? For example, it is allowed that Yang Hongseok was able to be listed as a Cube Trainee, whilst Teddie was not allowed to be called a MYDOL trainee when he was in fact a MYDOL/Jellyfish Ent trainee? It seems kind of strange. Alicia leo86 (talk) 07:55, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there[edit]

My apologies if my previous message about Teddie Lee was rude. I didn't intend it that way. Alicia leo86 (talk) 14:33, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey There Again.[edit]

@Alicia leo86: no need to apologies, I did not feel in anyway that you where being rude to me. you have every right if you feel an editor has made a mistake to address the matter with them. Best Regards and happy editing. Hot Pork Pie 14:40, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey There.[edit]

Hi@173.187.168.2: I realized that I have made an error by issuing that warning and have there for-striked through it and made it clear to other editors that it was made in error. I apologies for that. cheers for pulling me up on it. Best Regards. Hot Pork Pie 21:03, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Typo fixing[edit]

Fixing typos is a laudable goal, but please pay more attention to what you're doing. You broke a url with this edit, and I see from your contributions that you've been doing the same in other articles. You also shouldn't correct typos in the titles of sources, as you did with this edit, or edit other peoples talk page comments as you did here. See WP:DONTFIX for more examples of typos that should be left alone. Thanks. DoctorKubla (talk) 12:32, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@DoctorKubla: hey there. you are correct I do need to pay more attention to the spelling corrections I make.I see that you have corrected them which I thank-you for I also thankyou for your advice. Could you tell me, is that the only ones or should I go through the contributions and see if there's more. Best Regards & thanks again. Hot Pork Pie 12:53, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No worries; this is a learning experience. I didn't check all your recent edits, so yes, you should go through them yourself to be sure. DoctorKubla (talk) 13:30, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@DoctorKubla: okay will do. cheers. Hot Pork Pie 13:33, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - you told this IP user that he would be blocked if he continued editing Cellular respiration. Well, guess what? He did. Are you an admin? Seems like time to take action. :) cbdorsett (talk) 15:17, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey There @Cbdorsett: glade to see he has been block.....one less parasite vandalizing WP, althought I don't think that 31 hour ban is sufficient considering the amount of vandalism he/she was apart of. And are you suggesting I should become admin??? if so I'm flatterd but I haven't a considerable amount of contributions or have I been on WP long enough to warrant admin status. User talk page edit[edit]

Hi Hot Pork Pie, with this edit [1], you are effectively re-installing that the User is a "child abuser"? I rolled the page back earlier to what appears to be the normal version, but maybe I missed something? Cheers, Horseless Headman (talk) 20:22, 21 January 2016 (UTC).[reply]

@Horseless Headman: well spotted on my balls-up, thanks for reverting that.Hot Pork Pie 20:27, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ah I see you noticed already, I was surprised to see it reverted by a "real" User instead of some angry IP :-) Horseless Headman (talk) 20:37, 21 January 2016 (UTC).[reply]

@Horseless Headman: yep I beat you too it considering what was posted wanted too give him/her a final warning but I see you have already attached a notice to this users talk page.Hot Pork Pie 20:54, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy[edit]

Hi there, just letting you know i've declined a speedy deletion at Vince Dunn as it contains a credible claim of significance, as the subject plays for a notable club, and there's multiple Google hits for him. If you feel the subject does not meet WP:NHOCKEY or WP:GNG you could consider sending it to articles for deletion. Cheers. Matthew Thompson talk to me! 19:22, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
