Fair use rationale for Image:A_Short_History.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:A_Short_History.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. The Call of the Marching Bell

I'm afraid that I've had to revert your edit. Frst, your change from Bang-i-dara" "Bang-e-Dara" wasn't properly explained. The sources use a variety of transliterations; for example, the on-line translation uses "BĀNG-E-DARĀ" on the title page and "Bāng-i-Darā" in the text. Is there good reason to choose one over the other?

Secondly, you seriously over-linked the article. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links)#Overlinking and underlinking: what's the best ratio?:

"An article may be considered overlinked if any of the following is true: "Low added-value items are linked without reason — such as, 1995, 1980s, and 20th century"

I've replaced some of the good links that you added, and I've rewritten part of the article so that the problem of transliteration choice is dealt with. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 10:32, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:AESOPlogo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Hoax?

Hi, Is the "Lord Malhi" a hoax? I've put some disputed tags on his page. Please alter in suitable fashion. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 04:36, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Mr Islescape,

I have noticed that you have placed the article that I have authored under the hoax category. This is based on the fact that I have not provided any references.

Mr fowler/Islescape our family has books about Mr Malhi, by Pakistani journalists, they are in Urdu. If you like I can send you a copy. However I cannot make references to it's ISBN because the material is with the family in Lahore and I am overseas in Australia.

Nawaiwaqt prints an article on Mr Malhi on his Barsi every 12th July, which states just about what my article states. So if you pick any article on the 12th of July from any year after 1991, you will be able to confirm the validity of this article.

However, the authenticity of this article cannot be disputed because I am his grandson and anyone who knows the truth about him would be me.

As to checking the validity of what I have written, it can checked by anyone in the Muslim league archives.

Also our history books mention him and Sialkot convention. How could you not have heard of it?

We have in our collection all the medals that he was awarded at these conventions and I have photographs of Malhi sahib sitting next to the quaid at the sialkot convention.

I have looked at your other articles and I can see that you have particular interest in Pakistan/subcontinent history.

I am assuming that you are more likely than not from Pakistan. If you want I can organise for the material to be sent to you.

However Mr Malhi, nor his Biography is a hoax.

He was a minister for Pakistan, any emabassy in which ever country you might be in will confirm it. The man is not a hoax.

Template:Pakistan

Hello there. I just wanted to ask about this template -->Template:Administrative divisions of Pakistan which you created on May 20, 2007. I can't see any particular task that it serves because everything it does can be done quite easily by using the flag image at -->{{flag|Pakistan}} which would produce this --> Pakistan followed by the text.   • The three-month long Summer Assessment Drive, organized by Psychless, was a huge success! It ran from June 1 – September 1, and reduced the backlog of unassessed articles from 113,385 to 56,237. In all, over 100,000 articles were assessed. Over 60 people contributed in some way.
  • A barnstar has been created for exceptional work on Wikipedia biographies and for assisting the project. The Biography Barnstar is listed with the other WikiProject awards and can be awarded easily with a template. See the template page for more details.

From the Editors

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below)

We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future.

This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
