However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. Here are a few key questions:

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
Do you understand conflict of interest?
Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Did you actually read the entry? The International Cable Protection Committee Ltd (ICPC) is a non-profit organization that facilitates the exchange of technical, legal and environmental information concerning submarine cable installation, maintenance and protection. It has 134 members representing telecommunication and power companies, government agencies, and scientific organizations from 63 countries, and encourages cooperation with other users of the seabed. The strictly ICPC prohibits members from selling products through the committee.

Based on the above, and the 63 countries worldwide that are represented, it this ICPC entry absolutely noteworthy. I only picked ICPC editor as a name to make it easier for me to remember, not to promote a business. Can you please reconsider your position? Wikipedia has tons of non-profit organizations on its site so I fail to understand how the ICPC is in any way different.

Yes, but articles about those non-profits are generally not edited by people under the direction of those non-profits. We don't draw any distinction between profit or not-for-profit in enforcing our conflict-of-interest policy (for a simpler guide to it, see here.
