Jin's draft[edit]

Hi IdkSam,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm a fairly experienced editor and frequently contribute to BTS-related pages. I wrote most of the J-Hope article and edit the others quite frequently. I was wondering if I may edit/add information to the draft to hopefully help it be kept, since articles can still be nominated for deletion after a draft review. I also left a message regarding issues with the title on the page! DanielleTH (Say hi!) 01:50, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DanielleTH:, thank you for the welcome! Definitely, I trust your experience here for sure. I allow whatever you need to do to help keep him up, of course! Honestly I'm not even sure if you really have to ask me! (edit: Shouldn't it be appropriate to talk about the title change on Draft:Jin (singer)'s talk page instead?)

For reference on the format of the information I organized, (so you can see where I was coming from), I'll try to write it real quick. For the general article format, I based it off of V (singer)'s because I trusted that it was already accepted and approved, and he was simply the closest related member in BTS with a page. For Jin's filmography(hosting and television show), I followed the format of Song Joong-ki's and referenced V (singer)'s for the variety show list (although I replaced the 'Year' with 'Air Date' for the variety shows). For his discography ("It's Definitely You" info and table format for charted songs and other songs), I followed V's, and only added the songs of Jin's that had been covered by sources that I could find. For the KOMCA song credits in his introduction, I referenced the way the BTS (band) rappers pages were written.
Finally, about Jin's name. I was thinking about the possibility of using his real name too, but I based it off of the Jin disambiguation page when I was trying to find if the article existed. I concluded that there weren't any other notable other singers with an article written who were known as Jin only(as Jin is, as a member of BTS). However I will admit that I had no idea of Lovelyz Jin. Shinhwa's Jin is known as Jun Jin so I didn't think that he would interfere with just the name 'Jin', and this also goes for the other idols with '-jin' in their name. I decided with 'Jin (singer)' because I personally thought that he really was more known as just "Jin". If you search for pictures and videos of "Jin", BTS Jin covers them all. I also based it off the fact that the other written BTS members were all known by their stage names so far.
My personal opinion stands that Kim Seok-jin is much more known as "BTS Jin" especially because of that Billboard article. I also believed that he deserved the recognition of his k-pop idol stage name more, since I believe even for the OST track, he's listed as Jin. After all, he is known more by his stage career with BTS rather than Kim Seok-jin as an individual, opposed to Kim Tae-hyung with his acting career where it could be debatable. Really, I thought that it would be fine until another singer known as just 'Jin' gets a page, because then it would definitely be appropriate to name him as Kim Seok-jin. (or the singer/vocalist, born in 1992, or even as an entertainer if he gets into acting!). Really though, if it's absolutely necessary I don't mind the change! I just feel a bit conflicted, since I already submitted it as 'Jin (singer)' and the deletion of the redirect is in progress, and I'd hate to let the waiting go to waste! Anyways, if it's organized after the article is accepted as Jin (singer), I won't mind if it's changed to Kim Seok-jin if there's conflict!! Thanks for messaging me! --idkSam (talk) 03:34, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
