User page[edit]

The remark on your user page ("messing with pplz articles for fun") is not a good idea as it will give others the idea that you may be inclined to vandalise things. I suggest that you remove it. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 09:05, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm gonna do it[edit]

Regarding this post on the reference desk. I hope you were just joking. Things always get better and there's no reson to resort to such drastic measures. Take care. -LambaJan 03:30, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thrilled that it was just a bizzare test. I think a lot of those people are probably thinking the things I said outright, but feel disinfranchized in their ability to do anything about it. The mechanisms in our society really make good positive actions hard to find; or if they do find a good way to respond there are innumerable social pressures that get in the way of enacting it. In this case many people said things that cleverly pointed the question asker into avenues that would be benificial in preventing it, if he would persue them. I think what may have prevented them from responding the way that I did was fear of coming across as overly emotional to the other users. I may be wrong about that, but I do know that often times caring about others and doing the right thing means throwing away your pride and often a lot of other things. That sounds obvious when I say it, but in reality, despite all of our training from movies, religion, etc., these things often blindside us. It's interesting the way things go. -LambaJan 19:34, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
