Your Sallen–Key bandpass SVG is not a Sallen–Key[edit]

Inductiveload – the SVGs you added to the Sallen–Key topology page are nice, but the bandpass example is not a Sallen–Key filter. In fact, it is a VCVS filter. Even if the amplifier was replaced with a unity-gain buffer, it still would not match a Sallen–Key topology. It should probably be renamed as to prevent further confusion. Thanks. —TedPavlic (talk) 21:26, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for noticing. I replaced the previous image, image:Sallen-Key bp.png, with an SVG, but didn't take the time to check the layout of the filter so I just assumed it was correct. I've reupped under File:VCVS Filter Bandpass General.svg, changed the image on Sallen-Key topology to this one, and speedied the old one. Thanks again, Inductiveload (talk) 23:31, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent! Nice job, again, on the SVGs. It's very nice to have a uniform (and vectorized) look throughout this page (and the others that you've touched). —TedPavlic (talk) 04:44, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Turkmen arms[edit]

You do beautiful work! Do you take requests? Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:13, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I do, especially if the work is needed, interesting or will look very good. What do you have in mind? Inductiveload (talk) 05:34, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Scouting emblems for the smaller, lesser known boy and girl organizations around the world, like Guyana, Zimbabwe, Georgia... is that too weird? Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:56, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No sounds interesting, but I'll need the drawings to work from, and I can't give any promises about time - I have IRL stuff to do too! Inductiveload (talk) 06:01, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I have created a wishlist at User:Inductiveload/Scout image requests , please ignore the bolding, I couldn't make it work, and there is no rush. Thank you so much! Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:38, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Phew! That's a bit more extensive than I had thought! Nothing like a challenge, though. I'll do them piecemeal as I feel like it and mark them off on that page so you can keep track.Inductiveload (talk) 06:46, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that, it's a backlog, and being here in Japan I do not have access to good English-language graphic software, nor am I that proficient. Would it help if I picked out like the top 10? Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 06:56, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, no, I'll get on with it over time. If you want to mark the most urgent, I'll see what I can do about getting them down first, otherwise I'll do it by my mood. If you want to start illustrating, can I recommend Inkscape? It's a fantastic piece of software and it's only getting better over time, as well as being very international. If you're good at programming, you can even give them a hand! Inductiveload (talk) 07:06, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I've tried Inkscape and can't figure it out. None are urgent, like I said, this has backlogged, but I can pick a few that would be most helpful. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 07:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your help! Back in a minute. Back, they're brilliant! Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 09:12, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can't thank you enough for these! Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 06:32, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hope I haven't overwhelmed you. Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 02:23, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again and sorry, I've been sick for a couple days. Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 01:40, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You've gone quiet, did I give offense? Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 08:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, sorry, I've just been working on other things for a bit - nothing personal. If I got upset that easily, working on Wikipedia and Commons would surely kill me! I'll upload some more scout stuff as I get round to it. − Inductiveload (talk) 22:50, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Tokyo Olympics.svg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tokyo Olympics.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:13, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Olympic logos[edit]

Can you SVGify these pictures?

Regards; Felipe C.S ( talk ) 19:57, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I could do those better and much more easily if you can proivide a higher resolution image, or a pdf with the image included as a vector. Thanks, − Inductiveload (talk) 12:50, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regards; Felipe C.S ( talk ) 04:43, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've done the Doha and Prague ones + bonus Doha slogan. The Baku PDF there actually has a raster graphic in it. If you could find another pdf with a vector, it would be good. Sorry to be a pain, but it takes me a long time to do it otherwise. Inductiveload (talk) 11:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the logos of Doha and Prague, and I loved the bonus slogan. About Baku, unfortunately I haven't found another PDF. I hope not bothered, but I will ask a few more things.

  • Can you re-upload Rio's "Live your passion" as "File:Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics bid slogan.svg"? [4]
  • Can you upload the new Tokyo's slogan "Uniting Our Worlds", located in the bottom of the official website? [5]
  • Can you SVGify File:Host city TBD.png?

Regards; Felipe C.S ( talk ) 19:23, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inductiveload (talk) 02:30, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the works. I made the changeover and the nomination for deletion. I hope that the logo of Baku and the slogan of Tokyo not give you both work. Felipe C.S ( talk ) 02:48, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you SVGfy:

Regards; Felipe C.S ( talk ) 05:20, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to upload File:Tokyo 2016 Summer Olympics bid slogan.svg but I made a disaster. Can you help me? Felipe C.S ( talk ) 23:00, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can you upload the new Madrid's slogan "Hola everyone", present in this picture? Felipe C.S ( talk ) 17:36, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can you upload the Chicago's slogan "Stir the Soul", present in this picture? Felipe C.S ( talk ) 17:40, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Seal of Rensselaer County, NY.svg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Seal of Rensselaer County, NY.svg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:51, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

mm' filter[edit]

Hi Inductiveload, I have reverted your recent changes to mm'-type filter because I do not agree with the unnecessary wholesale conversion of refs into templates. That is not to say that you have not done some good work in that edit. The graphs in particular, I thought were a great benefit to the article. However, I was not inclined to unpick it in detail until there had been a discussion and agreement reached.

I feel less guilty than I would otherwise have over reverting you because I am fairly sure you have previously heard my objections to converting existing refs to templates, and would therefore know I would be opposed when you made the edit. I won't clutter your talkpage with my reasons for this unless you ask me to state my case.

Can you explain to me the benefits of the <var> tag? It seems to me this is just taking 6 extra characters to achieve italicisation. It does not even manage to distinguish numeral constants so I fail to see the point, it is just more clutter. As for the patent template, that has not even managed to find the name of the author - very sad. SpinningSpark 10:25, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have replied on the article talk page. However, I find more than a hint of WP:OWN here, since I have clearly added many details to the citations,, as well as giving more ways to look up the information (which you did not even provide at all - the least you can do is go and find ISBN/OCLC/ISSN identifiers). I also added links to the writers and inventor's and journal's pages where possible, which were missing before.
That patent template had a minor mistake, which prevented the inventor name showing up. You would know that if you actually look at what you revert before you hit the button. It wouldn't take much to review others' edits and correct things rather than just revert back to the last edit you made. Inductiveload (talk) 17:03, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have offered a compromise on that page. Also Constant k filter - same issue, same proposal. SpinningSpark 17:19, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Nationwide.svg[edit]

Thanks for the welcome! I have mostly been adding these articles as support for the current Wikisource Proofread-of-the-Month: Natural History, Mollusca (1854), which mentions many binomial names which are no longer in use and not mentioned anywhere on-wiki (hence my emphasis on the synonym sections of the taxoboxes). We still have a long way to go, and many more names to link, so I expect I will be adding to more articles in the future! I appreciate you looking over what I did, as I am no expert on zoology beyond that which I can pick up from the WS work and Wikipedia. Inductiveload (talk) 12:12, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted[edit]

I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon, 1-3 June. Registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, then please register by May 1st and mention it in the registration form.

This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, teaching, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.

We want to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!

I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.

Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.

Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 21:14, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Authority Control Integration[edit]

Hi, I've been researching the intersection of Wikipedia and Authority Control, and have just recently made a Village Pump Proposal to create a bot to expand the usage of a template. I've identified you as someone in the sphere of interest to this project and would appreciate your input at the Village Pump. Thanks, Maximiliankleinoclc (talk) 18:38, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Go Daddy logo.svg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Go Daddy logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:03, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How do I add a cognomen at the Hoyt's quote template on Wikisource?[edit]

See, for example, Hoyt's page 15, quote 11, citing OWEN MEREDITH (Lord Lytton). Currently the template does not explain how to insert this cognomen between the author's name and the title of the work. Cheers! bd2412 T 15:52, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Updated scripts[edit]

Hi Inductiveload. I edited your monobook.js and your Template autoloader.js to update you to the latest version of TemplateScript. You were using a much older version called regex menu framework, so the main difference you'll see is an improved regex editor. Let me know if anything breaks. :) —Pathoschild 21:13, 08 August 2015 (UTC)

I also updated the instructions in User:Inductiveload/Template autoloader. One benefit of the new framework is that your snippet is self-contained; your users don't need to merge functions anymore. You could simplify usage by using TemplateScript directly (see m:TemplateScript#As a gadget or framework). —Pathoschild 03:27, 09 August 2015 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Nationwide.svg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Nationwide.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:04, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Collected Stele Biographies moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Collected Stele Biographies, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 08:28, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Collected Stele Biographies has been accepted[edit]

Collected Stele Biographies, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!
