Sources for synthesiser articles[edit]

Hi there - just some friendly advice... I appreciate the work you are doing trying to create articles for various synthesisers and electronic instruments, and to add details to existing articles. I just wanted to warn you that blogs and fan forums, like Vintage Synth, won't be considered reliable sources per WP:RS. I know it's not easy to get hold of old printed magazines, but I would try and concentrate on finding articles about the instruments from publications like Sound on Sound, Future Music, EMusician, etc. (I know some of the articles already reference these publications). If you can't find good references for the articles, there is a good chance another editor will decide to redirect them to the main article about the company (Yamaha, Roland, etc.) or delete them. Thanks Richard, i was not aware Vintage synth website was a also a forum as well as a wealth of knowlege on electronic instruments, but if you look at the pages i have done i will also cross reference upto three pages to ensure the information is consistant. http://www.polynominal.com/ doesn't have a forum and in just informational. http://www.retrosound.de/ is the same, as is http://synthmuseum.com/ https://encyclotronic.com/ (which is very encyclopedic!. I will take your point on magazines though, they are a great source of information, and hopefully we can fill the gap of all the lovely synth, drum machine, sequencer and sampler page. Co-incidentally SOS has a forum page too which can be found here https://www.soundonsound.com/forum

Hi Redrose. Thank you for your comments. There was a simple misunderstanding on my behalf as i used a non PD file by mistake and Marchjuly has kindly corrected for me. Linking and diffs[edit]

You probably should get a better feel for WP:WIKILINKing or using WP:DIFFs in talk page discussions, especially with respect to comments made by others. Copying-and-pasting comments from one talk page to another is not really a good thing to keep doing because it’s hard to properly format: leaving a space at the beginning makes proper indentation, etc. difficult and looks like a syntax error. You might also unintentionally cause a post to be viewed out of context if it’s not read in the discussion where it was first made. The post and time stamp will not be found anywhere in the new page’s history and the person who originally posted might not be aware that you’ve copied-and-pasted it onto another page. These things might all seem trivial, but in a thread where multiple people are posting, copying and pasting posts might actually make things harder to follow. — Marchjuly (talk) 20:54, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sequential[edit]

Yo. Would you be up for adding logos to the Sequential Circuits page and template? I'm not good with images and you've done good work for logos on synth pages before. (Note that if you do, the company is now called Sequential, not Sequential Circuits, so we need to have an up-to-date version of the logo... the page might have to be renamed too.) Hi there, i just sourced the logos from the main page for other templates asa i think someone else added the Korg one before me, but yes, the page and template must be updated now, thanks for the heads up, its a wonder i didn't spot this @ the SynthFest i attended two weeks ago.
