Sony Nashville[edit]

Stop adding a link to Sony Nashville in the BNA Records article. It redirects to Sony Music Nashville, which is already in place in the article. Huntster (t @ c) 19:04, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Warner Music Nashville requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Charts articles[edit]

Hello, and thanks for your contributions. Two new articles you've created, Music Row Charts and Radio & Records Charts‎ are a bit of a mystery: what are they lists of? They have no WP:Lead sections. Thanks, Top Jim (talk) 04:41, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

November 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Music Row Charts. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Radio & Records Charts, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Top Jim (talk) 04:47, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Music Row Charts, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Further edits of this type may result in your being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Top Jim (talk) 04:48, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Music Row Charts has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced list of artists, with no assertion of why they're grouped together here..

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:2010 Elizabeth Hendrickson.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:2010 Elizabeth Hendrickson.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 04:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here I do understand what I did wrong the files I uploaded were copright and some of the content I added was false information but I will do better I promise to learn how to use Wikipedia the right way because if I don't I will be blocked for good please help me do better and give me another chance. }}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Please note this block reads as indefinite, but I want to stress this is not a permanent removal of editing privileges. There has been a lot of discussion on this talk page to which you have not responded, Jeremy, and also a discussion at AN/I linked above. If you would read and take on some of these criticisms there is no reason why you should not be unblocked. However I do think it would be a good idea if you asked for a mentor to guide you through some of the things you have been getting wrong here for a while now. Please follow the instructions above about how to post the unblock request; if you post Your reason... as something like a willingness to use your talk page in future and to accept mentoring, I will unblock to see whether this improves your contributions. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 09:33, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jeremy, I received your email but I prefer to keep discussions on-wiki and therefore transparent to others. So I hope you don't mind if I reply here. You can still edit this page to continue the discussion. What you need to do is copy the this text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here please unblock me I will do better }} and replace Your reason here... with some text indicating that you understand why you have been blocked, and assuring us that you will not continue this behaviour. Another admin will then review your request. Don't forget to read the guide to appealing blocks first. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 19:45, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I will not abuse Wikipedia again please unblock me

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:23, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have reposted Jeremy's request which was made by trying to edit the instructions above, rather than copying the template here Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 07:09, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately he shows no real understanding of what led to the block, and no indication of how he'll move forward. A quick read of WP:GAB would be a good start (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:23, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Jeremy, you've tied to edit this page to make an appeal but you're not following the instructions. I did it for you last time but it's probably better if you learn to do it yourself. First, go here and read about what you need to do to successfully appeal a block. Then copy this text to your clipboard: {{unblock|reason=''Your reason here''...}}. Next open this talk page in order to edit it (hit the "edit this page" tab above. Go to the very bottom of the page and pastein what's in your clipboard. Then remove the text Your reason here... and type in your reason why an unblock is appropriate. Sorry if this is longwinded but it's something you're going to have to get the hang of. I'll watch here and check you have it right. Use the preview button to see if it's worked, and if it has a nice blue box will appear with your appeal inside it. Good luck! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
