September 2009[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. freshacconci talktalk 17:08, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising[edit]

You are using your userpage for advertising purposes this is not what it is for! TeapotgeorgeTalk 22:02, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Jackie ohlsen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. RESPONSE TO NOMINATION FOR SPEEDY DELETION OF USER PAGE[edit]

User:Jackie ohlsen I have deleted my page myself. I have not been able to add my name as an artist or painter, not been allowed to write an article, not been allowed to be myself in my own user page, had my identity questioned. I have left my name and user name. Please let me know if I need to change it to user X as my name may been deemed as advertising myself. I see no point in participating in Wikipedia since censorship seems to be the driving force behind it. A HUGE thankyou to User:Turelio and User:Foroa You have been most kind and helpful and I appreciate your efforts. --Jackie ohlsen (talk) 22:50, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry you feel that way, but Wikipedia simply is NOT for self promotion. You can get your own webspace and website/blog for that. If you are notable someone will write an article about you. All good wishes. TeapotgeorgeTalk 07:19, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jackie ohlsen I do and they have.--Jackie ohlsen (talk) 23:14, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I merely "requested" that your user page be deleted because of it's promotional tone. YOU actually deleted it yourself. This page is useful http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_page#What_may_I_have_on_my_user_page.3F

All good wishes TeapotgeorgeTalk 09:07, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jackie ohlsen No offense TPG, but looking at your history, it appears as if your main activity here is to "request" that people's user pages get deleted. Personally, I prefer to work upon myself, but I am not a fan of censorship, so...do what you like within the guidelines. We never know who may take excepion to any little thing. Best wishes in YOUR endeavours as well.--Jackie ohlsen (talk) 17:55, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but you ARE offending me! My main "activity" is reverting vandalism... I have only requested one "user page" deletion in the past three months which was yours? What are YOU doing on Wikipedia? TeapotgeorgeTalk 19:02, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jackie ohlsen Sorry,it was never my intention to promote myself, rather just say a bit about myself, nor is it my intention to be accusatory towards anyone personally. However, I have gone back yet again to check and see if perhaps I have been mistaken as to the extent of "Deletion..." instances in "The User Contribution Section" of TPG's profile, and have noted these Users-"Notice of nominations for speedy deletion" with the TPG signature on them...Dwayne Flanders, Delores Evans,Paivel Kruszynski,(Sept 12) Hope Alive Uganda, Charles Roe the Boat, Keith Wallace, Myself, Muhamad Fazil, Suami Asimada, Mohamid Derrard, Subhash Singwal, Foxy Cher,Miss Tan Galaxy, Blue Fox Solutions (Sept 11) and 65 other "Notice of Nomination for Deletion" all after Sept 1st 2009. While I am sure you feel these are valid, (there were far too many for me to check) I am sure you must be able to understand how one could believe you may enjoy this. These, by the way, are NOT the vandalalism instances...there are a myriad of those as well. It is not my intention to offend, only state what seems to me to be the obvious. You asked what I have done on here? Just tried to make a user page, download some examples of my work and some photos, translate a swedish article into English and add myself to a list of Canadaian and Swedish painters, of which I am both. I have tried (as anyone who reads my history can see) to explain and edit in order to comply to guidelines, even as far as to enlist the help of 2 more seasoned and experienced User Admins. When it became evident that there was no way to please some admins(editors)I was left with the option of deleting my page. I had NO intention of being a pain, but in my opinion, there are a few pitbulls on patrol and perhaps they like it. Sorry to the well meaning and wonderful admins (I have dealt with some) and if someone is offended, perhaps I have hit a nerve. --Jackie ohlsen (talk) 21:12, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that the proposed deletions you have listed above are NOT "user" pages they were articles that all met the required speedy deletion criteria mostly hoaxes or vandalisation. I did NOT delete them myself they were all checked by an admin who agreed that they met the criteria for deletion. I think you need to read up a bit more about Wikipedia and the way it works. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion I am just an editor like yourself, I have no special powers or privileges, I am not an " admin" you are welcome to recreate your user page and any other pages that you care to, but you have to be aware that anyone can edit them OR request there deletion if they do not meet the required standard. All good wishes [and I mean that sincerely] TeapotgeorgeTalk 21:28, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
