- Hi J Lorek. I would be happy to help you explore the Idea of creating a Wikipedia page for Christopher Lorek. That would be the appropriate first step, and not the Glenbard South High School notable alumni list. I'll be honest, I don't know if Mr. Lorek meets Wikipedia's criterion for inclusion. I know that sounds strange for a national hero, but his is an interesting case. First, you should read this Wikipedia guideline on Wikipedia:Notability (people). His tragic death definitely has good media coverage and he has been awarded two prestigious awards for his service; but it all seems to be for his death, and not for his achievements (per se). Please don't read that as me diminishing his service at all. Wikipedia just have very narrow guidelines on what is a "notable accomplishment" worthy of a biography. For the record, I think he is "notable" and worthy of inclusion, but I don't any editing with FBI so I don't know how prestigious those awards are. - Also, I assume you are a family member of Christopher Lorek? If not, I'm sorry for making the assumption. But if you are, you should also read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. This policy would discourage you from engaging in any editing of family members. But don't worry, you have my attention now and will do any advocacy for your cause that I think is appropriate, and try to explain any reasons given the might prevent you from achieving your editing goals. - I'm sorry, but it looks like Christopher Lorek does not meet Wikipedia's criterion for inclusion. I asked the military experts and you can read their response at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military history#Are FBI medals a "significant award or honor". - Ms. Lorek, do you have a direct link to the Eulogy in which the Medal Award was mentioned. It is not that I don't believe you, it is just that Wikipedia needs verification from the FBI, and I cannot find any mention of it in the usual places. - Ms. Lorek, while I believe you that he was awarded the medal, Wikipedia would need the FBI to make that public knowledge in order for us to write about it. At this current moment, they do not publicly acknowledge this on his FBI Hall of Honor biography page found at this FBI link.
- If you have a public link mentioning this medal, I might be able to do something then. But me calling the FBI is not how Wikipedia operates according to this policy: Wikipedia:No original research. Dkriegls (talk to me!) 18:44, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
