Your Userpage

Thanks for your help earlier regarding vandalism. I really like the boxes at the top of your userpage (the ones with user, talk, contribs ect.) How do you make them as I would like to have some? Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talk) 15:52, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Regarding [1]

I've reverted this edit for a few reasons: firstly, the article talk namespace is included intentionally, in the event someone has a question pertaining to a particular article. Secondly, your edit broke the template, so no pages were getting placed into the helpme category. When I undid the edit, a total of eight users were placed into the category at once. When you want to make a change to a high-use template like this, please consider suggesting the change first on the talk page, or test your edits out in a sandbox to make sure they work. Thanks. re: Hello. I noticed you uploaded the file, File:IBM Smarter Planet.svg, but you did not use the image on the article for which the non-free fair-use rationale was given! Non-free files need to be used on at least one article, or the rationale is invalid. Please address this issue. Thank you. Intelligentsiumreview 23:33, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

DYK for Euphorbia celastroides

Updated DYK query On October 10, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Euphorbia celastroides, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (see the pageview stats(?)) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thanks! Note:Halloween DYK is limited to top 32 articles ;-) Victuallers (talk) 06:30, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

My Talk Page

Hi, thanks for the advice. The dispute was on Wookiee however, not the article you discussed. No offense, but there seems to be alot of obstinent people on Wikipedia. If there's a tag for when two people disagree to "cool things down" and send the dispute to the talk page, that'd be the most appropriate one there. Doc Quintana (talk) 02:10, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Bibliography

hello again. i've had second thoughts about my total agreement with your definition of Bibliography (over on the New Contributors questions page). References, Footnotes, and Citations are all synonyms. But Bibliography is more properly like See Also, or For Further Research, indicating that the items listed in a Bibliography are not necessarily cited in the References/Footnotes section but may be useful for more information on the subject. what say you? thank you for the detail in your response -- it was helpful. Kenatipo (talk) 14:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

thanks for your reply on my talk page. i did use the Wiktionary to look it up. for Wikipedia purposes, you tell me, definition 1 is preferred or most common. that's good to know. our conversation helped me realize i needed to re-label the "Bibliography" section of the Linda Chavez article, which i did. thanks for your help. Category question at help desk

I just noticed your question regarding getting your toolbox to link to people looking for help or wanting to edit semi-protected pages. I have no idea of the answer to the specific question and apparently no one else did but I thought, since your underlying goal might be an easier way to know when users are in those categories without having to actually visit them to check, I'd give you the method I use for that. Add importScript('User:ais523/catwatch.js'); to your monobook.js and then create Intelligentsium/WatchedCategories.js and list categories there in this format. The categories you add then pop up on your watchlist as they are populated with the name of the user who last entered the category. I hope this isn't completely irrelevant to what your question was about. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:04, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello! Thank you for your feedback on The Tribe article. I will try to add more third-party sources and improve it further. I think the Cultural impact section is problematic and have tried to explain why I think it should be rewritten and properly referenced or removed but User:Lancemitchell insists on adding it to the article as it stands. Is a fan project relevant to the article? Could you help me on how to deal with that section? Thank you very much. ErisDysnomia (talk) 06:32, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

The editor review

Thanks for your review! Sorry about the userbox thing, I was just copying what I saw another user do. That won't happen again. About the Othello talk page thing, my point on that was not just anything random. In the play Othello, that character was really a courtesan, not a seamstress. I made a corresponding edit to that article concerning that. That was a serious comment about the article. About the Windows Police Pro thing, I may not have explained myself clearly enough. What I was trying to say was that Windows Police Pro is not similar to WinFixer at all, NOT that I wanted to keep the article because it affected my computer. Therefore, I wanted to keep it because it was not the same thing as WinFixer. However, may I ask what some other of my unconstructive comments on talk pages were? I already deleted that userbox. Thanks again! The Arbiter 01:36, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Alright, I'll take care of that soon. OHHHHHH!!!! Now I understand why SineBot was acting up. Thank you a thousand times! The Arbiter 02:58, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Editor review

Thank you for the editor review! BTW I understand that I do have a negative view on IPs, and have bitten two, but I have not bitten one since the incident you showed. I unfortunately, as described in that talk post, have lashed out at IPs, but I have refrained from letting myself do that anymore. I do not like IPs because I have seen them do just nasty things to articles and userpages (userpages mainly concern me), and I think that enforcing a rule requiring registration would significantly lower vandalism. Also I note that IPs can be a terrible thing. I understand that there are many which make fine edits to the Wiki, but there are far to many who do not. Anyway thanks again for the review and Happy Editing! Marx01 Tell me about it 03:43, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

It seems i will need to go through and give it a major overhaul, the problem is i am also the coordinator for wikiproject zoo so am struggling. If you would be able to assist in looking through the WP:ANREQ and removing completed articles that would be fantastic. No time constraints and feel free to decline if u dont feel like it. Thats pretty much all i will be doing for the next few days Aswell as assessing articles. regards ZooPro 01:16, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

please undo your reversals of edits to 'miessence'

Hi Intelligentsium,

Please revert the reversals of the edits to 'miessence' made by myorganicfamily. The original contributor of 'miessence' will certainly confim that your reversal should not have been made to 'myorganicfamily's edits to the stub AND that there is no Conflict of Interest. (see below for contact information)

Contributions to the 'miessence' stub are allowed by Independent Representatives under ONE Group Company policy as long as the term 'Independent Representative of ONE Group' is included (and we follow company guidelines...which we have done at 'miessence').

Miessence is a tradename of Organic & Natural Enterprise Pty in Australia (aka ONE Group). Elyorganics is an independent representative of ONE Group and Myorganicfamily is an independent representative of ONE Group. We are but 2 of many more who are equally representing ONE Group.

The ONE Group policy ALLOWs all independent representative of ONE Group EQUAL EXPOSURE and a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD and absolutely no Independent Representative holds exclusivity to 'miessence' or to any other ONE Group property.

There is no Conflict of Interest to the edits I made.

You can certainly confirm this with the original editor of 'miessence' (Erin Ely). The editor of Elyorganics is Erin Ely at <redacted; please do not provide personal contact information>.

Please reinstate the edits made by user myorganicfamily to 'miessence' stub.

Thank you. Ryan Bouffard myorganicfamily ONE Group Independent Representative <redacted; please do not provide personal contact information> —Preceding unsigned comment added by Myorganicfamily (talkcontribs) 19:45, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Your comment on the UBX suggestion page.

Your comment(s) makes little sense and you have not backed it up in anyway. Perhaps if you take a look at my edit history I am in no way linked to any controversies surrounding the contents of the UBX I requested. let me clarify-

  • The UBX on my talk page in no way represent my editing.
  • Why, can you tell me, are you allowed to have UBX saying you are a fascist but not one to say you support a peaceful Marxist - socialist party in the UK that is not exactly controversial?
  • What you said about making "harmonious editing impossible" is utter tripe and would only be a problem to people who can’t adhere to a NPOV. I loath Conservative Christianity and Nazism but I have never made an edit to push my POV on that.--Sooo Kawaii!!! ^__^ (talk) 23:23, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

TL:DR-I have never made an edit to push a communist POV OR an anti-monarchy POV. --Sooo Kawaii!!! ^__^ (talk) 23:26, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

your reversals

Hi Intelligensium,

I'll go ahead and change my username after this message is sent.

I believe you have reverted the edit put forth by the last contributor to 'miessence'. The contribution of that last editor (erin) is actually appropriate and in keeping with the policy (you are enforcing).

I do not know who initiated the stub 'miessence'? How do I find this out? How do I find out the guidelines and including the procedure(s) to further look into the matter of edits and revertions on not only this stub but wikipedia in general?

Obviously I'm new to wikipedia. So please forgive me in the manner and choice of words that you may may find unusual. I am indeed following the ethical guidelines originally set up for internet usenets (correct spelling?). Obviously this is a new environment that takes a little getting used to.

So forgive me again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Myorganicfamily (talkcontribs) 04:05, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. It seems to be a general opinion that articles like "Requiescat in pace" are desirable. So I accept it.--Fartherred (talk) 01:07, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Re: reverts & erinely user & stub 'miessence'

Hi Intelligentsium,

Thanks. I appreciate your response. Note...I did not change username as otherwise I would not be able to get your message. Anyway...

ONE Group is the company behind 'miessence'.

By the Policies & Procedures that Independent Representatives need to abide, see https://www.onegrp.com/docs/members/Management/PoliciesAndProcedures2007.pdf specifically 7.2 ii)Advertising:

Any representative can represent the company in advertisements (including wikipedia) as long as the title "independent representative" is included whenever (in the case of the stub 'miessence') the tradename 'miessence' is used.

Under 7.1 iii) Trademarks and other Intellectual Property of the Company:

The representatives have a restrictive license to use company names, logos, trademarks, in the materials generated by the Company for the perpetuation of its business pursuant to these Policies & Procedures. (the key here is we (representatives) can use the trademarks based on the materials the company has produced).

The Company's links is www.mionegroup.com.

---

There are a few options: 1) remove all references to elyorganics and any other representative website,

and leave everything else as is.
This will conform to the Terms & Conditions of the Company.

2) remove all references to elyorganics and any other representative website,

and include the comment that erin had last entered, which is that all inquiries can go through www.mionegroup.com.
This will conform to the Terms & Conditions of the Company.

3) allow elyorganics and every other representative to represent the Company.

This may or may not conform to the Terms & Conditions of the Company, but it would be ok by the Company as this allows a level playing field. This can be confirmed with an email to the Company at support@mionegroup.com Also the comment that erin had entered, which is that all inquiries can go through www.mionegroup.com should be included (to allow a level playing field for all who have not added their link to the stub 'miessence').

Erin's last entry (the one you reverted) where she mentioned that people should contact mionegroup directly so that the company (ONE Group) can refer inquiries to a representative within the inquiree's geographical location is actually the way the company passes on links to its marketing arm (the independent representatives of the company).

My preference, in ascending order: 3) 2) 1).

One of these should be implemented. If no action is taken, I will revert all references to Erin's links to elyorganics.

Just a test

Hi, I saw the new addition to your user page (because I watchlisted your page), and just am testing it out. So, that's why. The Arbiter 01:14, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Holy cow! I did not think that would happen. Yeah, it works, all right. You had better change it back...sigh...sorry, just was curious to see what would happen. By the way, could I use that on my page? The Arbiter 01:17, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Barnstar

The Righteous Sock Barnstar
Awarded to Intelligentsium for meritorious editing. Thank you for your good work with new articles written by an unknown editor. As part of this project I created an account with a dubious username and wrote ten referenced but badly formatted stubs about Antarctic mosses. You copyedited one of those articles and added project tags to another, which makes me feel a bit guilty about not having written them better (I was imitating the style of a new editor). Will go around in a moment and do more proper cleanup. Thanks again for good faith and good work. Durova362 04:31, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

L.K.M states "Radio Shawty' was created for nothing

Ey, just to let you know, im quite fed up, with Wikipedia.

Why do, yol, always gotta delete my articles. For example, Radio Shawty, aperently its not inportain enough, what about OUT Radio Zadar, that crappy article, doesnt stand a chance against mine, but youve never, seen a single delete tag, or speedy-delete notification, happen on there article.

I think, ive explained, myself well enough. As for U.N.T Media Productions, and Freecast.co.uk, it goes without saying.

Check my user page, for other articles, i created.

AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, CHECK THE OUT RADIO - ZADAR ARTICLE, AND THEN TRY AND REVIEW MINE.

You seem to be having some fun with the portal, i like the idea of the random DYK. Thanks for fixing up my mistakes/issues. Any thoughts on Decembers theme?. Its easy to make mistakes believe me lol. There is still a ton of pages i havnt found yet. ZooPro 00:15, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

I like your Food Chain theme. im easy ur choice. Yes we sure do need some more members, i have contacted some people and am waiting to here back from them, maybe you could hunt some more down aswell. Clarification of Semi Protection Request

Thank you for informing me that the way I requested semi-protection was incorrect and for suggesting a reference point for me to make such a request. I am curious why you would so abruptly choose to deny the request IF you were the administrator? Clftruthseeking (talk) 04:00, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

For clarification, the request is not to "block" anyone, but to make the editor accountable. Positive and useful information is always welcome. The situation with this particular page is there has been a strident effort to make it neutral and complete. However, it has been attacked recently by anonymous user with an IP address out of Italy. At first, the person removed one individual's name. Then it was a few names followed by a minor editing war (more of a skirmish). The most recent attack, again from Italy (most likely a dynamic IP address) deleted an entire paragraph; which was reversed. The response was deletion and the alteration of a persons name written in chinese characters turning the name into an insult and its meaning. These are the finer points that you are not aware of which prompted the request. The hope is to semi-protect the page in order to reduce the potential for destructive behavior, not useful additions. Thank you for your opinion, however, it is based on an uninformed foundation. I am copying this entire response to place on your talk page for easy reference.Clftruthseeking (talk) 00:33, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
I see your point. Thank you for the clarification.Clftruthseeking (talk) 19:22, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
