Please don't blank your own talk page[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, it's considered bad wikiquette to remove content from your own talk page that others have placed there. It's like a record of what people have talked to you about - if the stuff is offensive or highly personal you can remove it, but things like warnings (like the unsourced image one above) or welcome notices (or even past discussions) should be left alone for archival purposes. If your talk page gets too long, the approved method of removing content is to archive it, preferably with the Move method. Thanks. If you have any queries, don't hesitate to ask me. —Vanderdeckenξφ 10:16, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template[edit]

Your template, {{Infobox Musical 3}}, is completely broken - you need someone to fix it. That thing is a mess. I can't get my head around advanced template syntax, but you should probably ask a template coder to fix it for you, or nominate it for deletion. —Vanderdeckenξφ 10:16, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template deletion at ABBA[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from an article. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. / edgarde 17:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in Janet Weiss (Rocky Horror)[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Janet Weiss (Rocky Horror), by 69.62.180.166 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Janet Weiss (Rocky Horror) is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Janet Weiss (Rocky Horror), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:37, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:2005 war of the worlds wallpaper 019.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2005 war of the worlds wallpaper 019.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned non-free media (Image:2005 war of the worlds wallpaper 019.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2005 war of the worlds wallpaper 019.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:32, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for your work on musical theatre articles. I have reverted your recent (Jan. 27, 2008) edits to the song list for Oklahoma!, because the guidelines for Musical Theatre structure say: "Song lists should be bulletted (*), not numbered unless you can reference a particular copy of the full score (or full vocal score or Piano/Conductor score) and are using the numbers within." (See WP:WPMT) Feel free to discuss these guidelines on the Musical Theatre discussion pages. JeanColumbia (talk) 14:51, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Soundofmusic2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Soundofmusic2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Howard School (US), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: The Howard School. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Template:Musical 3[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Musical 3 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Fair use rationale for Image:Sky-plus-logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sky-plus-logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 06:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Skyplusbox.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Skyplusbox.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Germanic Europe Map[edit]

Hey there, James. The map Germanic Europe has Switzerland down as Germanic. It's a bit of a touchy subject for the non-germanic parts of Switzerland (see here), and they normally don't react well to being dominated by the German-speaking Swiss. Would it be possible to include Switzerland (and Belgium) as striped green-blue? Best, Trigaranus (talk) 21:15, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RE:A Little Night Music

Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content please cite a reliable source WP:RS for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Template:Stephen Sondheim[edit]

I once again ask that you discuss your addition of "opera" to this template. (See above). Please do not engage in an WP:EDITWAR, I really would like to work with you on this.JeanColumbia (talk) 12:57, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Template:Stephen Sondheim. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. JeanColumbia (talk) 14:56, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jamesmarkhetterley: Your continued unreferenced edits and edit warring regarding Stephen Sondheim and his musicals are, in my opinion, disruptive editing. Please use talk pages if you have an opinion you would like to express. Thank you. -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:14, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Christian nations.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Christian nations.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I tagged the map with a [citation needed] tag in the Christendom article because I couldn't see a source on the image's page. Would it be possible for you to add information about the source of the statistics to the file's description so that it complies with WP:V when you get a chance. Thanks. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Christian nations.png[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Christian nations.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 14:43, 9 September 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:43, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
