Speedy deletion of Howtoopenthings[edit]

A tag has been placed on Howtoopenthings, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Notability

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Adrian M. H. 16:35, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your comment on the help desk, and reviewed the deleted article. it violates several of our policies and guidelines. First, the article does not indicate why this site in important or significant. (See our speedy deletion criteria, section A7.) And it does not able from the article that the site is in fact notable. (See our General notability guideline and the specific guideline on notability of websites.) Also, the article as written looks like blatant advertising. All articles must have a neutral point of view. Furthermore, you describe this as "your" site or "your" company. According to our conflict of interest policy, you should probably not be writing about this site at all, anyway. if the site is truly notable, someone else will write about it. I hope that makes things clearer for you. DES (talk) 19:58, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted the article because it fails to meet WP:WEB notability policy. I did some further research, like an Alexa Web Traffic ranking test, and I found it was ranked at around 2,700,000. In contrast, many articles on websites are usually allowed when the web traffic ranking is lower than 20,000. Nishkid64 (talk) 20:32, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
