Malayala Kshatriya[edit]

Not only did they start wearing the poonool, but if the namboothiri.com website is to be believed it didnt happen really long back...it was comparatively recent in 1617. But i dont think u shud change the name...the best name by which they are known is malayala ksh. while samantha ksh. mite be their original orthodox name, it is often confused with samanthan which is why i think they shud be kept separate.. Hey. I base the name Malayala Kshatriyas on the Travancore Manuals which specifically states them as such. But the same book refers to their former name.
