Re:AWB[edit]

Hi, Jared. I just made a list from Category:Unknown-importance Olympics articles and I'm adding an "importance" scale mark to most of the articles listed there. Nothing outstanding. Parutakupiu talk || contribs 23:07, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once you have the *.zip file downloaded, extract its contents to your AWB directory (probably C:\Program Files\AutoWikiBrowser if you're using windows). Then copy the two *.dll files from the zip file's ".\Plugins\Kingbotk (WikiProject tagging)" directory to the AWB root directory (C:\Program Files\AutoWikiBrowser). That's all it takes to install.

When you start up AWB, there should be a new "Plugins" drop-down on the top menu bar. It has a list of supported WikiProjects, if you're not tagging for one of the WikiProjects listed, then use "Add Generic Template" to set it up. Once that's done, there will be a tab for your WikiProject on the panel next to the "make list" panel. You set the WikiProject template name and parameters there. Then look at the "Plugin" tab and click "Manually assess" at the bottom to start assessing. Everything else (making the list and whatnot) works the same.

Be sure to save your settings before you quit AWB, so you won't have to set it up again. If you have any problems, just ask at User talk:Kingbotk/Plugin. Happy assessing. - Jwillbur 22:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There. I've solved the problem. Now, "NA-importance" pages won't fall on that category anymore. Parutakupiu talk || contribs 00:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Event pictograms?[edit]

Challenging! Who's gonna make them? LOL. Parutakupiu talk || contribs 01:42, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't sure what you were talking about at first, but I think you mean the thing that I just did to the Olympic Header etc. template. I wasn't thinking that they would be for specific events (that's actually very interesting, though) but I was going to try to use the same templates on Olympic sports, because the pictograms look nice there. I was thinking to try to get it to FA list status, so I would need to fix up the lists first. We'll see how my recent changes go, and if they don't work as planned, I'll change it back. Again, in no way was I suggesting that you'd make all those pictograms! Haha.
By the way, what program did you use to make the other ones. If I have a chance (that'll probably be never) I'll take a crack at doing some other ones. Jaredtalk  10:54, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it was on the course of those edits that I posted that message. Of course, I knew you weren't suggesting, it was a joke :P Actually, I came up with that idea when I saw those changes and, even though I could end up being the maker of those hundreds of new pictograms (it's better to keep the design consistency), I wouldn't mind! First, I'd have to do the remaining Winter sports who still don't have one.
My initial idea was to take advantage of the existing sport/discipline pictograms and only add a very specific label on it to relate the image with an event; nothing to much, that would be done instantly. But I'll let this turn into something more serious while I wait for developments. Parutakupiu talk || contribs 16:39, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to Olympic sports[edit]

Looks good! However, I think the gray bullet for demo sports is not very distinguishable from the black one. Perhaps if the background color of those table cells was light gray too? I'm not sure. Andrwsc 23:05, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, my problem was that I didn't want to make those cells so that they would stick out. If they did that, it would make them look "special," like they were more important to the other ones. I tried to make the bullets smaller, but that didn't work. Maybe the combination of small and gray? I'm not sure. If you can think of a way that doesn't stick out and looks good, please tell me. I'll look into the background change. Thanks. Jaredtalk  23:07, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yippie![edit]

I know it has nothing to do with our project but, because I have you in great consideration and this was something I worked on for many weeks, and succeeding at the first attempt is really rewarding, I really need to tell someone — Flag of Portugal is my first featured article! Yey! :D

Let's see if my 2nd FA is Olympics-related ;) Parutakupiu talk || contribs 01:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NYG History[edit]

The ref format I am using is fine it's the same I used on Michael Jordan which is breezing through FAC right now. See this please, also templates are not standard. The specific format used was addressed by User:SandyGeorgia among others and is perfectly acceptable. Quadzilla99 03:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to be brusque, I'm one of the many editors who doesn't like templates. Quadzilla99 03:38, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I added the fair use rationals, in some cases I just copied them from the Bears article if they were the same type of pics as that is an FA. I'll look into your articles tomorrow. Quadzilla99 03:49, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Guess I was too late! Well congrats anyway (I assume they were passed). Quadzilla99 13:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
