British Philatelic Association[edit]

The article British Philatelic Association has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Merope 16:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gooptu[edit]

I note that you added a mention of Fanindra Nath Gooptu to the article on Rai Bahadur, as supported by a link to... "collected works".

The problem is, that link which you provided? It says nothing about F.M. Gooptu being awarded Rai Bahadur. It mentions that M.K. Gandhi visited Gooptu's pencil factory in 1925, and... that's all. Nothing about Gooptu being awarded Rai Bahadur, or indeed anything other than that he existed and owned a pencil factory. As such, I've had to remove him from the list. If you can provide a better source, you can restore it. DS (talk) 13:28, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on India Opines requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 03:54, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
