Bethel articles[edit]

Hi, I had a quick look at your subarticles. At the moment there isn't any evidence presented in the articles to show that they meet the notability criteria. The relevant criteria are described in the following two guidelines.

For example, for the church and school there needs to be evidence in the articles (as cited sources for example) to show that they "have been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources." The Wikipedia:Verifiability policy describes what is meant by reliable, independent secondary sources. Similarly, for Kris Vallotton, you need to ensure that he has been "the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." I appologize for the delay, but I just replied to your post on my talk page. Tiggerjay (talk) 18:25, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Kris Vallotton, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kris Vallotton. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Thanks![edit]

I appreciate your message and attitude. I plan to incorporate parts of those pages on the Bethel page. I'm crossing my fingers that the BSSM page isn't deleted. If so, I'll put that on the Bethel page as well.  :-) You can find me on the Philomath Wiki.

A tag has been placed on Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Cindamuse (talk) 07:34, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have been away from Wikipedia for a while, so I did not catch the message which resulted in the deletion of Bethel School Of Supernatural Ministry. Was there any discussion on this? If not, I would like to open a discussion regarding opening a new article with the same title. Where should that discussion take place? Houseofisaac (talk) 07:37, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The speedy deletion process does not involve discussion. It is different from Articles for Discussion. The links above will provide more information on the process pertaining to guidelines on spam and criteria for speedy deletion.

Please keep in mind that there is often semantic confusion over the definition of publicity, promotion, advertising, and spam. One of the ways to better understand the criteria pertaining to appropriate inclusion on Wikipedia is to determine if the article has been written in an attempt to manage the public's perception of the subject of the article. Just because an organization exists, does not make it notable. The previous article was deleted due to a lack of significance or notability, as well as unambiguous promotional tone.

Common subjects that are often inappropriately written to promote include persons or groups (for example, political candidates and performing artists), goods and services, organizations and events of all kinds, and works of art or entertainment. Mere publicity, promotion, and advertising need not reference sales or reviews pertaining to the quality or feasibility of the subject of the article. Simply announcing the existence of a subject prior to notability would be considered inappropriate. Notability must be established and presented through reliable secondary and third-party sources before inclusion on Wikipedia can be accepted. Hope this helps.
You need to contact the administrator that deleted the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry and discuss your options with him or her. Please know that it would not be appropriate to re-create the same article that previously existed. Honestly, it would be very quickly deleted. That said, you may be able to ask the deleting administrator for a copy of the deleted article to be either emailed to you or you may request that the deleted article be userfied. Click on the following redlinked article for more information and the contact information for the deleting administrator. Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. Copyright problems with Bill Hamon[edit]

Hello. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://christianinternational.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=14&Itemid=5. As a copyright violation, Bill Hamon appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Bill Hamon has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Bill Hamon and send an email with the message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.

Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. ErikHaugen (talk) 06:43, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, Eric. I am new to Wikipedia, and the article needs either a re-write or permission from the copyright holder for the text. What's a reasonable timeframe for this to happen to avoid speedy deletion? Houseofisaac (talk) 06:53, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Yeah, I think rewriting the text in your own words is probably the easiest way. Articles with speedy deletion tags can get deleted right away, and usually are deleted within a few hours - but you can generally recreate them if you want to correct the problem, and some admins would probably give you the text of the article to help you work on a fix if that is helpful. In this case, though, I see that you removed the copyrighted text from the Bill Hamon article, so I removed the speedy tag and you can take your time fleshing out the article. As a note, it would be good to include a few independent, reliable sources to help establish notability and help readers verify the content and find out more. ErikHaugen (talk) 07:55, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, Thanks. Houseofisaac (talk) 08:04, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
