Speedy deletion of IRON STEEL[edit]

A tag has been placed on IRON STEEL requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. // Chris (complaints)(contribs) 04:15, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Element1 Media, Marketing & Management requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Chris Woltman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. OK - the owner of the content, from the webpage - the guy who ASKED ME TO PUT THE PAGE UP - sent an email giving permission / donating the copyrighted materials. Do I have to do the whole thing over or is there a secret page somewhere where my code is stored?? JaneSane (talk) 23:12, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How does one delete a page they put up?

Family Force 5[edit]

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you.

I was trying to change things that ARE NOT FACTUAL. Why was it changed back?

  • For starters, you removed or changed a number of genres on the band's page. I listen to Family Force 5, and I realize that they no longer have the Crunkcore sound that was featured on Business Up Front, Party In The Back, but that doesn't mean that the genre should just be removed.
  • Secondly, the genres you deleted were sourced, which is frowned upon by Wikipedia standards.
  • Finally, I want to clear up the Transparent Media Group/EMI business. Now since the only information that appears in a Google serach of Transparent Media Group is a vauge page on LastFM.com, there's not much information to work with. Now I see that you helped create the Chris Woltman page, and attempted to create the Element 1 Music, Marketing & Management page, so I'm assuming that you know that Transparent Media Group is a personal label created and run by Family Force 5 and Chris Woltman, and EMI is a company that distrubtes music from many small record labels to a national audience. Additionally, EMI owns Tooth & Nail Records, and handles Tooth & Nail's distribution to national music markets. That being said, Family Force 5 is signed to a joint deal with Tooth & Nail and their own personal label, in this case Transparent Media, much like other Tooth & Nail bands, such as Project 86 (who are signed jointly to Tooth & Nail and their personal label Team Black Recordings), and MxPx (who are signed jointly to Tooth & Nail and their personal label Rock City Recording Company). Family Force 5 is not "signed" to EMI, they are only distributed by EMI.

To put make it simpler, Transparent Media allows the band to control their musical desicions, but Tooth & Nail, along with the backing and distribution of EMI, allows the band's music to reach a nation-wide audience. Additionally, were are going by the record label(s) listed on the back of a given album's CD case. Therefore, the label listings for each album are correct.

I hope this clears up any confusion as to why your edits were removed. Happy editing, --Spence The Chef (talk) 19:58, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The people at TOOTH & NAIL have taken the band off their site and have admitted that the band's label has nothing to do with theirs - it is actually distributed outside of the USA by AWAL (www.awal.com) and EMI here DIRECTLY. Crunk is a MADE UP genre - the band have asked me to ask how we can do away with this. They hate it.

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Family Force 5, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:25, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But how do you know that I am not making the info CORRECT? That is my aim here... I have CORRECT info... I dont understand how info from THE ACTUAL SUBJECT is a conflict of interest. That boggles the mind! —Preceding unsigned comment added by JaneSane (talkcontribs)

What don't you understand? The subject of an article is inherently incapable of being impartial about themselves; and when you get down to information being posted at the subject's request, it's even worse, since the subject is not likely to be interested in anything but a favorable portrait of themselves. That's why we so vehemently discourage autobiography and other edits by persons with conflict of interest. Anything "the band have asked me to" do is bound to violate these principles. --Orange Mike | Talk 02:58, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Graffiti6, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.awal.com/content/graffiti6. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. The article Chris Woltman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable person. No substantial coverage. Existing refs are unreliable/minor etc. Article is promotional piece. Fails WP:BIO and WP:MUSICIAN.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. They are ABSOLUTELY notable. How does this get resolved?

I have nominated Graffiti6, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Graffiti6. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. 黒い白い (KuroiShiroi) 03:47, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is very subjective - I believe you are incorrect. How do we resolve this? I dont get it - this is a band that is signed to a record label - WHY is it not relevant?
