On edits re Pope Pius XII and the invasion of Poland[edit]

On my first edit: Pius XII's first encyclical does not condemn the Germans for the invasion of Poland. It only laments the suffering and evils involved.

On my second edit (using the TIME mag.link): Neither the TIME article cited, nor the other one about the encyclical in this issue of the magazine, mention France and Britain. No approval by any of the Allies is mentioned. TIME does comment favorably that the Pope was clear about blame for the war and suffering.James K. Workman (talk) 18:12, 19 August 2012 (UTC)James K. I am not a watchdog[edit]

First, I am not a watchdog, and the fact that people are so quick to jump to that accusation the moment someone makes an edit that doesn't present the Church in a negative light. I can't tell you how many times I've been called a watchdog or a "child of the Vatican" or a Jesuit puppet or any number of other things. It's ridiculous. We're not all out to get you or hide facts or any number of other crazy stuff. The Catholic Church article is one of over 200 articles on my watch list. Wikipedia alerts me automatically when an edit is made to any of these articles. I just happened to be online 10 minutes after you made the edit and saw it. It's not a conspiracy.

Second, yes, as I said in the edit summary, there is no real relevance. The article is about what the Church itself is, including others' opinions of it. Quibbles about the NAME of the Church are not relevant to what the Church is. And as I also said in the edit summary, it's an unsourced addition. It needed a citation to be included anyway. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment.
