The article Jonathan Emile has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Notability of Jonathan Emile[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jonathan Emile requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:47, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Jonathan Emile[edit]

  • Please read WP:MUSIC carefully and understand the intent as well as the technical requirements. The CTV video relates more as a human interest story, as does the other less notable media coverages; in short, this individual's notability in the field of music is woefully nonexistent. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 20:02, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POINT 7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. --Ilecity (talk) 20:03, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And that is where it fails -- the verifiability. No sources seem to indicate that he's the most prominent representative. Also, please read WP:COI if you haven't already. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 20:18, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Nothing wrong with promoting someone provided you can support it with third-party reliable sources. Why don't you edit it back to what available in the news media and then build it up over time as he gets more coverage. Mattnad (talk) 20:21, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed--74.56.19.126 (talk) 20:29, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick edits. Looks "supportable" now. Mattnad (talk) 20:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Emile AfD[edit]

Hi. We must keep the "nominated-for-deletion" tag in place for now. The discussion has to run its course—the usual length is five days—and the person who closes the discussion (someone who is uninvolved, and usually an administrator) will be the one to remove the tag if the article is kept. Let me know if you have have any more questions. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:26, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
