I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Images on Istanbul[edit]

I see you're a frequent contributor to the Istanbul article. Since I started with the WikiProject Turkey years back, I've been meaning to be more involved in this article. I saw on the discussion page that you had some creative differences with regards to the number and placement of images with some other users. As part of being involved here, I'd like to begin by working to improve the image use, and to make them more encyclopedic. By that I mean that they could be more informative or reflective of the text they're placed next to. I'd say a good image use would be putting city hall in the Administration section, but a bad usage would be things like "traditional waterfront houses" in Demographics, the Burberry store in "Urbanism", or the map of the Istanbul Park Circuit. These add very little about the subject they're placed next to. I also left some comments on this topic on the talk page. If it would help everyone, I'd be willing to go one by one over the images, so the community can decide which are the best and shouldn't be removed.--Patrick «» 06:55, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
