March 2011[edit]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to We Built This City, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. -- Doniago (talk) 16:09, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no valid reason for the info to be in the article to begin with, as I remarked on the talk page before editing the article. At any rate, what is the proper method of removing nonconstructive, extraneous information from an article? --Jazzcat23 (talk) 16:42, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't see the Talk page notes, sorry. As noted above, when removing material you should provide an explanation in the edit summary, regardless of whether there's discussion on the Talk page as well. Actually, edit summaries in general are good things to have. Thanks! Doniago (talk) 03:37, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
