In this edit[1] you changed Widley to Widely. Did you not see my previous edit [2] which suggests Widely is incorrect and in which I reverted a user of AWB, or have you information that Fort Widely is right? If you think your change was correct please could you add a source, if it was wrong please could you undo it? Thank you for your attention.SovalValtos (talk) 09:41, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I did get a rewquest from you to join the tea house.

However I do not know what to do there.

I searched if there are any links regarding your request.

Hope you could mention what exactly I am to do.

Yours Sincerely

Biography feedback requested[edit]

Your input is requested about an RFC regarding Donald Trump. Here is a link directly to that RFC. The lead of that biography currently says, "Many of his statements in interviews, on Twitter, and at campaign rallies have been controversial." The RFC proposes to insert the words "or false" at the end of that sentence. Thank you in advance for participating. If you have the time, there is a second RFC at that talk page which proposes to instead add the words "or hyperbolic".Anythingyouwant (talk) 00:30, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A message from Tomwsulcer[edit]

How're ya doin? Last night I didn't dream about a horse but rather I was at my friend's house across the street, back when I was a kid, and the house was tilting, so the hallways were mild parallelograms; for some reason, the house was being sold, like there were buyers traipzing around with a real estate agent, and I was a kid playing tag but maybe I owned it too? But why I had this dream, I don't know, but it prompted me to think about changing my wikipedia handle to I dream of houses, so I thought I'd write you a brief message to this effect. Thanks for your wiki-contributions.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 13:08, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the Rampage: Capital Punishment page because the plotline was not at all for the movie it was an page on. Nor is the DVD cover accurate. Someone is just trolling wikipedia. Was it a constructive edit? No, but I just wanted to bring attention to the fact that it's a Rampage movie with Diddy Kong racing and Drake & Josh as it's subject matter. Someone needs to deal with that. 2601:449:8302:2DF0:15EE:7A8D:FEC1:BC66 (talk) 06:20, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A message from Pbablow[edit]

I dream of horses.

Hi, Thank you for your edit, but I would like to state that I am in no way related to Olurotimi Badero. I work for a magazine company in Nigeria and I was asked to do a story on him. To my utmost surprise, I found little or no information about him online despite the feats he has achieved in intervention medicine. This made me take it upon myself to reach out to him and get the information I have contributed here. I am in no way trying to promote him but to make available credible resources about him available online and I thought Wikipedia is one of the places to do this. Thank you once again! Your email to me a few minutes ago about my comments[edit]

I dream of horses

OK, this is a vast amount of information for me so I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing here, but hey ho....

Firstly as someone who has only previously made one very minor addition to one other topic, I had absolutely no idea that I was doing anything wrong. Sorry. If I had read, a long time ago, about Talk Pages then I regret that I had totally forgotten it. Tonight I had no idea that I had one! (Or how to get to it!)

My comment about 'll' usage was a general request for some simpler explanation of the particular issue I mentioned. If you can do it, and leave me on the "to be notified list", then please feel free to do that as I may well make a total mess of the process, given my current ignorance on the subject of the correct things to do!

My comment about 're' endings was not a matter of opinion, that is a factual statement of how I, a BE speaker, of English descent and born, bred and still resident in England, was taught how my language works. That is not information for the benefit of editors and moderators, it is information that every reader should be aware of. I used the {} characters to indicate that it was not part of the main flow, but nonetheless essential information for those wishing to understand BE.

If you really really disagree with that then please move it as above, but then please re-assure me as to how the general reader will have this essential information brought directly to his/her attention.

I like horses too!

It's way past bedtime, gn!ua

Derek Lazenby aka RacingDogRacingDog (talk) 01:26, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@RacingDog: I wasn't agreeing nor disagreeing with your comment; as a native speaker of American English, I may not be qualified to do either. I just want you to put them on the talk page, and/or change the article, wording it in a way that you don't have to use the {} characters---that is, changing the article yourself instead of saying the article has incorrect information. You'll have to realize that if we allowed such suggestions for improvement/debate/what-have-you to be in the article, the article itself would be rather cluttered with such commentary, making it confusing to the reader. I mean, think about it; people are going to reply. It's inevitable. -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 02:34, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected -- but not redirected[edit]

"Unforgettable 1260" KMZT -- formerly classical "K-Mozart" -- changed call letters yesterday to KBOQ. I made the changes on the Wikipedia entry but now someone needs to change the title of the page and put one of those cute little "KMZT redirects here" notations. Thank you!

Thank you, Ira, or whoever retitled the KMZT page. The station is now KBOQ (which used to belong to a classical station known as "K-Bach." KMZT was "K-Mozart." I know, dumb names.). Wikipedia allows us "common folk" to edit pages but I'm certain the page titles can not be changed by anyone other than administrators. The way Saul Levine changes formats and call letters, who knows how long "KBOQ" will last? -- Steve Thompson, Glendale CA — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.249.61.168 (talk) 20:13, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A message from 62.43.4.225[edit]

Why did you reinstate an obviously wrong redirect?

Looking for more info, I went to the page about the Battle of the Niemen River (1944) and found that it just redirected to the wrong battle (which happens to have the same name but that happened 24 years before). On the assumption that no information is way better than no information + a redirection to the wrong page, I marked the page as a stub and clearly stated why the previous content was wrong, both in the Talk page and in the edit comment (an step which you failed to take).

If you are going to "correct" other people edits, you should show some due diligence and check why the changes were made in the first place, so you do not reintroduce mistakes. Feel free to inform the reasons of your edit if you think you are correct. 62.43.4.225 (talk) 22:03, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what the solution to this is; however, the person who originally created the redirect is Petebutt.
We can't have blank articles stay on Wikipedia, and I'd think having only {{stub}} on an article would qualify as "blank". -- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 00:31, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am concerned by your commentary on Bobby Neate's book. Her claim is not backed up by any evidence at all, and the whole book is rubbish. One reason for "complete documented proof" of an event not being available can be that the event didn't happen. That is the case here. The book is unindexed and not a single reputable historian would dream of ever using it. Her absurd view of Asquith as "another Jimmy savile (sic)" (see her blog) demonstrates her, very, POV approach. I think you do a disservice to readers by suggesting that the book is anything like a reliable source, as it isn't. I'll amend the text but wanted to give you an opportunity to respond. On the orphan template[edit]

Hey, I appreciate your clean-up job for AnswerDash and other articles, and the last thing I want is for this remark to look confrontational, but are you 100% sure that this template should go on the top of an article? If I take the reader's perspective, IMHO it's a little strange when such an internal issue as connectivity takes such a central stage... Thoughts, comments? 凰兰时罗 (talk) 04:07, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@凰兰时罗: That's kind of how things have always been done. I'm not sure if there's a more appropriate place for an orphan tag. There are those among us Wikipedians that like things to be quite obvious so we (the editors) can notice them better.- I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 04:16, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's exactly the point I was trying to make. Wikipedians normally do their work for readers' benefit, but with this template, the thinking seems to be the opposite: its location aims to benefit the editors. It's not a big deal, and I don't imply that you did anything wrong, especially if this has been perennial tradition. Just a grain of doubt towards any future, more broad discussions on the matter (that is if they ever take place). 凰兰时罗 (talk) 04:24, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@凰兰时罗: On the other hand, if a reader can think critically, any template on the top of the page would perhaps indicate that the article is in a work-in-progress. It could inspire a bit of editing.  I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 05:29, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So, you envision a reader who sees the template, researches what an orphan means in our context, realizes what needs to be done(!), and this prompts her to start editing? Frankly, I am not entirely convinced... On the other hand, I can easily see a reader who is irked by such templates with such obscure terminology. We don't need to continue this, however. I'm sure that this conversation needs much wider audience to be meaningful, and I don't feel (at least not yet) to make a big deal out of it :).
On a separate note, is it worth adding "replay to" if I'm on the recipient's talk page? You'd get a notification anyways, right? 凰兰时罗 (talk) 16:14, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, even if it inspires one person to start editing, it's probably worth it; making the terminology less obscure would probably help. And you're right, there's not enough of an audience here to effect anything, and it would take a long time to change things.
And if you read the editnotice above the editbox, you'd already realize that the {{reply to}} template isn't worth it if you're on the recipients talk page.  I dream of horses (My talk page) (My edits) @ 04:21, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining this and for your contributions. 凰兰时罗 (talk) 14:59, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
