Ben Meyers International Movie Critics[edit]

Hello J J Jeshurun. Are you affiliated with Ben Meyers International Movie Critics? Please review Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. Thanks. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:57, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I am Ben Meyers' International Movie Critics agent and publicist, an outgrowth of an original relationship with Ben Meyers who performed and still performs editing work for J J Jeshurun. We collaborate on movie scripts, novels, and writings.
I did review the COI previous to your request. I would appreciate your comments before investing further time into the edits I have made.
I will not be online with Wikipedia again until Sunday, March 20, 2022 and can review your comments then.
Respectfully yours,
J J Jeshurun J J Jeshurun (talk) 22:44, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response. I think you ought not to continue to edit articles directly in which you add reviews from that website. You could follow the suggestion at WP:DISCLOSE and propose an edit on an article talk page using the {{request edit}} template. If you would like a second opinion, you can open a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard, or, for a more general place to ask for guidance, Wikipedia:Teahouse. Thanks again. Thank you for the concise and prompt response.
I will use the request edit template rather than posting directly to Wikipedia critical response or reception categories with the understanding that the requests may be approved or denied.
Would you prefer to delete my previous additions to Wikipedia or would you prefer that I do that?
I will be online with Wikipedia Monday or Tuesday, March 21 or 22, 2022.
Respectfully yours,
J J Jeshurun J J Jeshurun (talk) 22:37, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the additions. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 01:48, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One further note: You have been tagging your edits as "minor", but they are not minor edits under our criteria. Please have a look at Help:Minor edit. Thanks. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 01:51, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Paul,
RE: COI for J J Jeshurun/Ben Meyers International Movie Critics
If Ben Meyers International Movie Critics begins a Ben Meyers' Wikipedia account and his film criticism edits are added to Wikipedia under that account, will that satisfy Mr. Wales' criteria for editing and bypass the alleged COI?
Ben has over 3000 film reviews to add to Wikipedia for movies currently streaming on Netflix/Amazon/IMDb and YouTube over the next year. He is concerned that this volume of editing will greatly and unnecessarily overload Wikipedia staff as well as increase expense for Wikipedia's foundationally organized structure.
His reviews have appeared and been quoted internationally in film review columns such as Newstardiana (Arabic World), Film Front (Norway), JPC (Germany), and Tomatzoes (Mexico).
We are both confused by the COI inference as it would be impossible for the head of an organization (Ben Meyers) to edit the critical response area for each of these films for Wikipedia. It would be necessary to hire an inhouse secretary or an outside source to do this work. The relationship between J J Jeshurun and Ben Meyers is openly established and not hidden in any way in all Internet traffic.
Thank you,

RE: COI for J J Jeshurun/Ben Meyers International Movie Critics

Ben has over 3000 film reviews to add to Wikipedia for movies currently streaming on Netflix/Amazon/IMDb and YouTube over the next year. He is concerned that this volume of editing will greatly and unnecessarily overload Wikipedia staff as well as increase expense for Wikipedia's foundationally organized structure if we submit each single critique for review and upload by staff when this work can be done by his private team.
His reviews have appeared and been quoted internationally in film review columns such as Newstardiana (Arabic World), Film Front (Norway), JPC (Germany), and Tomatzoes (Mexico).
In addition, we are both confused by the COI inference as, in the real life situation, it would be impossible for the head of an organization (Ben Meyers) to stop his managerial work to edit the critical response area for each of these films for Wikipedia. It would be necessary to hire an inhouse secretary or an outside source to do this work. J. J. Jeshurun has assumed responsibility for this level of his project management tasks.
The relationship between J J Jeshurun and Ben Meyers is openly established and not hidden in any way in all Internet traffic.
The parties of interest here are: The Entertainment Industry, J. J. Jeshurun, Ben Meyers International Movie Critics, and Wikipedia. We see Ben's uploads into the Critical Response area as a win-win for all four entities and do not see a conflict here.
Thank you,
