Hotel Articles[edit]

Please stop copying directly from websites. That is a potential copyright violation. --ДрakюлaTalk 23:35, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • They are also blatant advertising. -- RHaworth 09:57, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for posting on my talk page. I thank you for your contributions to wikipedia, but I have a few concerns regarding your comments on my talk page and your articles. First, I was not blocking your contributions. Two of them were redundant:

  • Embassy Suites Lubbock Texas Hotel, which was the same as: Embassy Suites Lubbock Hotel.
  • Historic Kendall Hotel, same as: Kendall Hotel.

These (the italicized) were nominated for deletion. If voted for deletion, they should not be recreated per Wikipedia guidelines.

The other articles:

Are in themselves perfectly legitimate articles that can be created. I browsed the articles and noticed a heavily biased point of view. Suspicious of a copy-paste from a website, I then checked the source(s). It turned out that the sources were, in fact, direct copies for the articles verbatim. I then marked all the offending articles with the Suspected Copyright Violation tags. This is not blocking your contributions. The copyright violation warnings are not to discredit anyone but the plagiarizer; they are in fact for the protection of the author.

Futhermore, simply being employed by the main source for the articles does not allow you priviledge over editing them. I will not consult with you before making changes that are obviously needed. I will consult with you if you are willing to remove the blatant advertising from the articles. This is Wikipedia, and the articles as you created them stand against Wikipedia's policy of nuetrality. This is not a forum for advertising. The articles are in need of major style revisions and copy-editing, and if you are not willing to allow this, then you should not be editing these articles.

spam[edit]

I repeat: stop posting blatant advertising. To take just one example: Alden beach resort is pure spam: it contains an illiterate "it's" and makes it clear that the hotel is not notable. -- RHaworth 20:30, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User will likely not stop or fix his edits. A response to my tagging: "I work with these hotels online marketing and am adding information I have permission to use. In the future please contact me before taking action on these or any other additions in the Hotel Categories."
I suggest banning if the user refuses to allow any more edits or adds more advert.--ДрakюлaTalk 00:28, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
