Query

Why did Mwalcoff and Madcoverboy feel? --Candlewicke ST # :) 17:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Mwalcoff got pissed since U.S. items are so hard to get in, while Madcoverboy quit ITN "...after observing blatant European bias...". –Howard the Duck 01:07, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh. I don't see much sense in comparing one country to an entire continent. From my observations the two seem to be fairly even despite this fact, which is more than could be said for the people of Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean... --Candlewicke ST # :) 21:37, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
By my count Europe leads Americas incl. USA 24-23 in ITN blurbs. Europe is by far the most widely represented geographical area in ITN, with 26% of all blurbs from January-February 2009, Asia excl. Middle East is a poor 2nd with only 16%. In February, Europe had 16 blurbs, the next geographical area only had 9.
The reason why I separate USA from the others is to prove the anti-U.S. bias in ITN blurbs, despite the apparent pro-U.S. bias everyone is proclaiming to high heavens. –Howard the Duck 03:39, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
But U.S.A. is one country... Europe is much more than a country... the U.S. is one country in the fourth most populous continent after Europe in third... so comparisons by users between the two would be completely inappropriate (although I understand why you are separating them for this purpose)... that said perhaps it is simply that the U.S. is the country with the highest amount of contributors and Europe is the continent with the highest amount of contributors... ideally the U.S. should have much less comparably and Asia and Africa should have much more... on hindsight I know the 2009 figure probably really ought to be less for Europe... but hindsight is an easy excuse... however, I feel so sorry for Canada right now... I cannot remember its last ITN... --Candlewicke ST # :) 23:26, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
I think Canada's was when there was a prologue of parliament or whatever it is supposed to be called. –Howard the Duck 02:46, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Howard the Duck, I award you this Philippine Barnstar commemorating the passing of Francis Magalona. It is given in recognition of your tireless efforts to improve the Francis Magalona article, and protect it from vandalism, honoring the memory of "the man from Manila." --Alternativity (talk) 19:51, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
