Jordan Hattar

Hi—I am in the process of building out the Hattar page. I saw you nominated it for deletion. Online there are many reputable sources discussing his activism. I will add them over the next few days, so I would very much appreciate if the page was not deleted before then, as he is certainly a person notable enough as a public figure to have one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VoicesofSyria (talkcontribs) 06:55, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

@VoicesofSyria Sorry, but you have misunderstood something. I did not nominate it for deletion. Agtx nominated the page for deletion, in this edit. So you have to talk about this to that specified user. You can also voice your opinion, on the delete discussion page. You can also write on his talk page telling him to close the AFD. I have also pinged him to this page. Lets see what he replies. When he replies, I will also send a ping to you to initiate to you that he has replied. For the time, you tell all this on the AFD page. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 08:34, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
@VoicesofSyria: My research didn't turn up such sources. The deletion discussion will remain open for a week, so if you're able to update the page and say you did so on the delete discussion page in the next few days, then we can discuss them. agtx 11:42, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
Great! I will be sure to add the information and applicable sources asap. Thanks so much. VoicesofSyria (talk) 18:24, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

Your Teahouse response

I'm not familiar with the expression "Don't bother yourself to ping me" you used here. It's obvious you want people to ask you for help if they need it, but it almost seems like the opposite. Yes, I'm way behind reading archives.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 20:12, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi Vchimpanzee. Thanks for asking about this matter. I wonder how you found such a past archive and why you were reading through all the Teahouse archives, but anyway. Regarding this matter, a lot has been discussed on my talk page which is now in my archive folder. Yes, I didn't want to mean that. Just because of my weak phrasing, things turned our wrong, actually English is my third language, you have to consider this fact. Regards, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 02:21, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
Regarding how I found the archive, I'm just way behind. Ever since the individual archive pages got so long, I stopped reading one a day and I'm just way behind.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 15:27, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
@Vchimpanzee But why are you interested in reading the teahouse archives? Is there a specific reason? ItcouldbepossibleTalk 15:32, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
It's interesting. I learn things about how Wikipedia works that I wouldn't learn from just reading the policy and guidelines pages.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:05, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Read BANREVERT, PROXY, and DENY

Dear Itcouldbepossible, I was surprised by your templating of my talk page. Please read WP:BANREVERT, WP:DENY, and WP:PROXYING very carefully. Yes, I removed additions by the sock such as this. The sock did not fix vandalism, but added various new materials to the page. This falls squarely within BANREVERT. Reverting sock additions is standard practice. Please read PROXYING extremely carefully, among other things you take fully responsiblity for the sock's content you place back in and if any of it is bad, has copyright problem, or does not match up with sources, you are entirely responsible for it as if you made it yourself. --Chuka Chieftalk 15:52, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

SPI archiving

Hi - I recognise that you reverted yourself, but just to be clear, please do not archive SPI cases. Don't attempt to do any maintenance or clerking at SPI - only SPI clerks and checkusers are authorised to do stuff like that. Girth Summit (blether) 12:22, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

@Girth Summit Yes, yes, I understand that totally. I didn't know that the spihelper would instantly do the task. Like, I tried watching how the spihelper works in SPI cases, so I clicked 'spihelper' from the more tab. There I saw many actions, satisfied myself a bit, and then clicked cancel. I wanted to the same thing here too. I thought there would be some option to 'save' the archive, and didn't at the least know that it would be a on click action. I am really sorry for what I have done. I even couldn't clearly write the edit summary, as I had clicked the 'enter' key by mistake. Sorry about that too. And to avoid myself from indulging in such action again, I am uninstalling spihelper so that I don't have the urge to act like a clerk at SPI. Thanks for telling me about this. Regards, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 12:52, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
Actually you know what, I am burning to be an SPI clerk. I know that maybe what I have said something really funny, but still I cannot stop myself from wondering how I can be one. I even posted a message regarding it the SPI clerk noticeboard to know how one can prepare to be a SPI clerk. Now, naturally, the question that would arise, why me out of so many out here? And that is what I also want to know. I how can I prove that I deserve to be an SPI clerk, how can I bring myself to such a position that people wouldn't question, why is he wanting to be an SPI clerk? And in all that desires and wishes, I thought of seeing how spihelper works, and that brought me in doing that archiving edit. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 13:01, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
It's not really about 'deserving' to be an SPI clerk, it's about demonstrating a sufficient level of knowledge and judgment. It's not something that you should try to rush into - read the advice that MarioGom pointed you towards, and then contribute towards SPI by making concise and well-evidenced reports as and when you come across sockpuppetry.
Thanks for uninstalling that script - there really isn't any point in anyone having it installed aside from the three classes of users noted in the documentation - SPI clerks, patrolling admins and checkusers. I can't think of any actions the script performs that a regular editor would be permitted to carry out. Girth Summit (blether) 13:09, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
@Girth Summit Yes, I am going to read what MarioGom has asked me to read. I always on the watch for sockpuppets, but as you know, my area of interest is really limited, but still there are bunches of socks and LTAs, as you might know. But I try and guess for any sockpuppetry and file them at once. Well, is there any way by which I can find all the SPI cases I have I filed? Is there any way, I can link them all up to a subpage of my userpage, to keep a track of all SPI cases that I have started? And what are 'patrolling admins'? ItcouldbepossibleTalk 13:21, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
This is a list of all the project space pages you have edited - it can be sorted alphabetically, so you can see all the SPI cases you've edited. Patrolling admins are just that - admins who patrol SPI and take action based on the filings. Girth Summit (blether) 13:41, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
@Girth Summit Thanks for the page. But I cannot figure out how I can sort the page? I don't see a sort option. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 13:59, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
Just click at the top of one of the columns, an option to sort by that column should appear. Girth Summit (blether) 14:04, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the additional help. ItcouldbepossibleTalk 14:11, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

@Girth Summit: Recently I saw many new cases being open against the LTA Blogs19 by you. Is there a specific way you find about them? Does those account make edits on pages that you watch, and they get caught? Or how do you find accounts that edit in the same way as the previous socks edit? Is there a specific algorithm that you follow? ItcouldbepossibleTalk 14:19, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

See WP:CHECKUSER. I'm not at liberty to go into the specifics I'm afraid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Girth Summit (talkcontribs)
Girth Summit Well, if you don't want to discuss this matter, there must be a specific reason, and you are totally free to. Thanks for all the help and support you provided to me. Best, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 15:03, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
It's not about not wanting to discuss it. If you read that link, you'll see that I'm not able to disclose information I can see with the CU tool to anyone who isn't another CU - policy means that I can't discuss it with you. Girth Summit (blether) 15:06, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
@Girth Summit Ok, after reading all that, I can know understand why you cannot talk about it with me. Thanks for pointing me to that policy, lest I was thinking that I was not experienced enough to understand the facts. Now it is clear to me. Thanks again for removing doubts from my mind. Drago Obrenov Kovačević

I am quite interested to know why this article has been put in the draft space. May you explain? Surix321 (talk) 10:22, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

I put that article to draftspace, because they meet WP:DRAFTIFY. If you want a more detailed explanation, then here it goes. Your article maybe notable, but to be an article is has to meet the basic quality standards that are expected here on Wikipedia. Secondly your article is way behind in 'being an article'. The topic of the article cannot be determined as well. And using only book as sources won't do the work. The sources must be verifiable. How can we verify the sources? And moreover, if it would have stayed in mainspace, it would have been speedily deleted. I moved it to draftspace, so that you could work on it without any one interfering you in between. Your article literally doesn't convey anything. Can you explain me what the article is on? Also a minimum amount of content is required to qualify itself as an article. Your article must also show some significance or it would be CSDed under the WP:A7 criteria. Does these clear all your doubts? Please don't hesitate to ask me if something is unclear to you. Best, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 11:17, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Hello Itcouldbepossible, Thank you for reaching out to me and clarifying why the article was moved to draftspace.
About your questions;
Well the topic is about a Montenegrin Warlord in the 19th century. I will work on improving the sources by using websites and other sorts of references. This article is about a warrior as I stated here and I will be adding to his military career and other sorts of things. I've already improved it but will work more.
Furthermore I will message you when I have recompleted this article.
Cheers, Surix321 Surix321 (talk) 20:07, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022

New Page Review queue March 2022

Hello Itcouldbepossible/Archive 2022,

At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.

Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.

In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 812 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 859 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.

This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Page mover granted

Hello, Itcouldbepossible. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Useful links:

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Arbitrarily0 (talk) 07:10, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

New Page Reviewing

Hello, Itcouldbepossible.

I've seen you editing recently and you seem like an experienced Wikipedia editor.
Would you please consider applying to become a New Page Reviewer? Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; currently Wikipedia needs experienced users at this task. But kindly read the tutorial before making your decision. Thanks. | Zippybonzo | Talk | 07:45, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Thanks Zippybonzo for this offer. But at this moment, I am not prepared for this right. I would like to gain more experience working at this project, then surely, at some point of time, I would request to be a new page reviewer. For the time, I would like to continue reviewing new pages without this right, just like a normal user. Because, you know, with more user rights, comes more responsibility, which I think, I will not be able to handle at this moment. Thanks for asking me about this. You are also a good and experienced user, and I try to follow you always. I am currently under a mentorship, and am currently being trained to be a AFC reviewer and New Page Reviewer. After the mentoring finishes, and I gain some experience with all the guidelines and policies, and after I have participated in quite a few number of AFDs, I am going to request for that right. Best, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 08:43, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Well, I won’t complain, I am sure that there is more responsibility, because I have lots of it already, but I can tell you have a lot to do that I don’t. But at least it is on your mind. 😉 | Zippybonzo | Talk | 16:21, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
@Zippybonzo I don't find that you are complaining. It is normal for you to do so. You found a user whom you thought could be a good NPR and you are inviting the user. Nothing wrong from your part. But let me tell you something more. When I wasn't a rollbacker, there wasn't much complaining when I made a wrong revert. But when I became a rollbacker, making wrong reverts would get me in problem. Same when I became a pending changes reviewer. Accept wrong page edits and you will fall in trouble. Now I am a page mover, and making wrong page moves will be troublesome for me. So it works this way. I had once requested to become a new page reviewer but I had to withdraw that. Moreover, my mentor told me to work as an AFC reviewer before going for NPR. And tell me something. How did I come to your notice? And you said, I can tell you have a lot to do that I don’t. What is there that I can do, but you cannot? Move pages without keeping a redirect (only that is what I can do, but you cannot)XD ItcouldbepossibleTalk 09:06, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
Well, I must say that you are a very good editor, and I somewhat look up to you, so the feeling is mutual. Anyway, good luck with your editing and I hope our paths cross in the future, and I think you would be welcome at NPP. 😃 | Zippybonzo | Talk | 14:06, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for your support Zippy. I also wish that sometime in the near future we can work together and help each other in clearing off the huge backlog of unreviewed pages. The moment I get the 'green flag' from my mentor, I am going to apply for NPP. Good luck to you too. May you be one of the best new page reviewers and be admired by people on this multiverse project. Sincerely, ItcouldbepossibleTalk 05:10, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
