Because it didn't show up for me. Why did you revert it if works for you either way? Johnny "ThunderPeel2001" Walker (talk) 20:43, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
@ThunderPeel2001: - How doesn't it show up? I'm using chrome. I'm not sure if that's whats causing it? If it is, I guess it can be changed. Other than that, it's an unnecessary change. --Jennica / talk 22:42, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi User:Jennica, can you get RS(s) for "Unforgettable" please, I've looked but no luck. The genres already there are about right, but unsourced (afrobeat, hip hop, dancehall). The genres would be similar to "One Dance" by Drake, thanks.--Theo Mandela (talk) 22:15, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Bon Appétit / Swish Swish

Contrary to what you told an IP user here, "Swish Swish" is the third single from Katy Perry's album. The Billboard source says only that her label changed the single. To infer from that that "Bon Appétit" was only a promotional single, a claim that is not in the source, is a WP:SYNTH violation. "Bon Appétit" is sourced as being released for sale and to radio, regardless of it being killed early. I have edited the various Perry articles to reflect only what the sources actually claim. Cheers. Chase (talk | contributions) 01:41, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Honestly, the wording threw me. It's all kind of weird. I didn't mean to 'violate' anything. @Chasewc91: --Jennica / talk 01:42, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
You're fine, it's just that Wikipedia's sourcing policies mean we can't infer information from sources that aren't actually there. i.e. we can't take "Bon Appétit is a promo single" from "Perry's label changed the single". It's definitely not something that happens regularly in music so I get how that was confusing. Chase (talk | contributions) 01:44, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Proposed Deletion of my page

Hi Jennica

I just wanted to know why you are considering deleting my page, all the information on it is true and I think this page will be very useful to anyone interested in Phillip Leo and his history. I can understand the removing of some links I may have added, but I do not understand why you want to delete this page. could you maybe show me some pointers as to where I am going wrong as I am a newbie when it comes to wikipedia editing. Also just to note all of the new material I have added like the copyrights of the songs and albums are solely owned by me.

Thank you for understanding

Kind Regards

Pep67

@Pep67: I stated the reason why in the deletion header: "No chart info or review. Non-notable". There are guidelines for notability, and the album fails those guidelines: WP:NALBUMS. And it probably isn't a good idea to write articles about you and your own material. see WP:COISELF. --Jennica / talk 01:38, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Notes / References

Hi, you changed the section heading "Notes" to "References" on a page I created. However, both are accepted, and they shouldn't be changed from one to another (in either direction). Please see WP:ASL: "This section, if needed, is usually titled "Notes" or "References"". Fram (talk) 14:24, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

Damn Page Revision

If DNA isnt a single because of the source then why does Slippery by Migos count as a single even though its from the same source and that page has been untouched for days? Is it because the person who posted it was an actual user? Double standards... 2604:2000:D05A:CC00:D5B1:E59E:1F63:5A2A (talk) 22:45, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

DNA is definitely a single but i cannot for the life of me find a legitimate radio add date/good source. Surprisingly, Loyalty and DNA were both sent to radio like the same week. (the week after the album dropped). BlaccCrab (talk) 23:45, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
@2604:2000:D05A:CC00:D5B1:E59E:1F63:5A2A: uh. no double standards didn't even come to mind. I don't monitor that page so I can't speak for what's going on with that but it needs to be a reliable source. That's what's played into my reverts. No need to take it personally. --Jennica / talk 00:05, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi User:Jennica, looking at "I Got U", where it calls it tropical house, but the term "tropical house" was very rarely used at the time, when a song like this would be called deep house, Balearic beat, what should genres be? Can you find any sources? Cheers.--Theo Mandela (talk) 02:57, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

@Theo Mandela: I can't really find much, but it does say Balearic Beat is sourced in the critical reception section. --Jennica / talk 03:22, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

Review of 16 Wives

Hello Jennica,

I saw your review of the album 16 Wives. Jovi is a notable musician in Cameroon. He is the only contemporary Cameroonian musician to be featured respected international publications like the BBC, the Guardian, The Fader, Vibe Magazine, El Pais, as well as French and African magazines. I used several international sources

Juene Afrique is the most read Pan-african newspaper on the continent, Vibe Magazine is one of the most respected music magazines in the US, Afropop Worldwide is a NY-based Peabody-award winning African music organization, Je Wanda is a major French African online culture magazine. I could add numerous Cameroonian sources, but I chose international ones. If you look at the artist, Cassper Nyovest, for example (one of the biggest artists in South Africa), his 2017 third album citations include only one international source (a Nigerian music magazine). The rest are all South African. Yemi Alade, one of the most popular Nigerian musicians, does not have one international review or mention of her 2016 album. Davido, one of the most popular African artists, does not have one international music source on his most recent album. So in comparison, Jovi gets written up in serious music publications. For notability, there are artists such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Becca_Bradley, for example, who are not flagged on their page, but are definitely not notable. I simply want the article to be judged fairly, in comparison to other contemporary African musicians, and will make any changes based on suggestions you have. Thank you! I'm not sure what table you are referring to, although possibly there would be no need for this. Rusty1111 : Talk 08:15, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Clarification

"60em is not a thing." 60em is a width just as 35em is for references. Can you provide some additional clarification as to what you mean by this statement along with substantive proof? On your "note to self" 30 em is 3 columns is not a true statement. Check for instance Ideology of the SS and you'll see that 30em created 4 rows. While I am not sure about this, I think width is affected by additional factors like the length of the source citations etc. By the way -- not sure what was productive about your edit to the Hitler Youth page as its appearance was perfectly acceptable before your edit. Obenritter (talk) 16:13, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

@Obenritter: I don't see it in the Template:Reflist#Columns but it does list a few (20em, 30em). 60em is not widely used. On Ideology of the SS, it's "20em" that's giving it 4 columns - not 3. I use 35em for 2 columns, 30em for 3 and 20em for 4 columns. I simply searched for 60em and changed it because it's not a widely used parameter. --Jennica / talk 20:51, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Fair enough on 60em -- but that often makes 2 columns. If you look again at Ideology of the SS under the Bibliography -- note that 30em is giving 4 columns not 20em. --Obenritter (talk) 01:32, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
@Obenritter: It shows 3 columns under Bibliography for me. It adjusts depending on how big your screen is. --Jennica / talk 01:48, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
That makes sense. Sorry this did not occur to me sooner. --Obenritter (talk) 03:57, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Melodrama (Lorde album)

Hey! Be on the lookout for IPs who may edit war on Melodrama (Lorde album)—one just removed pop from the genre saying "pop is implied in electropop", which I reverted because the album isn't entirely electropop and it is still sourced on the article as pop as well. It may even be our old IP friend, but I don't know—I'm wary of all IPs writing possibly snarky edit summaries and editing from mobile nowadays. Ss112 23:07, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, It seems you edited the page Jibin George Sebastian . Will you be able to remove the CSD 5 tag ? 180.215.123.193 (talk) 04:29, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

Uh no? you're not supposed to remove them. it says it was created by a banned user. This isn't something you ask of someone else. --Jennica / talk 04:32, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
@Ferret: and @Sergecross73: is this against some kind of policy? He's already solicited on 2 other users pages to try and remove a speedy delete tag. --Jennica / talk 04:34, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
I'm not aware of any policy that says anon users cannot contest/remove CSD tags, in general. Canvassing is generally frowned on though. That said, this one already got deleted, seems like it was the sock contesting it. Both the IP and a new SPA were blocked. -- ferret (talk) 11:04, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I mean, it's sort of canvassing, because they were asking with a specifically intended action, though there's no particular reason for them to have believed that you in particular would be inclined to side with them, so its kind of a weak example too. You're right to be cautious/skeptical though – definitely shady for someone to ask to remove a CSD without actually citing an actual reason. And as Ferret touches on, in actuality, anyone can remove CSD tags, with the exception of the respective article creator. So, the only reason the IP couldn't do it, is because they were the article creator (through sock-puppetry). Sort of bizarre that they'd be so mindful of the CSD rules, but not the block evasion rules, but I guess they probably thought it would look better if an established editor removed the CSD tag or something... Sergecross73 msg me 12:57, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jennica. I'm curious about why you moved That One to That One (disambiguation). The "(disambiguation)" in the title isn't needed when the title "That One" is not otherwise used. Do you perhaps think that one of the listings at the disambiguation page should be a primary topic? Perhaps That One should be redirected there, in that case, instead of to That One (disambiguation). It's not a big deal to me one way or another, just wondering if I did something wrong or am not understanding Wikipedia conventions related to disambig pages. Peacock (talk) 16:15, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

@PCock: Oh, I didn't know this. My bad. It could be moved back then. --Jennica / talk 19:38, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

Touch (Amerie song)

Hey, just saw some of your recent edits, including one to Touch (Amerie song). Did you intentionally add spacing to headings? I thought you said a while ago after I brought it up that you weren't fussed changing it either way. Just wanted to know! Ss112 11:42, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

@Ss112: I did. But it was via a script. I'll be more attentive next time. I use User:Remember the dot/Syntax highlighter this and that article was just one big colored mess [like all red], which tells me something is incorrectly formatted. I use the general formatting script and it gets rid of the redness. I'll make a script right now so it's a one click fix for the header spaces --Jennica / talk 11:48, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

no grouping; WP:MOSALBUM

You changed the Personnel listings at Body and Soul (Ray Nance album) and Life Is a Many Splendored Gig, with the edit summary "no grouping; WP:MOSALBUM". I don't see anything on such grouping at WP:MOSALBUM; is it there? EddieHugh (talk) 11:54, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

@EddieHugh: I swore I read that somewhere but I don't see it, but none of the examples have the names grouped. Maybe @Koavf: could give us some insight. --Jennica / talk 11:59, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
The way that I wrote it has no grouping--I think it's a bad idea. Especially if someone does multiple things on an album. Of course, others are free to have a different opinion but I am definitely opposed to that style. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:24, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Big Fish Theory

Hey, I know you may not be interested in the album—nor am I, really—but do you think there's any way to determine if the credits on Big Fish Theory are official featuring credits, or uncredited? Not that I'm worried about the credits being added to note parameters on the album, just that I added a song peak to Staples' discography and was unsure whether the credit was official or a "Hymn for the Weekend, Beyonce provides uncredited vocals" situation. Edit: Also sent you another email. Ss112 06:23, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

I'd have to search for an album booklet I guess. I didn't add them btw--Jennica / talk 06:51, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I know, just thought you may know or be able to find out quickly. Apparently it was released physically as a CD in a jewel case without a booklet (so you can see the CD sitting in the tray), with a line that says "Credits can be found on vincestaples.com/credits" (or something), at an address that doesn't even exist on his site? [6] It was on my watchlist to prevent vandalism and other unconstructive edits. I have just removed it because of the edit. Cheers. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:58, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

Yes it is. And I did an edit earlier where I moved some stuff around -- then I used a 'general formatting' script. It usually puts spaces between the header code and the title, so I made a separate script to close the spaces. There is no guideline or requirement about this – to me it is unnecessary to have the spaces. The warring seems especially frivolous in this situation since it doesn't change the appearance at all. I was just trying to fix what I thought was a mistake from the first script.--Jennica / talk 08:13, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Kane Churko ratio.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

Speedy deletion declined: Aries Tour

Ciurry (talk) 00:22, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jennica, I read your message about Speedy deletion of "Aries Tour" page for this reason: "because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia". I try to explain you: the page is referes to a tour of latin american singer LUIS MIGUEL, considered the FRANK SINATRA of Latin America. In wikipedia there are a lot of pages about Luis Miguel, his life, his albums and tours, in english and spanish language. In particular there are two pages about his tours that link the pages aboutof every singol tour:

  • Categoría:Giras musicales de Luis Miguel wich links at spanish page of the Aries tour
  • List of Luis Miguel concert tours, that until 2017/07/04 did not link at english wiki page of Aries Tour because it did not exist!

And so I have wanted create it to complete information about Aries tour in english version!

I was wrong to not leaving the article in DRAFT to verify the formatting correct and complete some changes.

What do I need to do to restore the page and complete it?

thank Ciurry (talk) 00:22, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

@Ciurry: The page is still intact and no longer being deleted. It just does not meet notability guidelines. It needs references. See WP:CONCERT. --Jennica / talk 00:31, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Tobyjamesaus

Hi, I just saw your comment on Tobyjamesaus's talk page, where you said "I fix up your articles all the time and you 'thank' me but you don't seem to carry out the changes with the next article." I'm in a similar predicament with him – from correcting letter case in titles, removing Australian certifications that are incorrect or do not exist (perhaps based an unreliable source he read online, with no reliable source to back it up), correcting release months/dates. I think he is a well-meaning, prolific editor, but unfortunately many of his edits are incorrect when it comes to the details. I've offered to share some resources I have for Australian chart information/release dates/certifications etc. with him, if he contacts me through the link on my user page (I'd rather he added accurate information that I didn't need to regularly fix up), but he hasn't taken it up yet. What can we do?Nqr9 (talk) 17:13, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Hmm. @Nqr9: I don't know what can be done. I've seen editors be banned for not displaying competence. I share the same frustration as you -- his edits do not improve even with guidance. I am at a loss unless you want to escalate it to the admins noticeboard or something... but I don't think it's that severe [yet]. --Jennica / talk 21:01, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Tracklist/Track listing

"Track listing.

Track listing.

Track listing.

I don't know how many times it has to be said. It's not "tracklist". It's annoying to have to correct this all the time. It's not the correct header title." --Jennica / talk 03:21, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello Jennica. Where is the WP guideline that says "tracklist" cannot be used? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:58, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
@In ictu oculi: here: at the MOSALBUM. It never says "Tracklist". "Track listing" is correct per the album manual of style. I know of another editor who goes around correcting "Tracklist" to "Track listing". --Jennica / talk 07:54, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
It doesn't actually say the other English variants can't be used. Probably should blame Kevin Lewandowski. But okay if you want to correct correct. But be nice to people. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:11, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
@In ictu oculi: Sorry. It's only frustrating since I've mentioned it before. I don't stray too far from the MOSALBUM... Maybe @Koavf: has some insight on this. --Jennica / talk 08:14, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
I'm happy to do it when I remember. But come on, there is variation in British and US sources between track list, tracklist, tracklisting, and so on. If you want perfect consistency then go for it. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:23, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

@In ictu oculi: It doesn't matter that other sources say "Track list" or "Tracklist", etc.; "Track listing" is a wikipedia header title -- and it is consistent. You're the one deviating from it. If I search for "Tracklist" on wiki right now, no articles contain it. You're just about the only 'seasoned' editor doing it. I know Discogs uses "Tracklist" and it's just not the term that is used here on wiki. --Jennica / talk 08:25, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

If nothing else, {{Track listing}} generates "Track listing", so it's better to be consistent with the thousands of articles which employ that. I agree that it's a small issue but that's a good argument for it being uniform. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 17:25, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Edit inquiry – Lana Del Rey

Dear Jennica,

since I noticed that you made some edits on the Lana Del Rey´s Wikipedia page, I would very much like to ask you whether it would be possible to add there a scholarly article on the work of Lana Del Rey, focusing especially on the music video for her song "Born to Die" into the entry. Given the fact that there is almost no scholarly reflection on her work so far (same for Yoann Lemoine who made the music video) and that the article has been published in a prestigious peer-reviewed journal, I believe that the source might be not only interesting but also helpful for anyone interested in the work of Lana Del Rey. Many apologies if my question is completely beside the point, I do not have my own account on Wikipedia (and therefore cannot make the edits myself), so this is a new experience for me. Please let me know if you might help me with this or whom should I contact for this purpose.

Section deletion

Hi, Jennica. Thanks for spending your time on the article Hwang Chi-yeul and Be Ordinary. I just found out that the whole sections of Regional Festivals and Interviews were deleted from the article Hwang Chi-yeul. I agree with that you pointed out it's not notable. However Could you undo Radio Appearances section, please? It's an important career of Hwang as musician.

One more thing, Do you think I can remove those template messages on the article Hwang Chi-yeul? I think all issues have been sorted out by your helpful editing. ThanksAbouthessi (talk) 06:54, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

@Abouthessi: I don't really understand the radio section. We do not keep track of anybody else's radio appearances on wikipedia. I've never seen it before in an article. Not on Lady Gaga's, Madonna's, not even on the bigger Kpop groups. The biggest. And the bulk of it or all of it was unsourced if I recall. It really seems like arbitrary information. Wikipedia is not a fansite: WP:NOTFANPAGE Perhaps if there is a list of his radio appearances elsewhere that we could add an External link for? Also, going forward, please post your message to me on the very bottom of the talk page -- where new posts go. --Jennica / talk 08:39, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi, again Jennica. I'm so sorry I posted my message to you on the top of the talk page. and..I clearly understood what you said about radio section. Thank you for your very quick reply. Abouthessi (talk) 08:51, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Mam If I am not wrong than I had couple of interactions at past. I came to know that you are an editor since 2006 it means that you are a highly experienced editor. So mam can you please apply for New page reviewing right. As there are only 400+ NPP reviewiers and it seems most of them don't use the rights that's why there is a backlog of 17000 unreviewed pages. I have reviewed some 300+ pages but my capacity of reviewing is limited as I edit Wikipedia through Android phone. If you can help out there than please help. Thank you. Column removals

Hi there! Just wondering why you've removed the columns from various reference lists with the comment "removed deprecated parameter". Can you please tell me what I should be using instead? Thanks. MeegsC (talk) 15:22, 20 July 2017 (UTC) MeegsC (talk) 15:22, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @MeegsC: Do you mean these? Using a "2" for "2 columns" is depreciated. Instead, use 30em. This sets the column width to 30em, which will change the number of columns depending on the readers screen. For example, on mobile devices, 30em will result in a single column, while on a PC it might be 4 or 5. When the old method of 2 was used, a mobile device would have two very narrow columns that were difficult to read. -- ferret (talk) 15:40, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
@Ferret: - even 30em is deprecated now. Reflist on its own will columnize automatically as of last week or so. I was removing "reflist|1", which is a pointless parameter. @MeegsC: Jennica / talk 18:33, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the info! BTW, you were removing reflist|2, not reflist|1... ;) MeegsC (talk) 21:26, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
@MeegsC: Oh sorry. I set up AWB for both and forgot. The reflist|2 is also deprecated, but I was particularly paying attention to that search since it was "Reflist | 2". --Jennica / talk 23:35, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Sounds from the Other Side

Hi Jennica,

In this edit, you said that Wizkid's new album isn't notable yet. How did you derive this conclusion? Did you do a Google search before drawing conclusions? The album has been discussed in reliable sources. It has also charted in three countries: Belgium, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Below are a few reliable sources that discusses the album:

You need to undo the revision you made here. Sounds from the Other Side currently redirects to Wizkid (musician). This needs to be fixed. You should move the "Sounds From the Other Side (Album by Wizkid)" article to "Sounds from the Other Side". I am going to write an extensive article about the album within the next week or so.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:15, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

@Versace1608: Sounds From the Other Side (Album by Wizkid) does not need to be recreated or moved, and it would be impossible for a regular user to move it over the top of an existing redirect. A namespace like that should not have been created in the first place (capital f in "from", improper and unnecessary disambiguation). You can create the content over the top of the Sounds from the Other Side redirect. Ss112 00:32, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Haha. @Versace If you care so much, why don't you revert it? It's not the correct name for the album anyways. I can't help that. An admin has to move it --Jennica / talk 02:15, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

More column questions

Okay, so am I supposed to be removing any "|2" or "|30em" parameters from reflist calls now? Because here, it looks like all you're doing is removing blank spaces. From one of the parameters, but not all of them. And not removing the "|30em". So I'm totally confused! MeegsC (talk) 11:56, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

@MeegsC: Reflist|2 is definitely deprecated and can be removed. I came across those that has spaces so I condensed it - which isn't a requirement. I just did it to appease my itch. I didn't go out of my way to find that. I use an insource wiki search to find weird formatting instances. In that case I did search for "Reflist | 30em |" - but it's not a big deal. 30em is obsolete now and if I am tidying up an article, I will remove it, but I don't go out of my way to. --Jennica / talk 12:00, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Drive (2011 film)

I need help with this article's soundtrack weekly charts. Although archived, I believe the Italian chart appears to be linkrot. I know nothing about fixing references in soundtrack charts so I was wondering if you would be able to revive it. Thanks, Slightlymad (talk) 08:44, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

@Slightlymad: Hi. I don't see the issue. It has an archive URL in the citation code, so it should be okay. I ran an archive bot on the page and it was able to pick up 2 more dead links and add archive URLs for them. Edit I just checked and I don't see the soundtrack on the Italian chart through that link. I'll add a new one. --Jennica / talk 09:49, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
@Ss112: Maybe you can help? I'm looking through the archive links and searched the tracking week and I can't find anything. These stupid chart sites don't like to keep their archives up either... I think it's going to be lost. I didn't see it on Italian-charts.com either. Drive_(2011_film)#Charts --Jennica / talk 10:08, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Slightlymad has asked me about this before. The Wayback Machine link points to the old FIMI landing page, and has not archived the actual compilation chart where the Drive soundtrack is shown at its peak. FIMI's own archive has a number of issues, where older archives will not work, and many weeks from 2012 have pages that never load. Italiancharts.com only archives the singles and albums charts, not the compilation albums chart. So unfortunately, it doesn't look like this peak has a current source to support it. If its current verifiability status is an issue, it should be removed. Ss112 11:03, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
I vote removing it entirely if all efforts to revive it have been exhausted and there's nothing else could be done. Slightlymad (talk) 13:46, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

@Slightlymad: If Ss112 can't find it, then I think all hope is lost. I tried 2 different archive sites and tried tweaking the date in the URL, etc etc. --Jennica / talk 13:48, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

HMS Argo (1871)

Hi Jennica, the reason I had only one heading for Notes, Citations, and References and using pseudo-headings for the components is that having a separate heading for each of the components clutters the table of contents, in many cases almost doubling the length, without adding usability. Yes, in the case of replacing a pseudo-heading with a heading one can go directly to the place, but then what? There is nothing to edit once one gets there, only the template. Clearly, your mileage differs. I have done some 8 or 900 ship articles with the "Notes, citations, and references" and pseudo-headings format. Feel free to "improve" them all. Cheers, Acad Ronin (talk) 14:05, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

@Acad Ronin: No need for sarcasm. I've seen countless articles - far more than the way you're doing it - that separate them. I've also seen other editors group the reflist and book sources, which is also ok. --Jennica / talk 14:09, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Apologies for the sarcasm. When I come across cases where the article already uses proper headings rather than pseudo-headings I leave them be. Although I don't like the cluttering of the TOC, I don't care enough to change them. Until we have a way of suppressing sub-headings in the TOC, for articles I initiate I will continue to use pseudo-headings. As for "Sources" vs. "References", I hadn't given the matter any thought. What's the rationale? (Genuine question; not sarcasm) I am open to changing my practice if persuaded. Cheers, Acad Ronin (talk) 14:18, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
@Acad Ronin: hm, I don't know. I've seen "Sources" used for book sources. I don't really think there is a definite criteria. For example, Yoko Ono lists "Sources" for books and "References" for books. I am not going to argue about any of this, so I don't really mind what you use. I came across the page while looking for weird reflist parameters (in that article's case it was the notelist|1) --Jennica / talk 14:25, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)(edit conflict) As far as pseudoheaders go, see WP:PSEUDOHEAD. There's some concerns with how they act on screen readers and mobile devices. Making them third level headers and TOC limiting can help. As for Sources vs References, MOS:FNNR suggestions but does not require "References". "Sources" is listed as a possible alternative. -- ferret (talk) 14:24, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

albabe - The Writer/Artist Formally Known as Al Gordon 18:05, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
@Albabe: - "Wikipedia:Redirect". I just made it so it redirected to Todd's page. No you didn't post reviews. You put Discogs as a source, which is a pretty poor source for an album. I moved the album to draft space since it is not ready to be in the main space: Draft:Disco Jets. Don't take this as personal. Please see WP:MOSALBUM for album guidelines. The formatting is a bit off. I'll try to help out with what I can. --Jennica / talk 18:08, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
@ Jennica: I always appreciate any help I can get. I've been doing this for years and never had an "article" put in a "Draft Space." I didn't even know it existed. It sometimes takes me weeks to get a page at least decently complete. I assumed, like a lot of albums that have pages at wiki, that Todd's status in the Business and the idea that this is a "Lost Album" situation, made this album "worthy" of its own page. Is allmusic considered "Reputable?" How about theseconddisc? recordcollectormag? goldminemag?

- @Albabe: See: Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Sources. It is sort of surprising that you've been doing this for years but the article was pretty poorly formatted, no offense. My article on Mercia Deane-Johns

Dear Jennica

My article on Mercia Deane-Johns is still in the drafts stage. I have made a number of amendments and revisions and removed the `puffery` and tried to make it more neutral. It took a long time for me to research and write this article and I hope it can make the main encyclopaedia. It is taking shape, what more needs to be done? The external links were not formatted right -- and we really only need official websites and perhaps her page at IMDB down there, not all those other links. Please do not use those apostrophes you've been using `this one`. And also remember to put punctuation before the ref tag. --Jennica / talk 05:21, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

Dear Jennica Thanks for putting the article in to the main encyclopaedia. There are a couple of issues – first could you put the names of the four films listed in the New Wave section towards the bottom in Italics. I can’t seem to do this myself – they are Picnic at Hanging Rock, My Brilliant Career, Summerfield and The Plumber. Also, now that the article is neutral could the following be removed? `This article may be written from a fan's point of view, rather than a neutral point of view. Hello Jennica

I think it may be appropriate to remove some of the maintenance templates on my article for Mercia Deane-Johns. This includes the one on the Filmography which says (This section does not cite any sources). Every single one of the 20 films listed and all of the 8 theatre productions listed now have a citation.

Also, could these templates at the top now be removed? [This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. (Learn how and when to remove these template messages)

@Chasewc91: It's how the templates are shown on their respective pages... Nowhere does it say they have to be condensed. --Jennica / talk 07:36, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
And nowhere does it say they have to be spread out and take up extra whitespace. It's not even an issue that affects readers. If it bothers you so much, whatever, but keep your rude comments to yourself. That is all. Chase (talk | contributions) 16:44, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Marti Amado

Dear Jennica, I'd created a page dedicated to Hollywood musician, arranger, producer, composer Marti Amado. You posted a speedy deletion "message" on that page and now it's gone. I thought Ms. Amado qualifies as notable considering that she contributes to hollywood soundtracks and collaborates on albums withthe likes of Charlie Bisharat. Can you help me understand why the article was not considered notable? Also, can you help me locate it the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aman Zaidi (talkcontribs) 08:43, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

@Aman Zaidi: The page is gone -- deleted. It was not notable when I came across it, hence why I marked it for deletion. An admin or whoever goes to delete them must have agreed with me or else they would have kept the article. --Jennica / talk 08:49, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jennica: I'm just looking for reasons to understand why a Hollywood composer and independent musician wouldn't qualify as notable. I've read the notability guidelines earlier too and as usual everything is ambiguous there. I'm also aware that human decision making is anyway flawed. Couple that with the ambiguity around notability and you have this situation. Help me understand please. You seem to be a veteran here as compared to me. Also, don't deleted pages go to a deletopedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aman Zaidi (talkcontribs) 09:00, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

@Aman Zaidi: I can't even remember the page but it was obviously not good enough to be in the mainspace or else an admin wouldn't delete it. There is no way for me to view it now. I've never heard of deleteopedia until now and it appears they were not able to rescue it. Here is the record of it being deleted and the reason why was included. And this: Wikipedia:Viewing and restoring deleted pages says only admins can view deleted pages, so perhaps you should contact the admin who deleted it. --Jennica / talk 09:13, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
@Jennica: I wouldn't be too sure of that. There have been past incidents where two of my pages were deleted / marked for deletion and then restored / remained. I've contacted the deleting admin. Let's see what s/he has to say about restoration. Aman Zaidi (talk) 09:26, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not really sure why you can't follow this simple instruction? --Jennica✿ / talk 19:35, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

Jennica, I appreciate your help and concern about the Stan Kenton/The Romantic Approach album page. Please understand, I travel often and I had NO access to a desk top computer for almost two weeks.

Long Dash

Where is the long dash on my keyboard? DISEman (talk) 07:43, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

@DISEman: There isn't a button on the keyboard but right between the edit summary field and the editing space is a dropdown menu called "Insert". The first dash after 'Insert' is the correct long dash. It's called an "en dash". MOS:ENDASH. --Jennica / talk 20:17, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Was "Not Our Fault" from Finest Hour: The Best of Gavin DeGraw? (sadly not listed on the album's) 115.164.95.223 (talk) 18:34, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I've just returned from a 3-month wiki-break, and I noticed the edits you made some weeks ago. I can't quite work out why you removed all the {{dts}} formatting, since your changes broke all my carefully constructed date ordering which was presented in standard format according to MOS:DATEFORMAT, and the sorting worked. Cheers, MinorProphet (talk) 22:10, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

It's borderline pointless if all you have to do is format it as DMY and put a notice at the top. I have a script that can convert the date format. If you think it should be reverted, go ahead.--Jennica / talk 22:40, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
Let me explain by way of two examples. Sorting by DMY (as per your edit) results in garbage, because it does a pure alpha sort, first numbers then letters. Sorting by dts (the way it was) produces perfect date order. There may another way to do it, but tables aren't my forte. Cheers, >MinorProphet (talk) 11:30, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Using DMY
date
11 May 1914
November 1912
15 June 1913
15 July 1912
1911
September 1912
Using {{dts}}
date
11 May 1914
November 1912
15 June 1913
15 July 1912
1911
September 1912
(talk page watcher) MinorProphet is correct. Jennica, DTS is the way to go, because it also generates a sort key to ensure that the column sorts correctly regardless of date format. It also works for MDY. It's doing more than just formatting the date. -- ferret (talk) 11:49, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Thank you ferret, I wasn't sure. I made the revert.  Done MinorProphet (talk) 17:46, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
To follow up, the commonly used date formatting script in question understand DTS. Note my follow up edit with the same script. -- ferret (talk) 17:52, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
My mistake. Sorry! --Jennica / talk 18:41, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

Deletions

Hi Jennica Can you help me? An editor deleted too many parts from Hwang Chi-yeul last night. First that editor deleted quotes from the introduction but I thought it's not reasonable to be deleted so I undid it and left the message, "This part has already been checked out by many other Wikipedia volunteer editors and no one has raised a question. Thank you." After that, an editor started deleting too much and left the message, "Is that so? Well, I'm raising it now." It seemed it's emotional since I undid it. I wonder why that editor deleted what you didn't delete. Please help me. Abouthessi (talk) 01:12, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

Formatting fixes on Picture to Burn

Hi Jennica, I just wanted to let you know that I partially reverted your edit on Picture to Burn because your "formatting fixes" broke several filenames and images. In the future, if you would like to correct a file name, you will have to re-upload the image with the desired file name before changing it in the article. Cheers, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor 03:46, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

@KatnissEverdeen: - Thank you! And I'm sorry. It was unintended. I forgot to look it over. --Jennica / talk 03:47, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Question

You made this edit back in June, how did you do that? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 21:22, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

@TheAmazingPeanuts: - it's this site but it's currently [as of 1:12 am EST] under maintenance. --Jennica / talk 05:12, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 00:21, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
@TheAmazingPeanuts: - its up now. Here's how to do it. "Run Bot" at the top of the page. I always pick "fix a single page" but you can pick the multiple one if you want [it will not count as your edits though but rather the bot's]. Then, I just paste the article title in the field. If you want to archive all the pages regardless if they're dead, pick "Add archives to all non-dead references (Optional). --Jennica / talk 15:20, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
I try it out and did not work, are these edits are automatic if you submit the title of the article so the bot can archive all the dead links or you do it yourself? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 20:29, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
@TheAmazingPeanuts: - yeah, they submit automatically. It has no "preview" window so you can check it before submitting. You just copy the article title exactly as it is in the wiki title, not the URL, so Madonna would be "Madonna (entertainer)". --Jennica / talk 01:33, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
I try it on Good Kid, M.A.A.D City and nothing happened, I try it again on another article. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 20:55, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

@TheAmazingPeanuts: - that's weird. I just did it and it worked. You authorized the "app" and all that? Try this link. It doesn't have the "oauthcallback" thing in the link. I wondered if that was affecting it. --Jennica / talk 02:05, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

Still not working, I think there is an error that needs to be fix. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 23:20, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
It's fixed now. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 05:47, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

Plural of "ABS" is the same as the plural of "ATM" ("ATMs"), etc.

I started a discussion about pluralizing "ABS" as "ABSs"--that is, "anti-lock braking systemS" the same way as we pluralize "ATM" as "ATMs," etc. Will you please show this other editor why that's correct with me?

Thanks if so, 174.23.105.242 (talk) 22:32, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
