Bhav dhillon moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Bhav dhillon, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that in this edit to Bhav Dhillon, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 10:51, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use misleading edit summaries when making changes to Wikipedia pages, as you did to Bhav Dhillon. This behavior is viewed as disruptive, and continuation may result in loss of editing privileges. Information icon Hello, I'm Storchy. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Bhav Dhillon, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 11:15, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello IndivarWiki. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:IndivarWiki. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=IndivarWiki|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 12:42, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @331dot,
Thanks for taking a look into my article. I am not being paid to writer about Bhav Dhillon.
Actually, I know him personally through a connect and I felt that his achievements deserve an article page on Wikipedia. So I am trying to create one here to let people know about him. However, I am struggling a little with the Wikipedia's method/language of editing and T&C. It would be very helpful to me if you can point out the issues with my article and let me correct them at once.
I have found a few more references to provide more strength to the facts given in this article. Please reply to this message and let me know if I can make the edits. IndivarWiki (talk) 08:14, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not paid, okay. You do have a conflict of interest that should be formally disclosed(see WP:COI for how to do that). Do you have any connection with the other user who has been making edits to the article? If you have a COI, you should not have moved the draft into the encyclopedia yourself; you should have submitted the draft for an independent review. Note that "to let people know about him" is considered a promotional purpose on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about a person and what they do- it is a place to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the person, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. It may sound odd to hear, but you actually have too many sources. Fewer high quality sources are preferable to a large number of low quality sources, sources that briefly mention the subject and do not discuss what makes them important or significant. I would highly advise you to consent to moving the article back into draft space(and say so on the deletion discussion) so that you can work on it more and submit it for a review. 331dot (talk) 08:24, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @331dot,
Please help me with these queries-
1. Please check if I have edited the template correctly.
2. Should I place this template at the top of my article's code?
3. Am I allowed to edit the article now? I have to remove some citations and add more accurate links to information and proof. IndivarWiki (talk) 09:57, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That is the correct template for article talk pages, if it's not there already, it should be placed there. You should also make a declaration on your user page(there is a template for that, but just saying it will work). In general, you should not directly edit the article(except in the circumstances listed here), you may make formal edit requests on the article talk page, detailing changes you would like. 331dot (talk) 12:36, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Use of multiple accounts[edit]

Information icon Hello, IndivarWiki, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Garry nz (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 05:24, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@IndivarWiki: hello, could you please answer my question on what your connection is with User:Garry nz? Your edits appear to be related. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 11:14, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Need to merge the content from 2 pages[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Bhav Dhillon a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Bhav Dhillon. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.
