Copyrighted images[edit]

Sorry, but you can't upload copyrighted images and use them in Wikipedia articles. I've removed the image from the article, and you might note that the image itself was automatically tagged for speedy deletion. Wikipedia has very strict copyright rules regarding images. Because Wikipedia is availalbe under the terms of GFDL, all its content must also be freely available, which means that the material must be free of copyright restrictions. Such an image must be uploaded by the original photographer and tagged with an appropriate license or public domain statement, and the image itself cannot contain a copyright notice. First, getting permission from the photographer may not be enough, because not only do you have to get permission to use it here, you have to get permission that explicitly allows the image to be reproduced by anyone, anywhere, and for any purpose, private or commercial. Second, the image cannot have a copyright statement imbedded in it, so you'd have to get one without the Airliners.net tag at the bottom. If you upload it, you'd need to have the permission in writing and then forward it to Wikipedia...instructions for how to do this are at Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. For further info, you can read Wikipedia:Copyrights. An alternative is to ask the original photographer to do the upload, and license the image himself (really, this is the better option), and details of the licensing is at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags.
