G13 tag on old drafts

Hi HueMan1 -- I suggest you immediately remove the G13 tag when claiming drafts that have not been edited in 6 months, in case of accidents. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 22:15, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

SM City Santa Rosa and Santa Rosa Inegrated Terminal

Good afternoon may I suggest not to redirect SM City Santa Rosa to SM Supermalls, and let Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal have a redirect to that article, because the terminal is part of the mall (SM City Santa Rosa) complex. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerahGabriel (talkcontribs) 06:41, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

@TerahGabriel: or should I say Terahbytes? Why are you so obsessed with this topic? --hueman1 (talk) 06:46, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Please read and understand this before you block me from editing. It is more organized if you redirect the information on Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal to the SM City Santa Rosa page. The only reason of removing of redirect of SM City Santa Rosa to SM Supermalls is to move the article information of the Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal, because the Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal is part of the SM City Santa Rosa mall complex. I hope you understand this. Thanks! comment added by TerahGabriel (talkcontribs) 06:49, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

No, SM City Santa Rosa is not notable. --hueman1 (talk) 06:52, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Then if not, you should make the Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal as a draft. contribs) 06:55 8 February 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerahGabriel (talkcontribs)

What I just did is that the information of the Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal has been redirected and moved to the Santa Rosa, Laguna page, just to avoid edit wars. Thanks contribs) 07:00 8 February 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerahGabriel (talkcontribs)

Why should I do it? My only concern here is that you are using multiple accounts and edit warring (you even passed the 3 revert rule). --hueman1 (talk) 07:02, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
You did what? But why? The terminal is notable. --hueman1 (talk) 07:04, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
The terminal is notable, and it feels too short on its own article, redirected in the Santa Rosa, Laguna#Transportation article just to be more organized. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerahGabriel (talkcontribs) 07:05, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
If you don't like it, that doesn't mean anything. The article doesn't have to be long to stand alone. --hueman1 (talk) 07:14, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

If you think that SM City Santa Rosa is not notable, why do you think that the Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal has to be notable and has its own article, even though it is owned by the mall complex?

@RioHondo:, @Rosguill:, @Onel5969:, @Bbb23:, @Polyamorph: I am inviting you for this discussion. --hueman1 (talk) 07:28, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the ping. I've blocked TerahGabriel as a sock. Please don't create sock categories and populate them. That's not your job. I deleted the cat.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:12, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
@Bbb23: That's good to hear. Copy that. Cheers! —hueman1 (talk) 14:18, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Just to avoid edit wars, I just moved the SM City Santa Rosa article as a draft. Draft:SM City Santa Rosa, just to avoid edit wars. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TerahGabriel (talkcontribs) 07:33, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

  • Comment Being one of only five officially designated provincial bus hubs for Metro Manila by the MMDA and DOTr makes the SRIT a notable topic worthy of a standalone article. See WP:BUSOUTCOMES. I too believe the mall has questionable notability, but if written from the view point of a mixed-use development that contains the bus transit hub, the mall (which i believe was the first SM Supermall ever built in Laguna), the residential component (Park Residences condominiums), and the BPO towers (one of only four SM locations that have this office space component specifically dedicated to the business process outsourcing sector as per this source), i think an article on SM City Santa Rosa as a livable mixed-use community and not just a mall can survive as a standalone article. And when that article is created, I would gladly transfer the bus terminal and all its content and redirect it to the SM City Santa Rosa mixed-use development article. P.S. Instead of tagging Philippine related articles with more sources needed tags, how about we as Filipino editors make the improvements we wish to carry out directly, and do our part in improving all our Philippine related articles. Thanks--RioHondo (talk) 02:28, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

false claims in AFD nomination

I request that you withdraw your AFD nomination, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cebuano Visayan State. You have acknowledged your original nomination was false; I regard your revised nomination as false too, as i have explained at the AFD. This is so messed up I think you should state your withdrawal and walk away. --Doncram (talk) 07:40, 24 February 2020 (UTC)

Without due respect sir/ma'am, the only thing that is messed up here is you not getting the point that this article is indeed a hoax, sugarcoated with "hmm seems legit" terminologies and filled with "reliable sources", like the work of the most noteworthy writer of all time, John Kingsley Pangan. I know what I'm saying and I will stand my point. If you think that I am wasting your time, then it's you that should walk and stay away. Because—Ouch, what was that? I think you just bit me?—I don't think it's necessary and civilised to leave a message like this to a nominator and request him to withdraw his nomination, no, not in this manner, this is very disrespectful and rude, and you should know that. I did not admit anything except for the fact that my nomination was premature and not well explained. (How many times do I have to say that?) That doesn't mean that the article shouldn't be deleted and the nomination is bogus like what you've said a couple of times. And I don't care about the partition and secession of California, it's two different things, this doesn't make sense. It's not how analogies work. –hueman1 (talk) 15:34, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
I thought you acknowledged the article is not a hoax; now here you are claiming again that it is a hoax. The article is about a proposal, which I gather is an academic's proposal which may not have gained much or any support, but it is a fact that the proposal exists, so I don't understand how you can claim it is a hoax. In simple terms, your proposal was itself misleading (i.e. it was a hoax itself). And you don't have to agree with me, but I don't consider it promotional either, as I explain at AFD.
I don't know if you are a newish editor or not (haven't looked); if I knew you were new I woulda been less direct. But anyhow my advice to withdraw the AFD nomination is simply advice, for you to take it or leave it. And although I have been direct with you here, my advice is well-meant, for your sake, too. Most editors in Wikipedia, including me, have made a mistake or two or three, and I have found it best to admit misunderstanding something or misstating something whenever it happens, and withdraw anything i was proposing based on my misunderstanding or serious misstatement. My respect for another editor grows if I see them admit when they're wrong and try to make amends in any way (like withdrawing a proposal); I think an editor's credibility/reputation drops if they, when proven wrong, insist that they somehow are not wrong, e.g. based on their manufacturing some new argument for how they could have been right technically somehow. Keep it simple: apologize and walk away, is my advice. I obviously can't control how you receive the advice, so I guess from what you say you are experiencing it as rude; i would simply call it friendly advice given in direct terms, apparently too direct for you to appreciate this time. I am sorry I did not guess well about how we might be able to communicate here (sort of in private, at least away from the AFD).
Thank you for responding, anyhow, and I hope your Wikipedia experience is more pleasant in the future. --Doncram (talk) 01:03, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
@Doncram:, if there is one person who should walk away from that AfD, it probably is you. Everyone else at the AfD is capable of seeing beyond the somewhat problematic opening statement and to judge the actual merit of the issue, and whether the article should be kept or not. Now that it seems that the AfD will close as keep, you try to get your way by this rather backhanded tactic. This is not friendly advice, this is trying to win a losing argument by badgering the editor at their talk page after your "speedy keep" didn't gain any traction at the AfD. 2 maps

You removed the second map on the coronavirus page saying "do we need two identical maps?" - but they weren't identical. One was total cases, one was cases per capita (i.e. per population). 86.174.28.98 (talk) 20:57, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

I didn't remove it, I just hid it (I used <!-- -->) because it wasn't there before and it's not an SVG map. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 03:02, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
Hiding it is removing it for readers. "It wasn't there before" isn't a very good reason, is it? If everyone did that, nothing would ever get added! Any why does the format matter? Please be clearer as to your reasons in future. 86.174.28.98 (talk) 10:32, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

COVID-19 Outbreak Cases in Luxembourg

Hi, you are the author of the map COVID-19 Outbreak Cases in Luxembourg. The map isn't correct. You have to consider Luxembourg as whole country. The 12 cantons of Luxembourg are affected by COVID-19, not only the canton Luxembourg. Our government doesn't make a difference between the 12 cantons. Please correct the map. Thanks --Sultan Edijingo (talk) 11:36, 21 March 2020 (UTC) from Luxembourg.

@Sultan Edijingo: Do you have a list of cases by cantons? —hueman1 (talk contributions) 11:45, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
No, the cases are not listed by cantons. The cantons have no importance any more. --Sultan Edijingo (talk) 11:51, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
May I ask you to colour the whole country in red, the actual map with the canton of Luxembourg makes no sense. --Sultan Edijingo (talk) 17:18, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

For depopulating a category that you nominated for deletion in violation of WP:CFD....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 12:20, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

@WilliamJE: But why. The region is defunct since 2017 and its former component provinces were reverted to their former regions, Western and Central Visayas. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 12:36, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

@WilliamJE: HueMan1's latest contributions are justifiable. You may look at Negros Island Region for the details on why the user's acts are reasonable. It has been abolished since 2017, and like what he said, the two provinces - Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, were returned to their respective regions - Western Visayas and Central Visayas. I presume that through your access to these articles there's no need for consensus. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 12:45, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

It is policy and consensus not to empty a category at CFD and before taking it to discussion. We don't depopulate categories whatever the reason they are at CFD unless it is vandalism....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 13:02, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
William is correct, no matter how uncontroversial it seems, please do not empty a category while it is being discussed at CfD. And there is no need for it if the discussion resolves in a deletion.
Also, you didn't do this but don't ever empty a category "out of process" so that it can be nominated for speedy deletion as an empty category (CSD C1). It's best to use the CfD process and wait until the discussion is closed. These are not urgent matters so I request that you exercise patience.
These are just reminders, so please use the CfD process and wait for the cases to be closed. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 14:16, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia PH Month: A Call for Collaboration

Hi!

Wikipedia Philippine Month or simply Wikipedia PH Month is a monthly online event inspired by Wikipedia Asian Month that aims to promote Philippine content in Philippine Wikipedia editions and beyond. Each participating local community runs a monthly online edit-a-thon, which promotes the creation or improvement of the Wikipedia content about a particular group or groups of people in the Philippines and the region they represent. The participating community is not limited to the Philippines. This activity also aims to encourage collaboration among Filipino contributors within the archipelago and in the diaspora and to create linkages among Filipino and non-Filipino contributors who support the main objective.

If you have any thoughts about this project, kindly share it in the talk page. --Filipinayzd 19:27, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Svgs and personal info

Sorry if you are already aware of this, but I thought it would be worth mentioning that when you upload inkscape svgs, the code can include personal information such as the filepaths you store the image at on your computer. CMD (talk) 08:57, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

@Chipmunkdavis: Oh, no one told me this before. So my filepaths are scattered all over Wikimedia Commons? *facepalm*hueman1 (talk contributions) 11:49, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Well, I only looked at one image, but yes, it had enough filepath for me to guess at some personal information. If you're concerned, I'm sure someone at commons could help you delete files and you can reupload them as clean svgs. CMD (talk) 15:49, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Help in converting SVG paths to polygons?

Hello. May I ask if you know how to convert SVG paths to polygon points, so that we can finally convert those polygon points to wiki syntax (for Template:Provinces of the Philippines image map? I have tried this online conversion tool but the <title> element is removed in the conversion process. I used Chipmunkdavis' modified version of the original SVG file you uploaded as it contains the waterbodies, and was able to reduce its file size by simplifying its paths. The code containing the simplified paths is at User:Sanglahi86/sandbox. Thank you. –Sanglahi86 (talk) 13:10, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

@Sanglahi86: Actually, I already started making polygons for waterbodies in the background but did not include them on the code since I noticed some inaccuracies on the map (e.g. the island of Mindoro should be somewhere closer to Marinduque; the island province of Siquijor is located further left when it should be aligning with Misamis Occidental on the south). Although the boundaries are correct, I am clueless on how will I correct these errors; I even considered making a new map from scratch. I'll try different things when my internet comes back. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 00:48, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
You seem to have used Felipe Aira's File:PhlMapCit.svg as base map. Back sometime in 2016, I was creating some maps and also used that SVG and noticed several distortions in the polygons. If you would consider creating a new map from scratch, I suggest you instead use Hellerick's much more accurate File:Philippines location map (square).svg as it is the standard map used in Module:Location map/data/Philippines for displaying map coordinates using {{coord}}. Thanks. –Sanglahi86 (talk) 09:51, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! I'll be starting immediately once my internet decided to work. By the way (of topic), what went wrong about your reversion of COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines? —hueman1 (talk contributions) 11:14, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

PH Province map inconsistencies

Hi HueMan, can you explain what you mean by inconsistent in File:Ph administrative map blank.svg? CMD (talk) 10:17, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

@Chipmunkdavis: The map size and line strokes were altered. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 11:05, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
And what is that inconsistent with? CMD (talk) 12:58, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Like for example, File:Blank map of the Philippines (Provinces).svg. See the rest of my uploads here: Special:ListFiles/HueMan1. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 13:22, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Because these images are svgs, they are inherently scaleable. Width="840" height="1221" is identically proportioned to width="4200" height="6105". I suspect the stroke widths were automatically adjusted to look the same if blown up 25 times. CMD (talk) 13:45, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 00:37, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. It's OK, easily fixed. I do appreciate the clean up you're doing - "World War 1" really annoys me!. DuncanHill (talk) 15:20, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
@DuncanHill: Oh, thanks. Btw, there are about 1400 articles that mentions/links to "World War One" and "World War Two" which is more annoying. I'll probably fix them later. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 15:34, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
My preference is for First World War and Second World War. DuncanHill (talk) 15:35, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Template editing

Hi, you were asking about being able to edit {{History of the Philippines}}. Have you considered applying for the template editor user right? Samsara 19:01, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Wikidata

Is it possible to do this:

  • Add party colors' hexcodes in Wikidata entries of political parties.
  • Change SVGs so that the hexcodes always correspond to the Wikidata of a party whatever it is. (We can't do this on PNGs.)
  • Templates will use Wikidata to know what is the hexcode of a political party.

Howard the Duck (talk) 16:41, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

@Howard the Duck: Maybe... Let me run some tests. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 08:58, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
@Howard the Duck: I think it's possible, the Republican Party's Wikidata item (Q29468) has a "sRGB color hex triplet" parameter (P465). —hueman1 (talk contributions) 09:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: Interesting. I wonder how is that being used. Howard the Duck (talk) 21:40, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
@Howard the Duck: What are we going to do now? —hueman1 (talk contributions) 00:32, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: We'd have to find out how the hexcodes from Wikidata are being used. If they are, they can be integrated to templates. If Wikidata can be linked to SVGs, the better. Howard the Duck (talk) 04:24, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

@Howard the Duck: I guess it won't be that hard but I highly doubt that those hexcodes are currently being outside Wikidata—I haven't checked anything yet. The SVG part is tricky though, we might still have to some work outside Wikipedia for that. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 04:43, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

I think, for the most part, templates with a "/meta/color" suffix are the ones being used throughout Wikipedia. I see no reason for us to be inconsistent with that. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 04:48, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
@HueMan1: They are sorta slowly depreciating that (they're still using /meta/color but presumably you can use names other than what's listed there, and it won't break the template, but I dunno how Wikidata plays into the new system that they're using. Howard the Duck (talk) 04:54, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
@Howard the Duck: We can always suggest these changes to the concerned WikiProject. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 04:59, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Your removal of "See also" section at COVID-19 vaccination in the Philippines

Hello HueMan1, I just want to let you know that the mobile web version of Wikipedia does not show the navbox on any of the articles with navbox templates. Its quite not nice to remove my addition as you did here. Besides there are also some "COVID-19 vaccination in (country name)" articles with "See also" sections alongside the navboxes such as here, here and here. I didn't readded back the same addition in the article since it would lead to edit warring if things are not solved. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 04:59, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

I've readded back the section on the article with the link to the Deployment of COVID-19 vaccines article instead. VictorTorres2002 (talk) 08:25, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
@VictorTorres2002: Articles mentioned on the body of an article shouldn't be repeated on the "See also" section per MOS:NOTSEEALSO. Sorry for not elaborating my reason though. —hueman1 (talk contributions) 10:25, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
HueMan1, its fine though. I clearly understand it now. Cheers! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 10:56, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

Your edit resulted in several broken references; please fix them or request a bot do so if you can. Also, the split from the main article was previously discussed, and it would have been a good idea to raise this on the talk page first. Anyway, I've relocated the content to Statistics of the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, as this is also an approach done with many country articles. Please also remember to link to source pages when making splits per WP:CWW. Thanks. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:56, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
