Your GA nomination of Pomfret School[edit]

The article Pomfret School you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some changes or clarifications that need to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Pomfret School for things which need to be addressed. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 19:39, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your thoughtful, kind, and professional approach to the GA review. I strongly encourage you to renominate the article in the future. I think if you were to delete the lists of alumni, faculty, fellows, and guests, then the article would pass a GA review, but I understand that you have put a lot of hard work into those sections. As I mentioned in the review, on a personal level, I agree the material from Pomfret's website is likely accurate. However, Wikipedia has had serious problems in the past with individuals and organizations that create Wikipedia articles based on self-aggrandizing self-published materials. Wikipedia policies therefore reflect broad prophylactic protections against the use of self-published material. Unfortunately, that means that well-intentioned authors, like you, are constrained by these policies when building the encyclopedia. In any event, I applaud your efforts to create this article and I hope that you continue to contribute to the encyclopedia in other respect in the future! Best, -- Notecardforfree (talk) 20:43, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 05:41, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I try to remember, but occasionally hit save before signing. Apologies. - Jacques Bailhé 07:08, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
