Hi Leventio!
As a new editor to Wikipedia I do want to get this right. I am an employee of Tim Schmalz and I am the administrator of his website. He has given me permission to upload the photos that are licenced to him to Wikipedia. How do I go about this and not get flagged for using his content?
Thanks, Jeanne Gravelle Jeanne Gravelle (talk) 13:59, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey,
No worries, its completely understanable. That said, this is actually a WikiCommons issue (as that is where your image is uploaded).
For the case you described, you will need to contact their Volunteer Response Team (see Commons:Volunteer Response Team#Licensing images: when do I contact VRT? for details). In saying that, I see you have already done so with one of the images (though you may want to send another request for the Angeles Unaware image you uploaded, as that currently isn't flagged for review by the VRT, which may result in other editors flagging it as a copyright violation).
Once the VRTs are able to confirm the images' permissions to be released in the Creative Commons, there shouldn't be any further issues.
If you have any further questions about Wikipedia, feel free to ask Wikipedia:Teahouse or Commons:Help desk concerning WikiCommons. Hope that helps! Leventio (talk) 17:04, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
