IBS[edit]

Hi Jeffrey, honoured to have you around. I'm thrilled someone is willing to look at the IBS article, which is in need of improvement. I recently cleaned it up a bit, but there's a lot still to do. Let me know if there's any trouble. JFW | T@lk 15:09, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bias and vandals associated with this article[edit]

I need some help in dealing with a very nasty contributor on Irritable bowel syndrome. I've been called a nazi, having bias and being a vandal because their (promotional) contribution was removed. How do I deal with this? Ibsgroup 21:20, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sorry you are getting problems. Normally for content disputes the suggestion is to try and engage in useful discussion on the talk page of the article, try noting that in an edit summary if he isn't drawn there. If that is unfruitful, then there are dispute resolution processes.
Regarding the suggestions that you are a Nazi etc. are a violation of wikipedia policies civility and no personal attacks, if the user persists you can usually gain an admins attention to look at it by posting at the administrators noticeboard, don't be tempted to get into warring yourself. Also be aware of the three revert rule, this is a rule designed to help stop edit warring.
Hope this gives you some pointers, I'll take a look at the other user and warn as appropriate regarding the personal attacks. --pgk(talk) 22:03, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for you pointers. Unfortunately the individual came back and has added threats to his personal attacks. As you have suggested, I will gain an admins attention as I don't want to handle this after the personal attacks I have already endured. Thanks again. Ibsgroup 03:00, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The threat you mention, from his edit summary on the actual edit is a suggestion is that he will pursue some sort of dispute resolution with you, so I doubt that any admin action is necessary or appropriate. I still suggest you try and calm the conversation down and discuss it on talk, if possible leave it a day or two to let things cool off. --pgk(talk) 07:47, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Illegitimate mediaton on Talk:Irritable bowel syndrome[edit]

Looking at the Talk:Irritable bowel syndrome the mediation by Cameronian appears to have been invalid. Cameronian is not known to be a memeber of the mediation committee. Likely the issue will be brought up for some sanction against those involved. The discussion about the legitimacy of the mediator can be found at Talk:Irritable bowel syndrome#Mediator called in without protocol Kd4ttc 21:32, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IBS talk[edit]

Please look at my comment on the IBS talk. Cameronian seems to be trying to conduct a formal mediation. I put in a comment as requested. As far as IBS, you are the most well read non-medical professional I know on wikipedia, and better read than me! I'd appreciate your remaining involved in the IBS article. Thank you for your kind remarks. There seems to be a failure for this individual to get past this, with or without mediation - which personally I felt was completely unnecessary. It makes it quite difficult to focus on the article and not just on the reckless behavior. Ibsgroup 02:21, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
