If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on World Endoscopy Organization requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.worldendo.org/about-us/structure-2/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help me![edit]

Please help me with...

We just uploaded the information on the World Endoscopy Organization which is a non profit organization.

Could you please let us know what we can change on the Wikipedia page so it won't be deleted?

Thank you, Ines

Okay, first thing you need to do is file a request to have your username changed, so that it represents you as an individual rather than the World Endoscopy Organization as a whole. Wikipedia accounts are not to be used by more than one person; if an account's name indicate that it is for use by more than one person, then that account is blocked. The namechange won't take effect immediately, though, so be patient; let me know once it's done. DS (talk) 15:20, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The other thing you need to ensure is that you do not re-create the page using the text from another place, even your organization's own website. Wikipedia and its owners, the Wikimedia Foundation take copyright issues very seriously. You may want to read the copyright assistance pages before recreating this article. Note that, even if you are the original author of text published previously elsewhere, posting that article text to Wikipedia is still a copyright violation. This is because text published on Wikipedia is released from the usual copyright restrictions. If you want to include such text, you must explicitly donate it to the encyclopedia and you then give up some of your rights in so doing. Please consider these points carefully before copying and pasting text into another article. Thank you for joining the project, and I wish you luck. Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While well-sourced, objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. COI[edit]

Thanks for changing your username; you do need to review the conflict of interest policy if you haven't already, before you edit further. If you are a paid representative of the organization, you are required by Wikipedia's Terms of Use to review and comply with the paid editing policy. 331dot (talk) 13:33, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your declaration above. Regarding the article you have created, it will need independent reliable sources that establish how it is notable as an organization at least as far as Wikipedia is concerned. Primary sources like your organization's own website do not establish notability, though they can be used for limited factual information. Wikipedia is not interested in what an organization says about itself, but what third parties state about it. I'm also not certain the copyright issues above have been sufficiently resolved. I would highly suggest that you consent to this page being converted to a Draft which you can then work on at your convenience and then submit it for an independent review before it is formally placed in the encyclopedia. If you are interested in that, please indicate that here.

I would close by saying that an article about your organization here is not necessarily a good thing(that page discusses people but the principle is the same). You cannot lock the page to the text that you or your organization would prefer, and any information at all(good or bad) can be added to the page by any editor, as long as it appears in a reliable source. Just something to keep in mind. 331dot (talk) 14:05, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@331dot: Thank you very much for your valuable suggestions. Yes, I consent this page to be converted to a Draft, please proceed. In the meantime I will follow the suggestions and make the necessary changes before submitting it for an independent review. Thank you. Ines V (talk) 14:22, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
