Screenshot licenses[edit]

Hi Jasper124c41. You put up very nice screenshots for Kaleidica! But you must be careful with the licenses. First of all, the cover of the software has the wrong license. It is not a game. I've fixed its license.

Second of all SunsetCollage1.jpg has many problems with it. For one, you would not call that image a screenshot - you would call it a work and must release it under a free license like: {{self2}}

Second of all, this particular image not be used on Wikipedia, even if the company allows you to; that is an invalid license. You must place the proper tag on it saying it must be deleted, or you must make your own work of art with the program, replace the exact file, and put on the proper license (such as the example I put up above). I hope this is helpful. Althepal 06:16, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, Althepal; I'm relatively new to Wikipedia and I really enjoy the collaborative, helpful environment. I will have the creator of the image license its use. I'm glad that Wikipedia is so fastidious in its licenses, I see that this helps it from lawsuits/censordom. Once again, thank you. Jasper124c41 06:37, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All right. :) Be sure it's done soon lest somebody tag it for deletion. And remember that a screenshot of your own picture is not a "screenshot" if you remove any and all parts showing elements of a proprietary program -- it is a work of art. A screenshot will show how the interface of the program looks. Like is a free license screenshot of an open source program. And this one (I hope I'm allowed to use it in a talk page) is a fair use license screenshot (fair use is more restrictions) of a proprietary program. Althepal 06:45, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot, I think I have it all fixed up now. I'm glad to have that cleared up.Jasper124c41 06:52, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The (band)[edit]

The article The (band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Merope 17:28, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jasper124c41. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Helicon Filter Screenshot.png) was found at the following location: User talk:Jasper124c41. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:31, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:KaleidicaCoverArt12_400X.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:KaleidicaCoverArt12_400X.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Salutations, we need your opinion[edit]

Hello, I would like you to participate in a discussion regarding the Brazil article, and how some users have demonstrated to have some racist attitudes, we need to have a more objective perspective besides that of white-rich Brazilians that have been trying to portrait it as a Scandinavian country.

Here is the link, please put your comment, help us stop racism, thank you. Supaman89 —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 23:48, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Kaleidica[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Kaleidica. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kaleidica. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
