Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 13:43, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Draft[edit]

I finally looked at your conductor, sorry about the delay. It looks good. Is there another review of a world premiere? The Reich is fine, but many words of introducing a critic, and arriving at just "elegant" is a bit disappointing ;) - If not a review, more pieces, showing what kind of music he stands for, rather than just composer names? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:38, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gerda - thanks so much for you time, which is enormously appreciated!
How about something like this:

I really appreciate taking your time! Jacksogh1987 (talk) 10:24, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
yes, please, perhaps just put the premieres in the text, the rest will be seen in the ref --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:19, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK great, will try !!!
Thanks Gerda Jacksogh1987 (talk) 18:40, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

April 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:George Jackson (conductor). Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:21, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for your help and advice!
Firstly, this article is not about myself, so therefore is not an autobiography - I set up my account in order to edit and create this article, but it's about the conductor George Jackson (not me!)
I am happy to continue adding further sources, and resubmit for review - any further advice would be warmly welcomed.
With thanks and appreciation Jacksogh1987 (talk) 18:03, 2 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So what is your relationship to Jackson? I can see you've declared a conflict of interest (COI), but it would be helpful to know a bit more, because there may be other, related concerns. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:06, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I have been to some concerts as an audience member, but that is all. So no relationship. I work in a similar profession (conductor), but not related specifically. Conductor Jack (talk) 08:07, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have uploaded the image used in this draft as your own work, which suggests you must have been at close quarters with him at least on one occasion.
Also, can you tell me (or better yet, cite in the draft) from what source you got his DOB? Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:19, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Have I? I found that image from the a newspaper article, but not by myself....
The birthday was listed in the Guardian newspaper last year, but isn't searchable for a source on the web. Perhaps best to remove a date of birth reference? Conductor Jack (talk) 08:29, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @DoubleGrazing, I have shortened the article as advised by further research, and correctly attributed the website photo using Creative Commons. I have removed the date of birth too, as you imply. Does this help? Conductor Jack (talk) 10:37, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
