Fan art[edit]

Hi, many thanks for your efforts to improve the use of images on Wikipedia, nearly always to great benefit. However, on the Tolkien (Middle-earth) articles, we don't use fan art, especially not in infoboxes / lead sections. The articles are principally about Tolkien's writings, with additions on film and so forth. There are articles on Tolkien's reception and fan groups also, where such illustrations might be usable with care, though again probably not in infoboxes. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:18, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh thanks for the heads up...had no idea JadePhenom (talk) 09:20, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:58, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking[edit]

Please read WP:OVERLINK and avoid linking country names like Switzerland and common words like oceans. Please also note the "pipe trick" where you can type [[ocean]]s instead of [[ocean|oceans]], as it makes the code less cluttered. Thanks. PamD 06:32, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well a task was asked of us to add Wikilinks to that particular subsection...and I assumed linking the country would be beneficial to some people as not everyone is familiar with said country JadePhenom (talk) 08:01, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Marine plastic pollution, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fragmentation. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
