Need assistance with disambiguation. Assistance I received earlier from Orange Mike did nothing but reconfirm what I said I DID NOT want to do. I am in the process of constructing a mainspace page for David Ferguson, a San Francisco promoter and arts impresario. I expect the page to be ready within the next 2 - 3 days.

A Wikipedia bio already exists for a David Ferguson, who murdered someone in England. David Ferguson, the promoter, DOES NOT want his main space page identified with (promoter) in parantheses. Instead, he wants a user to type in "David Ferguson" and be led directly to his, the promoter's, page. Is it possible to change the bio on David Ferguson, the murderer to David Ferguson (murderer) so that, by typing in "David Ferguson", the user is taken directly to the promoter?''' 22:09, 29 April 2008 (UTC)JamesHX

Bring it up at WP:RM and try not to violate WP:COI. Thanks LegoKontribsTalkM 23:54, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a sandbox for you to work in[edit]

You'll find it at User:JamesHX/David Ferguson (promoter). Once you think it's ready for publication, you can create a new mainspace article: David Ferguson (promoter). --Orange Mike | Talk 00:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on David Ferguson (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Stephenb (Talk) 07:50, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research/Conflict of interest[edit]

As far as I can tell, there is no evidence that anyone besides you has referred to David Ferguson as the "Andy Warhol of the West Coast". The citation you provided is simply a link to an article that contains the same line. That article was written by Angela Holmes, who works for David Ferguson so there may be a conflict of interest.

In addition, I see no citation or evidence that David Ferguson ever worked with Andy Warhol as you state in your article.

Finally, you have said that David Ferguson is referred to as the "godfather of punk," however the citations you provide do not contain anything indicating that anyone beside you and people who work for Mr. Ferguson calling him the "godfather of punk".

I suggest either removing your references to Andy Warhol and removing the sentence about David Ferguson being called "the godfather of punk".

Inference[edit]

Your article seems to infer that David Ferguson's company, The Institute For Unpopular Culture is a tax-exempt organization. A recent call to the IRS shows that The Institute For Unpopular culture is not exempt. The Institute for Unpopular Culture's website, which you link to, furthers this falsehood by claiming "The Institute for Unpopular Culture (IFUC) is a San Francisco-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit" [1]

I feel you should clarify this statement by saying clearly that the Institute For Unpopular Culture is no longer a tax-exempt organization under 501(c)(3)
